Well I visited to the Amaya lake couple of weeks back and I must say it has situated in a very nice location within a forest area. Very quite place and its adjoining the Kandalama lake. Since its situated in a very wide land area, you can walk in and around the hotel land. We certainly enjoyed the walk in...

The hotel looks nice wifi works good in public areas. But the room was really really bad old furniture and the ants walk everwhere, really dirty showerfloor we showered with our flipflops on. A la carte restaurant looks also nice but when you sit the bugs are falling on our heads. The whole floor was covered by bugs. The waiters...

Dear Judith, Ayubowan! Greetings from Amaya Resorts & Spas! Thank you for your review following your stay at Amaya Lake. This Resort has been classified as an Eco-friendly Resort with its natural surroundings amidst an unspoiled environment rich in biodiversity. Very nice quite hotel adjoining the kandalama lake. very friendly staff and helpful. We had 2 kids at age of 2 and 4, very family friendly hotel. The hotel is about 10 kilometers from Dambulla cave temple. Sigiriya rock fortress is also not very far from the hotel.

Nice and spacious room and lovely reception and pool area. The whole site was really clean and the staff were very helpful, though checking in and out was quite slow. We were surprised by how expensive the dinner buffet was ($25 per person plus drinks), particularly relative to food prices elsewhere in Sri Lanka. One other point is that the...

We had a wonderful stay at Amaya Lake. The staff was friendly and the little hut spacious and clean, not all far away from the reception. We especially enjoyed the food. It was our first stop in Sri Lanka and the attention paid to us by our courteous waiter Avin helped us to understand and appreciate the local food. It...

This place is absolutely amazing. You are welcomed by ladies drumming and the reception area is lush. The staff bring you welcome drinks and we were quickly shown to our room. The room is a little bungalow surrounded by trees and inside we had a sitting area, bedroom and a huge bathroom. We were disappointed to have single beds set...

We used this hotel as our base for exploring Sigiriya and Minneriya National Park. Both required early starts and fairly late finishes so it was lovely to return to this haven to relax around the pool or sit in the lovely outdoor dining area for lovely meals. You can also walk down to the lake ( very short distance) and...
