The hotel is located in a beautiful garden and provides a completely decent standard. Large rooms with air conditioning (quite noisy). There was a tiny, sweet lizard in our room :) Restaurant (in a separate building) with a varied cuisine (you have to pay extra for drinks). Unfortunately, the coffee is lame. It's best to use 2 Nescafe bags instead of the one provided by the hotel. There is a small, rather shallow swimming pool next to the restaurant. There is nothing to do outside the hotel.

The sweeping driveway up to the hotel makes a great first impression and the grounds are really lovely. They are definitely missing a trick with this and should make more seating areas around the grounds for people to enjoy. The lobby area is really nice too. The pool looks nice but the loungers are all frayed and torn, and around the pool felt pretty dirty. The rooms looked pretty tired and outdated - gouges out of the walls, scratched and damaged furniture, bathrooms that need a re-fit or a deep clean at the very least. We found a half drunk bottle of water and a piece of paper on the floor, so room cleaning could be better. The balconies are totally open at the sides so you can't really enjoy it out there as you can see/hear your neighbours on their balcony 1 metre away which just feels uncomfortable. Our neighbours were really noisy and we asked if they had any other rooms.T hey gave us a room with no neighbours either side which was much appreciated. The air con was very effective and we slept really well. Breakfast was one of the more limited spreads we encountered out of the 6 hotels we stayed in in Sri Lanka. The freshly cooked omelettes were nice but the staff should cover over the plates of fruit and pastries which were covered in flies! They were also not clear if the water was from the tap so we ordered bottled and it was most expensive water we had during our whole tour of Sri Lanka! The men in the jewellery shop were a bit pushy and I dreaded having to walk past them to breakfast and being harassed to look in their shop and buy something!

During my visit to Sri Lanka, I stayed at various hotels, but this one stood out as one of the best. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with fresh-smelling wet towels and refreshing mango juice. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the staff were exceptionally kind and friendly, attending to our requests promptly. The variety of delicious food was impressive. The hotel is situated in a quiet area, surrounded by extensive gardens and greenery. I definitely recommend it!

Very beautiful hotel with amazing garden and infinity 30m pool. Very friendly staff (thanks Hasarangi and Kalani for the nice reception) and large food buffet (local and international). The rooms are huge with a separate large bathroom (with separate whirlpool). Also possibility to take a massage in the hotel. Best place to stay when to visit Sigiriya or village tour.

In Dambulla there are no hotels of the big international chains, moreover it is not easy to find a place in the middle category ones, because there is a lot of demand and little supply This hotel is very nice, the beds are good, it is absolutely quiet, it has a nice garden, the staff is extremely available, the curtains are quite blackout, at the beginning because the hotel was almost completely sold out I had a nice room with the only problem of having the external security light pointed exactly at my window, so this room was relatively lit in the evening, I kindly asked the manager to help me, she literally went out of her way to find me a room that did not have this problem, also she was really kind in meeting my needs, a really very kind and efficient person to whom all my thanks go For me it is a recommended hotel

We were of a group of about 60 packs who occupied 25 rooms split between the chalets and deluxe rooms. We checked in on the 22nd of December and stayed until the 25th, Mddu and the team a the hotel went out of their way to make our entire stay very comfortable and catered to all our requirements. Rooms and other amenities were all good. We would have preferred a bit a more variety in the menus at the buffets especially the deserts that were dished out since we were staying for 3 nights and 4 days.. However, the Christmas eve gala dinner was fantastic. All meals that were served were all delicious but a little more variety would have been ideal. Overall, our trip was a super one and the stay was a big part of this memorable trip. We would certainly visit this place again.

I will try to be very objective with my review of sigiriana/thilanka and base it on my own experience there and not the reviews of others.
The hotel grounds are vast and the view of the rice fields is great. The place is filled with wildlife. You will see a number of birds and other animals. It also offers great views of sunsets from the restaurant.
The hotel staff and manager are helpful, friendly and accommodating. The food was okay, although less flavorful and less spicy than other hotel food, it should be good for foreigners who aren't so adventurous food wise. It was also good that they had driver accommodation. The hotel lobby was very nice and new, so were the lobby restrooms.
However, I gave this hotel a 1 star rating because of my family's experience staying there. First of all, the rooms are not so clean. Its easy to clean the rooms but it appears that they didn't not thoroughly clean the rooms. There were cobwebs behind the furniture and even the room phone. And the bathroom looked dirty very outdated and creepy. There was also a smell in the bathroom that seemed to come from the drains. Some parts of the room and bathroom were in a state of disrepair. Handles were broken in the toilet door that could have been easily removed. The toilet seat looked worn and should have been replaced. And the toilet paper holder was on the floor and they just put the toilet paper on top of the toilet paper dispenser. These small deals could have been easily remedied without spending.
Another reason for the 1 star rating are the bed bugs. There were no bed bugs on the bed. As my 1 year old did not sustain any bites. There were however bed bugs on the pillows they provided. My wife and I got bites where the pillows made contact with our skin. I got a lot of bites on my nape and arms and my wife on her thighs and wrists.
Not to mention the big cockroach that went into my wife's retainer case.
I did not want to complain but I realized only after leaving the hotel that the bites all over my neck and arms were not from mosquitoes but from the room.
We were scheduled to stay in another thilanka hotel but we changed last minute due to the experience we had.

This was our favourite hotel of the trip! Our family of 4 were separated into two huge rooms by a balcony so we were easily able to spend time in each others rooms. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We used the swimming pool on a couple of occasions and my children enjoyed watching the birds and widlife whilst in the water! I indulged in a spa treatment that was also very nice. The restaurant had plenty to choose from and also had wonderful views over the paddy fields. Plenty of wildlife to spot including giant squirrels, Lizards, palm squirrels and birds. Thank you so much for a wonderful start to our holiday!
