The place is very clean and cosy that it exceeds the quality of a 5 star hotel.
I've witnessed the cleaning of the appartment right next to ours after the guests were gone, and the cleaning lady was there for the whole day cleaning every detail of the place from top to bothom.
The staff is very friendly and I'll definitely reserve the accomodation again when I visit Herceg Novi the next time.
The appartments at the end of the hall have a nice terace with a beautifull view of the bay so I recommend you reserve one of those if you like spending time looking at the see.
The old town is just 15 minutes away, and the place has its own private parking for your car for extra 5€ a day, or you can buy a daily ticket at the "trafika" store and park your car on the street in front.

We went to Montenegro for the first time this year without through preparation - it was an instant trip. So I was not well-aware of where to go and why. I choosed the villa due to positive reviews and location of the place - quite close to Chroatian border just 1 hour drive if there is no line at the border.
The staff is very nice and polite and responsive and rooms clean and rather spacious wigh good furniture. The location is just 20 meters from beach line and embarkment with cafes, small shops etc. But noise isolation is very poor-(( There was a door to the neighbours from our room and I heard everything happening behind the door even caughing. There is a club very close to the villa with extremely loud music during night times. During the first nights of our stay I could hardly sleep but then the parties were over. Right around the corner you find a restaurant which is decent to eat. But do not expect much - decent means decent- home-made food and nice friendly staff
The key point of dissatisfaction or may be not meeting the expectations arised from the villa description is the beach. When I read 7 kilometers of beathes I iagined lots of space you can bathe and walk. But the beatches are actually rather narrow with stone or platform, all paid (around 7 Euro for a tent and bench). For me it is not the place for a good sea-shore rest especially with kids. We had a car and were lucky to go wherever we want. But next time if I want sea-rest I would definetely choose another location especially taking into account that the price for the villa is higher then I found in other places with wider and more appropriate beaches near by

This is a very nice sparthotel close to the promenade along the beach. Paid for s room facing the street but hot a bit of seawiev also. Was recommended a very nice restaurant, just 10 min walk along the bay and facing the marina. Wifi and parking was free and the room was really cheap.

We stayed there for 4 days, it is a lovely hotel and we will come back for sure. Centrally located, with only 2 min (slow) walk down to the beach. Every night we enjoyed walks to either Igalo on your right or Herceg Novi to your left. Three lovely girls at the reception (which is open 24/7) Ivana, Ana and Svetlana will make all of your wishes come true :-) Rooms are spacious and clean. Loved it!!!

Just got back from staying there 2 weeks. There is a lot to be said about the place, I'll try to be short. We were a party of 15 persons, and occupied 4 rooms.

Good things:

Ana and Ivana are really sweet and helpful with anything you could possibly need during your stay.

The location is (almost) perfect, close to several beaches, and right between the old city of Herceg Novi and Igalo.

The top apartement is pretty awesome, lots of space and great views from all 4 (!) balconies.

The studio apartements with sea-view are pretty spacious and the balcony is great.

Not so good things:

The apartements with one bedroom, that are supposed to sleep 5 persons are really small. The kitchen has a double bed and a table that seats two persons, and the tiny balcony kan seat only three persons, and even that is a stretch. No place to sit down and relax in the evening.

Across the street is "Peoples Club", that starts playing really loud music (and a really bad DJ as well), making it impossible to enjoy the lovely evenings on the balconies, simply because it is impossible to make conversation over the music. But the apartements are soundproofed, so none of us had any trouble sleeping at night.

Room cleaning was good, but a little unpredictable and not always on our request. Although, one apartement had loads of emty bottles under one of the beds, and the were not removed during the two weeks we stayed there.

The awesome top-apartement had loose toilet-seats and hanging showerheads. Things that are easy to fix. Strange.

So, if you know the above, and it's ok by you, you'll have a good stay.

My Husband and I stayed at the Apart-hotel Kukoljac last year at the start of a two week exploration trip around Montenegro. We booked a seaview apartment at very late notice and were given a slight discount. I dealt with Ana who was very helpful and replied to my emails reasonably quickly. The only problem we had was that the fax number she supplied didn't work ! The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and had a great balcony which was lovely to sit out on at night. Basic by Western standards but we quickly realised during our trip that this hotel was one of the best. Very near the front promanade lined with bars, resturants and shops so slightly noisey at night but not enough to disturb sleep. We also hired our car from Apart-Hotel Kukoljac which was far from the new model they advertise but it was OK and did the job with no problems.

