Exactly as my title goes, this is my Home away from Home. I cannot recall going to Hikkaduwa and not staying at this place. from the moment you get out of the vehicle to the moment you leave, you're at home. The staff are attentive and friendly. They're courteous but not invading. They're professional and polite. very special mentions to the restaurant staff like Lalaka and his crew. Rohan, Mr. Bandara, Sanjaya and Jagath are some of my point of contacts. It all shows who much is invested by the management, Mr. Siri Gunawardana and the Executive team to groom and train them.

We waited 3 years for this holiday and it was well worth the wait. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, maybe a little tired in some areas but very clean and comfortable. The food is delicious with a good selection of local and international dishes. The buffet area is well organised for the Covid restrictions that were still in place when we visited. The staff here simply cannot do enough for you, especially the pool and restaurant staff. It's beautifully situated on the beach with its own PADI diving centre. There are lots of tours that are accessible from this area too. We would recommend staying here to anyone, and if you are thinking about going to Sri Lanka, they really need tourists back in the country as soon as possible.

From the moment we arrived at this lovely hotel we were treated with tremendous respect as every single need of ours was catered to with a smile. The hotel itself is situated remarkably on the beach, we were spoilt for choice each say as we were unsure whether to go to the beach or the beautiful pool located at the hotel. The rooms were fantastic and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this hotel and the food and drink were truly first class, with a delicious assortment of Sri Lankan and Western foods. My family and I cannot wait to return in a year or two.

Yesterday morning I booked this hotel as it advertised itself at "Hotels.com" as a facility which solely can be booked for quarantine stays. I did so due to the fact that I an hour earlier had received a positive covid-19 test. The text in Danish at the presentation of the Hotel.com says "Dette hotel kan kun benyttes i forbindelse med karantæneophold. " to those more than 99% of the world that cannot understand Danish I can say, that the text is a very clear confirmation of the ability of the hotel to handle guests in quarantine. At arrival the reception manager without any excuse canceled my reservation denying that the hotel accept people in quarantine. He shouted at me and threw me out in an extremely rude and hostile manner.

Although we didn’t stay in this hotel or eat the hotel looked delightful. We did however call in for a coffee after having gone for a PCR test (so we had a folder including passports tickets etc) we had a lovely chat with one of the bar men and he brought us a delicious coffee. After our chat my husband went for a walk on the beach. I ordered a tuk tuk and went vegetable market, supermarket, and butchers shopping before picking my husband up and going back to our villa. I unloaded shopping realised we didn’t have the folder! Ordered a tuk tuk went back to the hotel and they had it safe behind the bar. Also other staff had found the information of our villa and facebook the owner. It would have been a nightmare as we flew out the next day. Thank you again wonderful staff 🙏🏼

Stayed at the hotel for 16 nights with our 2 girls we chose this hotel as it had a pool and was situated right on Hikkaduwa beach, to my disappointment you had to go through a gate to get to beach and then there were no sunbeds on beach unless u wanted to walk down to the other end on beach and pay :( also right in front of the hotels beach are lots of boats with makes it difficult to swim in, we actually found a nice bar restaurant 5mins in a tuk tuk down the road that didn't charge for sunbeds and served great lunch That said the rooms were always kept clean and so was the hotel, we always found the staff to be friendly we didn't really have any need to ask them for anything so can't comment at that, we chose not to pay the extra for the breakfast as there were to restaurants opposite the hotel and were much cheaper we also didn't eat at the hotel as there are plenty of places to choose from in Galle Road They do have some a pool and tennis table but disappointing the pool table is for over 16 only and at a small cost, again there are places free and for younger children down the road. Overall nice place to stay we only used the hotel as a base as there is so much on offer outside of the hotel

1 Night at Coral Sands, is 1 Night to much!! Rip off!!! We paid just under 18,000LKR for an absolutely bad room and the worst service I have ever experienced. According to the pictures, the hotel looks very inviting but if you have not booked the high end room, I strongly advise against a stay. the room is not friendly, very uncharitably designed, with many flies, in the shower was mold and the towels smell unpleasant. Value of the room not 5,000LKR. When we asked for another room (which should not be a problem in a hotel in this price range) the lady from the reception sent us only the "housekeeper" who did not change anything. There are many nice hotels in hikkaduwa, at a fair price. Coral Sands is not one of them.

Highly recommend this hotel. Location is fabulous - right on the beach near the coral marine reserve for snorkeling. Good pool, nice clean rooms, and very friendly staff. Good value for money! You can also pay to use the pool only which was also great value.

We went as a family trip to Hikkaduwa , Reserved 2 DBL and 3TPL, Overall experience was great. Room and adorning balcony is nice, but not it does not have a modern look. Seems recently renovated. Specially Saturday dinner was really good. Good variety. Lunch was average. Breakfast is also not bad. Hotel offered a special weekend package provides free evening tea, snacks, Beer, soft drinks etc.. Friendly staff. Have 2 pools both nice. Beach is bit busy with public access around the hotel but good to hang around.
