Nestled on a pristine beachfront, Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon delights guests with its beautiful atmosphere and stunning ocean views. While the hotel's location near marine life and live entertainment earns high marks, opinions on service and value are split, with some visitors praising the attentive staff and reasonable prices, but others pointing out occasional slow service, particularly at the pool bar. Although rooms provide breathtaking sea views and spacious balconies, they often receive criticism for being outdated. Amenities like beach access and turtle encounters are popular, despite some reports of dated facilities.

Room- spacious rooms with large balcony, imagine most rooms have some sea view due to location of hotel. Rooms are a good size and had everything you need, interiors are slightly dated but good value for the price. We found the hotel very quiet in the evening and had no issues with noise or interrupted sleep. Due to our flight time from Heathrow we arrived at the hotel about 7.30am on our first day. Thanks to Rodrigo who was able to organise an early check in which was much appreciated after the flight and transfer. There are also showers, changing rooms and luggage storage etc. should a room not be available early.

Resort- fantastic location, unrestricted views of the sea, beautiful sunsets, fascinating wildlife all around.

Food- We were bed and breakfast only and would recommend this over all inclusive as there are so many restaurants in walking distance. Lunch served at the pool bar is good for a casual meal. Food and drinks were priced reasonably.

Bar- Hotel bar was a nice place to sit in the evening and good selection of drinks but again given the excellent location of the hotel we preferred to walk out and find a bar for evening drinks.

Area- a fantastic location within walking distance to excellent range of shops, bars, restaurants, surfing beaches and snorkelling spots. We took our own gear but you can easily hire masks. We also used the tuktuks, easy to flag down and in abundance if heading further afield or in the wetter weather. The town of Hikkaduwa felt very safe to walk around and the hotel has 24 hour security. Most businesses prefer cash, there are several ATMs that accepted our cards a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

Pool- huge pool, we didn't really use the pool due to the proximity to the sea but there were always lots of sun loungers available, a mix of shade and sun depending on your preference.

Staff - Staff were all fantastic, really friendly and helpful. A special mention to Madushanka who looked after our room beautifully.

This is our second stay at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, knocked off one star as the hotel is starting to show its age and the rooms are in need of a bit of a refresh.

hotel was excellent, staff were so friendly especially ashita (I think his name was) who works on the bar. He would make us feel extremely comfortable and kept my family happy and topped up with drinks. The staff were very helpful, kind and generous as mostly everyone is in Sri Lanka. Our hotel felt very secure and the security were everywhere and very alert as it is quite an open space. The buffet had a variety of foods that everyone would like, and if you did not like any food you were able to ask for food that they made fresh. The hotel was in an amazing location where the turtles were literally on your doorstep but as we came here off season it was very wavey so on a rare occasion we saw the turtles. Although we did see them atleast on 3 of the days. I can imagine that in seasons the turtles come to shore. This hotel was very quiet as we came in August, and was so chill and calm which we enjoyed. Even though it was not summer season, it was still a great
temp at a solid 30 everyday, and it was an enjoyable heat. Overall brilliant hotel, our experience wouldn’t have been the same without the staff in the buffet and especially the outdoor bar staff.

1. One of the main advantages of the hotel is its location along the beach. The beach is public, but it is the only place suitable for swimming in Hikkaduwa and the surrounding area. Those. in other hotels, even located on the first line, it will be impossible to swim in the ocean. In Hikka Tranz you can swim in the ocean, return to the hotel - in the pool and on a sun lounger.
2. Turtles come to this beach. They say there are 6 of them, but we only saw 2, but every day!
3. The food is great. The choice is simply huge - from vegetables and steamed fish to specific tastes. Large selection of sweets. But there is not enough fruit.
4. The room is clean, everything you need is there. Cleaning is done every day, in the evening RoomService goes through again - they offer water, change towels if necessary, etc. All rooms overlook the ocean, the balconies are generally beautiful - when you are tired during the day, you can sit on the balcony and admire the ocean.

It was our wedding anniversary, so the Service Man of our room, Madushanka, decorated our room every day, brought flowers, and collected different animals from towels. It was very nice)
The hotel also congratulated us - they baked a cake especially for us with a congratulatory inscription. It is this kind of sincere attitude towards guests that makes you want to come back.

