We loved this hotel. The welcome was warm and the building so full of character. The upstairs rooms are stylish and modern and worth the extra cost. Downstairs rooms are good but for the mattresses. Service is efficient and friendly. The menu was varied and our dinner was excellent. The situation close to the Sacred City and various lakes is...

We stayed at the Sanctuary on our way to Mannar. The rooms were comfortable, the staff attentive, except for the wifi that did no connect easily. The meals were tasty but a bit expensive. All in all a nice stay.

Very nice place, with quiet gardens around, outside place where you can have a nice drink, and close to the old city. High quality of food, good size of rooms and helpful staff. On the whole, very nice stay (shame there is no swimming pool!).

Beautiful old governors house all wooden verandas and charming rooms, very atmospheric. We loved Anuradhapura, it's temples and sights are amazing and we were lucky enough to be there during the jasmine holy festival. We arrived and had club sandwiches for lunch which were fine, but at dinner they were very understaffed and the staff they had were nice but...

This hotel has a truly impressive approach through a beautiful garden. The rooms were comfortable and the food was mostly good. It is amazingly situated to explore the ruins and local temples. It was a real experience to stay in such a historic setting and one we wont forget.

Had the pleasure of staying one night at this beautiful place. Very close to all the sights. Friendly staff, good food, great rooms. You might get a visit from some monkeys, if you don't close your door properly! Also, the Queen (UK) stayed at this establishment when she visited!

This is a nice hotel, with nice staff and makes for a good location out of which to visit the cultural triangle. The monkeys outside are a charming bonus. However, there are easy improvements to be made here to make the hotel better: they only had Carlsberg beer, and nothing local. The menu is a hodge podge of cuisines with...

Additionaly there is a scarecity of local beer as the main brewery went under water during the major floods a few months ago. For meals we offer...
