We traveled around Sri Lanka for several weeks, and Saman's was definitely our favorite place. The location is great (just half a kilometer from the amazing Dambulla Buddhist Museum and cave temples), the rooms are tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and the service is good, but what really sets the place apart is Saman himself. He looks very traditional with... More

Friendly family run bed and breakfast that do offer lunch and dinner. Rooms were nice and clean. Guesthouse is close to Dambulla Caves - walking distance. Had some trouble accommodating my group of 15 people, but they made a plan and made sure we were comfortable.

We ended up at Saman's guesthouse on a rainy night, and got treated to a delicious rice and curry. It was so good we came back for another dinner, and had grilled fish and salad. The place is cozy and people are nice and friendly, in particular Roshan went out of his way to made us feel at home. Additionally,... More

We didnt book our rooms in advance so we were just walking in to different places. We saw Saman's Guesthouse by the road and knew that it was the best one amongst the others that we saw. The wonderful family who runs the place made us feel very welcome. The food in the restaurant is highly recommended. Try their eat... More

Arrived in Dambulla and was greeted by this nice family. The food I got for dinner was really excellent! Such generous portions and good attendance from the propriators. They also offered tours and transport to Trincomalee. Well recommended.

I stayed here 3 years ago and I liked it. So I came again this year..but nothing was done there, it is not finished, looks a bit dirty. Bathroom not in the god shape, water coming to the floor, no bulb. It was disapointing. Plus is the short distance to cave temple and very good food. It was really tasty,... More

Our stay at Saman's was very average. After 10minutes of checking in I got trapped in the bathroom and one of the young boys came to rescue me. Later the manager then came to check the lock and to tell us that it didn't work and we shouldn't use it... That was a bit late. Upon inspecting the broken lock... More

We went there two days ago. They warmly welcome us with the Sri Lankan hospitality . Food was superb and rooms were very clean and spacious. Place is very closed to 'The Golden Rock Temple' Dambulla, approximately 5-10 mins walking distance. It's a family run guest house ,equipped with all the modern facilities and it's highly recommended please for those... More