5. Most of the staff speaks Russian and absolutely everyone is ready to help you at any moment.

The hotel is intended for a quiet holiday, who wants to relax, get away from the hustle and bustle and is now looking for a hotel - I wholeheartedly recommend Hikka Tranz :)

First time in Sri Lanka and decided to choose Hikkaduwa and Hikka Trans network Cinnamon. The hotel exceeded all expectations! ALL rooms have a luxurious sea view. The rooms themselves are spacious with interesting balconies where you can enjoy the sound of the surf while lying on the sofa. Everything was fine with us. Cleaning for 5 + fancy figures made from towels brought a smile every time 🦢🐘 The staff is polite, the girl at the reception speaks excellent Russian and will be happy to help you with any question (adapter, lunch box, bill payment, etc.)
We had the HB system, everything was very tasty! At breakfast, we were impressed with fried eggs in a dough boat, an omelet with a choice of toppings, and waffles with delicious whipped cream and chocolate. Dinner includes skewered and deep-fried seafood, deep-fried vegetables, delicious yams, local shawarma and ice cream. And of course they serve curry - chicken, local fish, there is always beef/pork, various vegetables (okra fire). We love spicy and very spicy food, so we were delighted with the cuisine! But there was always a menu for delicate stomachs or babies. You definitely won't go hungry. The prices at the bar are ridiculous - beer and Martini Bianco for 300 rubles, delicious cocktails with tropical fruits for 400. We tried lobster at the bar - with a discount of 1200 rubles and it was very tasty!
Coincidentally, my husband and I’s birthdays fell during our stay at the hotel and the sweetest congratulations with balloons and cakes were waiting for us in our room. Very nice and nice.
The hotel area is luxurious - sun loungers on the grass under palm trees and magnolias. Chipmunks are playing nearby, crows are mischievous, and monitor lizards are strolling imposingly. In the evening, ring-necked parakeets and mynahs fly in to roost for the night. And of course, giant sea turtles come every day to feed.
Delight! Delight! Delight!
I don’t understand who writes dissatisfied reviews - a gray hotel, boring territory. What are you guys doing? There is an atmosphere of joy and relaxation here, the hotel is stylized from the wall decor to the furniture. All is cool! Take it without any doubt. There is definitely no better place in Hikkaduwa.
Thank you Hikka Trans, we really want to come back to you again🧡🧡🧡

A wonderful hotel with a large territory where chipmunks, crows, parrots and monitor lizards live, which makes the rest more pleasant. We really liked the hotel cuisine (breakfasts and dinners), very varied, lots of fruits and pastries. A wonderful New Year's Eve was organized with delicious food, live music and dancing. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, always want to help, say hello and smile. The hotel territory has an exit to the beach and reef, where a lot of fish and sea turtles live. The windows of the rooms are facing the ocean, so a good mood is always with you. The rooms are cleaned every day and they do it responsibly, water is also brought for free. The prices in the hotel restaurants and the beach bar are acceptable. Also on the territory of the hotel there is a diving center, where you can dive with scuba gear to the bottom of the ocean.

The hotel is probably the best in the Hikkaduwa area. The location is super, the area is large, unlike all the other neighboring ones. The staff is very smiling and friendly. It seems to me that they even conduct trainings with security guards. They smile and say hello five times a day, each time asking: “How are you?” A lot of staff try to speak Russian, but only two people at the reception actually speak, the rest know a dozen words, so get ready to remember school English. Comfortable large swimming pool. Rooms with large balconies all overlook the ocean, although the lower floors are blocked by trees and bushes. Three fed large turtles actually swim to the hotel beach every day and this is daily entertainment for everyone who wants to feed them. There is a reef next to the hotel. But if you think that, like in the Red Sea, you will put on fins, a mask and swim to look at fish and corals, then you are mistaken. They take people there by boat. The hotel has no corals, everything is dead, and it’s difficult to call it a reef, a stone plateau that either submerges in the water or appears above it depending on the tides and waves. Sandy beach with a grade of C grade. There are rocks in places where the dive club boats are parked in the sand. We went swimming to the left of the hotel. The shore is clean, sandy without stones, the child had fun in the waves for hours.
There are dehumidifiers in the rooms, it was very humid and hot, if you turn on the air conditioning, the windows from the outside start to sweat, you can’t see anything.
The food is quite varied, there is European cuisine, a lot of Asian cuisine, in particular curry, which is beloved in this region. If you are not a fan of spicy food, you can always find bland food. Fruits every day in large quantities, amazingly tasty. The seafood restaurant "Crab" is beyond compare, everything is fresh, not cheap. But having had lunch on the street in a somewhat decent cafe, we realized that the price tag in the Crab is quite acceptable, in some places even more profitable than in a cafe outside the hotel. For wine lovers, the hotel has a huge wine cellar.
Another plus is the TVs connected to the Internet in the rooms. You turn on YouTube and cartoons and films in any languages.
The downside is the lack of a children's playground and any animation, although there are plenty of children in the hotel. Once we saw water aerobics in the pool. which someone led and that’s it. There is only one key to the room and the locks on the doors are mechanical. There is a risk of slamming the door and leaving the key inside. WiFi throughout the territory, but the speed is 5Mb, in the evening it turns into 0.5

