The hotel is small, clean, with a nice terrasse. The room was clean, good bed, the bathroom a little old but nice. The people working were very nice and helpful, you can rent bikes to visit the temples. It is right next to a school so you will need earplugs for the afternoon nap but it is very calm at...

The French Garden is very well run with nice clean rooms. Rajitha is very helpful and is always happy and smiling. We had very good food at both breakfast and dinner. We like vegetarian but there was a good choice of other things too. There is a good outside area which is partly covered. Would certainly recommend it if you...

The room was clean, so as the bathroom. WIFI was fast, perfect for your next planning. The young guys who run the place are very helpful and friendly. They even let us change our booking at the last minute to accommodate a trip to Mannar. It is very central, good to start your excursions.

We didn't stay at French Garden but ate here twice as it was close to where we were staying, cheaper, and had a menu rather than one meal option! Rajitha was definitely the star of the show - a born entertainer and just the sort of person you want working for you in hospitality. The curry and rice was good,...

We spend 2 nights in this place and it was a very good choice. Room was clean, hot water and the service is very friendly. It is close to the bus station which is useful for planning your trip. Try the rice and curry, the best we had in Sri Lanka so far.

We are making a tour of Sri Lanka and we find the French Garden in "Le Routard". It's an excellent place to eat, with fresh products, large portions in the plate and waiter(s) whose making effort to speak your language. Too bad we couldn't try the rice and curry. Will be for the next time!

My family and I stayed at the French Garden for 2 nights and were very happy with our stay. We had a family room, which slept 4, was very clean, had its own bathroom/shower and small fridge. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Rajhet - he made our stay so enjoyable! Both evenings we ate dinner here and the...