I had to visit Herceg Novi on business and was looking for a good hotel but it turned out there are no real hotels there. This place came highly recommended but I hate to say this, this was a huge disappointment. The room was dirty which came as a shock. I was told that they operate as a hotel but the only thing they actually did was replace towels. Room service, forget about it. The view from the room was nice. This place has free WiFi and will arrange transportation from and to the airport (which will cost you 40 euros in one direction). One thing you also need to take into consideration is that they don’t accept credit cards, only cash! Sleep quality was poor as was the whole experience….

Stayed in this apartment for a week as I was attending a wedding. Received a very warm welcome from staff who were very helpful; they also picked us up from the airport and took as back when we flew home (40€ each way).

My 2 sisters and myself stayed in one room with a double bed and sofa bed, both were very comfortable.
You can get a 1 hour full body massage for 15€ locally but if you want the to come to you it's an extra 5€ to cover the taxi.

The room overlooked the sea and was very clean apart from the floor (if you walk barefoot your feet get filthy).Towels and sheets are changed every day which to me is a waste. Not sure why they don't use the same process as most hotels and just ask guests to leave towels they want replaced on the floor.

The electric hob was confusing, the control knobs had 1-9 so you'd assume 9 was the hottest but apparently it's 1. When boiling a kettle you need to push the button up rather than down so everything is the reverse of what it is in the UK, not a problem but we waited 45 minutes for some eggs to boil before we realised something was not right 😂.

The hotel itself is situated right by the promenade where you can walk rights along the coastline. The downside is the DJ that plays his music until the early hours of the morning. However the rooms have 2 sets of double glazed doors that lead onto the balcony but on Saturday night, while you couldn't hear the music, the bass came through loud and clear. Most other nights were not so bad and the double glazed doors did their job.

There is no beach on this stretch of coast, there are rocks that people sit/lay on or shingle and if you come out of the apartment and go directly down the hill to the promenade and turn right you can walk right along as far as you can to a small sandy stretch (there's a volleyball net in the water as a landmark). The water is so shallow you can lay down and keep cool while sunbathing.

I'm told by locals that the mud like clay just under the surface of the sand is very therapeutic and people come from miles around to rub it into their joints, leave it on to dry for 10 minutes to bake in the sun then wash it off. Done 3 times daily is apparently good for arthritis and other ailments but it must not be rubbed anywhere near the heart (so I'm told).

Food and drinks were very reasonable, a glass of red wine (generous portion) cost 1.80€, vodka and coke 3.50€.

If you get a taxi into the main square make sure that you get the apartment staff to order it for you. I paid 1.60€ booking through the apartment and my sister caught a cab that was dropping someone off outside the apartment and they charged her 5€ for the same distance.

Navigating the streets of Herceg Novi is an adventure. One way streets make it hard at times to arrive at your destination when you drive past it!
Once we arrived, we were greeted by our friendly concierge. She was fantastic, making us feel right at home. She explained to us a few things that would make getting around easier.
It was this that made the initial trip in feel like it was well worth it.
The apartments themselves are great. Very clean and spacious, and enough for the 4 of us. We forgot to bring towels (hey, it was a last minute decision to come to the coast), however the lady on duty was right onto it. She gave us towels to use whilst there. Perfect and awesome service!
Apartments are very close to the beaches and all the restaurants. It's pretty much central to everything making it a perfect apartment for families with small children.
The hospitality, cleanliness and location make this one of those places I won't forget. Thanks heaps to all the lovely staff for making our stay enjoyable! Will recommend this to anyone who wishes to visit Herceg Novi in the future.

Clean self-catering (not that I needed it!) apartments in Herceg Novi, a two minute walk from the long lively promenade with its bars and restaurants and beaches (well placed for an early swim when the beach is still deserted!). Ample space with a balcony, daily cleaning, A/C, free wifi (nothing unusual in Montenegro thankfully), a couple of local stores within easy walking distance for buying provisions and drinks for the in-room fridge, and helpful, friendly staff speaking good English. Not luxurious but very comfortable and convenient and, at least during my stay, apparently well sound-proofed.
