We spent two nights here whilst on a tour of Sri Lanka and when we arrived were welcomed with cold towels and drinks. The site is large and we had a detached lodge a little walk from the main facilities, there is a golf buggy available if you need it. I personally didn't like the lodge very much, it seemed... More

Very nice, cool and calm place from dry North Central Province Sri Lanka. Nearly 15km (approximately 20-30 minutes) away from Dambulla city. The hotel is a real nice place to spent vacation time. When we arrived to the hotel two rural ladies start playing "Rabana" (traditional Sri Lankan drum) and that was a real new experience. The hotel staff was... More

We've stayed at Amaya Lake on the Sri Lankan leg of our honeymoon. It's a lovely, tranquil eco-friendly resort with an amazing pool to dip into after a day's excursions. The staff is going out of their way to make one's stay more comfortable. They've changed our room just because we had a very loudly snoring neighbour. When they found... More

Amaya lake is a lovely place, bungalows only which are well spread out around its extensive grounds so much so you need a golf cart to transport you, pools and facilities are immaculate it's a nice place to be, stayed at kandalama which is just on the other side of the lake which I loved but it was busy, so... A very pleasant and luxurious place to spend time; high class cabin rooms set in immaculately kept woodland grounds. Large open air swimming pool and attractive open sided dining, lounge and bar areas. Very helpful staff. Great spot if you like bird watching - the grounds teem with them and the lake shore offered eagles and pelicans.

We arrived at 2am & left at 9am. Check in & out fast. Breakfast was good. Beautiful location & view of lake. Very peaceful & all cottages are in trees. Very eco friendly & large rooms. The ACs on 2 rooms were very noisy. Needs to be solved. Could not sleep & had headache. Insects out side of rooms &... More

Nice enough setting but there is an obvious "cash cow" exercise going on. Staff are lovely and work hard enough, food in the main restaurant is average.... if you use the "A Le Carte" restuarant be prepered to pay through the nose for a very poor menu... I have had better food in fast food outlets. Overall the venue is... More

We found a bargain for a villa on booking.com for the room only. The hotel is simply amazing - the sort of hotel you imagine when you think of a luxury hotel (at least to the uninitiated like us!). There were even golf buggies to drive you to your villa. Pool was beautiful if a little chilly. Location was good... More

Stayed one night at Amaya Lake and I regret for not staying longer. You are welcomed to the hotel to the tunes of a Rabana played by local villagers So staff is friendly and the ambience at the hotel is amazing. The lake view is very beautiful and it is suited to have a candle lit dinner beside the lake.... More