The hotel has a chic location, a great beach with a gentle entrance to the water, which is ideal for families with children. Sea turtles come to the beach, which can be fed seaweed or simply observed.
Part of the beach is a coral reef where the depth is literally 30 centimeters. You can wander around it (necessarily in slippers) and observe a family of sea urchins, morays, different colored fish and even reef sharks. Anyway, the location is perfect!
Also, there are cute chipmunks running around the property, and there are varanas. And the crows... there's a whole GPG and they're croaking very loudly. Very beautiful, and for that you can forgive them for their unrelenting croaking.

We took a breakfast tour. At breakfast, the range of fruits is simply huge-pineapple,melon,banana,lychee,papaya,maracuya and others, little known to us. Egg dishes, yogurt, baked goods and stuff. Of course, not all the dishes are familiar to us, but definitely never remained hungry!

Hotel staff are always smiley and polite, any difficulty is tried to solve instantly.
I want to especially mention room boy Tharanga🌺Guy's doing great! Every day he made real masterpieces out of towels - Turks would be jealous of such skill!

All in all, it was nice, except for a few nuances.
The linen has long since lost its pristine whiteness and is grey and yellow. The contrast against the snow-white towels is particularly visible. The underwear should have been replaced!
We had a suite room and it doesn't assume a bathrobe and slippers (just a suite). The floor of the room is just icy and barefoot impossible to walk on. Plus the tiles on the floor are nasty to the feet. Slippers are a must!

The hotel is very well maintained and clean, the grounds are ennobled. Aesthetically, lots of palm trees and plants. There are palm squirrels running all over the place, and that's really nice. By the way, this hotel only has an ocean view, so don't overpay for the sea view, it's very beautiful everywhere. On the Beach immediately by the hotel you can swim with turtles, they swim very close to the shore and people come to this beach specifically. There is also a place where you can swim simply, the entrance to the ocean is sand everywhere. Hotel employees always say hello, ask how you are, which gives a very friendly atmosphere. Breakfasts clean the plates right after you, we've never sat with dirty dishes after a meal. The whole area is secured, security is on duty day and night. There are two swimming pools (children and adults) they are very warm when it rained outside - you can warm up in it. He's worth his money unequivocally, the photos were taken on the property. There are many things near the hotel: there are alcohol shops, tours can be bought, jewellery.

We vacationed in January 2024. Great hotel - we really liked it. We recommend. The rooms are clean (not new, but the cleanliness is surprising) - they are cleaned 2 times, WiFi is excellent. The buffet is very tasty, a variety of food, both spicy and not spicy, a lot of different fruits, meat, fish, ice cream for dinner, delicious soups, delicious sweets. The territory is beautiful, well-groomed, warm pool, comfortable sun loungers, there are a lot of birds and chipmunks in the area. Turtles swim every day, there is a place for swimming without waves and a sandy bottom, where there are many fish swimming next to you. Friendly staff, they responded quickly and repaired the toilet. Lots of security - you feel safe. Good location for swimming, cafes/restaurants, as well as various shops. By the way, there is a supermarket nearby - SANDAGIRI - where most goods are several times cheaper. The only advice is to keep the room from getting too humid - always have the air conditioner and dehumidifier on, and keep the doors closed. :)
