This hotel was the only one in Sri Lanka that disappointed us. Poor maintenance, poor service, and poor quality--but expensive--food. Our tour company booked it as part of a package, so I had no idea until looking it up for this review that it cost as much as the Galle Face in Columbo and the Aliya Resort in Sigiriya--hotels we... The hôtel is very nice, you feel being in an old colonial one. Nevertheless was build 25 years ago. The gardens were the bungalows are located are wonderful, small jungle with monkeys. Bungalows are also 25 years old. For the room it's acceptable. It can be perceive as charmed but for the bathroom it's urgent to act. Very old showers.... More

This hotel has a good location for seeing the sites of Anuradapura and Willpatu national park as well as comfortable rooms and swimming pool. It's nice to walk amongst the trees, see the monkeys and wander down to the waterhole and we were lucky enough to see an elephant down there just after we arrived. Compared to other hotels on... Supposed to be the best hotel in the area. Set in lovely well maintained grounds. Nice spacious rooms in bungalow settings. Unfortunately, the air conditioning working is iffy or the load makes the lights trip periodically. And, unless you're from a similar climate, it makes it difficult to sleep. Although, for the price paid for the room, you do expect... More

This hotel is set in 50 acres of well maintained grounds and backs onto a lovely lake. The bungalow rooms are very spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was adequate. We had a club sandwich for lunch as the buffet seemed expensive. Dinner was similarly priced quite high so we ate offsite. The staff are very friendly and courteous. Wifi is... More

Only rated this as average based on location the rest of it was below average both food and service .Beautiful location spoilt by lower standards of rest .It has such potential but as previous reviews have said it needs stronger management and rooms need lots of tlc (our family next door had frog family in there sink every day coming... You will be very impressed with this hotel and the garden at the first sight. Everything in the hotel can see the ages, but that is not a problem at all, as we are not expecting some modern hotels but it is a real pity that this hotel is obviously under very poor management. 1. Worst food we've ever had... More

We stayed here only one night whilst touring around. The entrance and grounds look amazing on arrival, the setting is lovely, but the staff didn't smile or really communicate - unusual in our experience in Srilanka. We had a packed breakfast as we left early for safari - it was unappetising - the chicken sandwich was actually more of a... More

This was the first time we had stayed at Anuradhapura in 3 past visits. This hotel is probably regarded as one of the best in the area and the entry, reception area, welcome, setting and the accommodation did not disappoint. You drive in off the main road and enter a tranquil oasis of buildings patterned after the style of the... More

Beautiful, dreamlike place... Yet inexperience of staff and very mediocre food spoils it... not the perfect place to sleep either.. yes, it is too natural, but still, a frog in your bathroom is not what you expect... perhaps it was my unluckiness but I would not stay here again, despite the extremely beautiful premises... you may wish to try tout...
