Located at the end of the Igalo part of Herceg Novi, a good half hour walk to the old town, this hotel's best feature is it's lovely pool area and private beach which is free to residents, although the pool was absolutely freezing when we visited in October and the sea was warmer! You get towels, sunbeds and an adjustable umbrella, and beautiful views over the Kotor Bay. However, the poolside toilets are awful, dirty, half finished with unlockable doors, certainly not 4* and the staff, like most in the hotel, cannot speak even basic English. Strangely they have a bar but no snacks available so you have to go elsewhere. Lifts are small and very slow, we used the stairs and usually beat them. The main stairs only go up a few floors then you change to another stairwell which is just dark concrete like in a multi-story carpark! Rooms are small but modern, with lots of storage and even though we had asked for a double room the two beds were just pushed together but made up separately. No point in asking the maid as she couldn't speak any English, we wanted some more coat hangers and ended up miming hanging coats up...returned a few hours later to find we'd been given 3 bathrobes!!! For 2 of us. I wonder what would have happened if I'd asked for 8 extra coat hangers...?! The cleaning of rooms needs a lot more attention and some of the decor is quite rough round the edges, and needs tidying up. The complimentary slippers had clearly already been used which was rather revolting. The bathroom was small but modern, but the bins weren't emptied for days at a time, I asked a question on TripAdvisor and was told by the Manager that there was conditioner (there wasn't) and that the toiletries were replenished daily (they weren't replenished at all and we ended up leaving the empty bottles on the side of the sink as a reminder but they were just left there!) so we had to ask reception for more shower gel in the end and were given one more little bottle between us! Rationing? The shower was superb though, huge cubicle and powerful and very adjustable. We paid for a partial sea view to get a balcony and it was very very noisy every night. Even with earplugs in and the balcony door closed I was woken at about 5am every morning by someone who left their dog out barking loudly and incessantly for 30 minutes, just on and on and on. The bin men also came every day and made a right racket, and we were up on the 6th floor! If you want a decent kip, get a room overlooking the gardens I think. The food was definitely not 4*. Same thing for breakfast every day, only variation was sometimes sprouts were served up for breakfast, yes really, sometimes it was carrots, sometimes aubergines and courgettes!! Very fatty bacon, spicy sausages, same anemic pastries, teeny tiny coffees that you needed 3 of to make a normal cup size,. No labels on anything at all, it was guess the breakfast item for some things! They didn't even know what marmalade was. Thank God I looked at the reviews and didn't go half board! The hotel has a lovely roof top bar and restaurant where the drinks are a bit pricey but view is lovely. It was so dark though that we had to get the waiter to bring a lamp to even read the drinks menu, so dark you wouldn't be able to see what was dished up!! It also had a lovely sun terrace and shallow pool with (unmanned) bar area. This hotel is not geared up for the English, probably 95% of residents were German, and it is not a 4* compared to other 4* hotels I've stayed at. Also, beware of a sting in the tail when you leave. We booked with Tui and there was no mention in the brochure or online of any extra charges yet we were charged room tax and insurance when we checked out.

A modern well presented hotel with stunning views across the bay. We stayed in the superior double with sea view and after speaking to others it was definitely worth paying the extra for this room, as other rooms were a lot smaller. Our room was spacious with a great sized bathroom with walk-in shower. Service in the hotel was good but prices in the bar were nearly double what you would pay in other local bars/restaurants. Housekeeping was good but could have been a little bit better. Food in the hotel was average at best in the restaurant, little choice on offer and very repetitive. Even though we had half board we ate out most nights. Breakfast was ok but nothing special, my advice would be to go bed/breakfast and eat out, there are plenty of really good restaurants near the hotel, which are very reasonably priced serving good quality food.

He had a lovely stay at the Palmon, the staff were lovely, particularly Maria who was the hostess at breakfast, she was very sweet with our baby. The bar staff were all very accommodating. We had treatments at the spa which were good, and we enjoyed using the jacuzzi and pool (although the pool was quite cold!). Again, the staff were lovely. I used the gym a few times, it's very small and doesnt offer too much, and is quite airless in there, but I still had a good workout each time. We decided to go out for trips to Kotor and Dubrovnik and the reception staff were very good in helping us organise the days out. We stayed b&b. The breakfast was ok. Although the "hot" food was luke warm at best, so we stuck to yogurt and bread for breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable. We were disappointed that the smart TV in the room was not hooked up to the internet, so the only british TV channel we had was the news. I ended up watching Netflix on my phone. We were a little disappointed that the sun beds on our terrace were taken mid way through our holiday. I understand it was the end of the season and things were being put into storage, but to not tell us I felt was a bit rude. I felt that it was a bit of an invasion of privacy having people in my room apart from cleaners, removing furniture without us knowing they would be doing that. The hotel overall is really lovely and modern. It doesnt necessarily fit in with the surroundings, as the part of town that it is in is a tad run down. But there are lovely places to eat locally, the private beach is nice, and the pool area is very clean and modern. Definitely a good place to stay if you want to use as a base to explore Montenegro and the south of Croatia

Beautiful hotel, amazing pool and sea right behind it, good breakfast and very good room service. Only points to raise: staff too eager to carry cases into lift and then stand in the room waiting for tips (this happened to our 2 young daughters who happened to get into another lift to us- staff followed them into the room and made them both feel very uncomfortable. No rep in the hotel to help with issues! One of our suitcases got damaged at the airport- no help in the hotel. Transfer from the airport was 3 hours- including a ferry crossing- not mentioned in any communications beforehand!

Dear Eva R, We really appreciate the time you invested in writing the review and sharing the experience with others in this online community. Thank you for praising the hotel in general - pool, breakfast and service. For the points you raised, I already talked with Front office manager and made an action plan. We will do more training with the new bell boy guys in order avoiding this kind of uncomfortable situation in the future. Our job is to make your stay memorable and to present home away from home to all our guest and it will be our goal in the future. Many regards from Herceg Novi! Bojan Ilic, General Manager

The hotel itself looks like a prison. The promenade around is all dirty, like the whole city. The Spa is one of the most disgusting in the world. The locker room is old and damaged. The water in the pool is ice-cold. Service is fantasticlly primitive but the prices are outrageously high. I would't recommend it to anyone.

Dear Vanzemaljac-000, Thank you again for posting the review, but now in English instead of the previous one in Russian that was deleted - since it was written in a rude manner. This time little better I must admit. I hope this review will be deleted also, since it is not representing realistic picture of the hotel itself and it is malicious. I will let other readers to assess your review! Sincerely, Bojan Ilic, General Manager
