Royal Horizon Baobab Resort was an excellent place to stay. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. This country is French speaking, however as English is my primary language with very limited French, several staff members were able to speak and understand English which made my stay more pleasant. The rooms and amenities were quite adequate. The beds are on the small size in the single rooms (single bed). The grounds are well kept. I took walks outside the resort and felt quite comfortable and safe walking among the local residents in the area. A lot of small local stores selling crafts etc. and owners requesting you to come in to view their wares, some are a bit pushy but remains respectful if you decline visiting their shops. This is quite understandable as one wants to make a living and competition is strong. This can work to the benefit of visitors giving you bargaining power making bartering quite interesting. A must place to visit and stay. I am defiantly returning, hopefully in the near future.

We went to Senegal for the first time and it was a large complex for us and All Inclusive, we had our doubts.
But once we arrived everything was well organised, although it is a larger complex than we are used to on holidays, but you hardly notice it when you are in the holiday mood. The houses on the beach are fine, air conditioning, good bed and within 3 steps you are on the beach and in front of your house you have 2 sunbeds with a fixed parasol. The food is delicious and there is always something you like on the buffet tables. You can eat ala carte once and that is fine too. The hotel also offers that you can eat langustine once for an additional fee, which is more than fine. It is a great resort for 1 week in Senegal and an excellent location for undertaking various excursions.

If you want to sit quietly, take a house from series 15-**, these are quietly located, we had the house in the 19-** series (at the back)

There is one downside, we did not always find the cocktails very tasty, cocktails at the bar near reception are the best and of consistent quality
And oh yes, the coffee at breakfast hmmm, it wasn't the best either, but later we went to the pool bar and got some nice coffee from fresh beans there.

We loved every moment at the resort. The food is sublime, the staff is more than pleasant, always big smiles, the set up is African style and we still consider one of our best holidays. The only minor point is the restaurant à la carte; we both ordered the fillet and it was not nice. The Manager offered a second dinner but we rejected as the food at the several buffets was so nice that we did not want to spoil another dinner. Also the entertainment was very professional. I would suggest to everyone, from couples to friends, to families.

Just came back from a short visit to this hotel. We are staying in a different hotel but wanted to have dinner in the Royal Horizon Baobab. We are both vegetarians and therefore asked to have a quick look at the buffet before paying 20.000 CFA per person for their night pass. That has never been a problem in countless restaurants/hotels we have been before. But obviously it was here and they refused. We explained the reason and asked the guy from the reception to check with the manager. He did and the answer was that they are selling no night pass this evening. We were literally kicked out from this place. I’m traveling for more than 30 years and this was the first time something like that happened to me. Especially in Senegal, the home of Teranga, I would have never expected such a rude behavior. Please avoid this place - it’s a real shame.

This hotel requires you to call them to book, after calling they request you to send an email with the desired dates then they confirm and request you to pay 50% one month ahead without sharing their bank details and when I sent them an email asking the bank details they said your booking is cancelled and there is no availability regardless of your plan or trip schedule.

This hotel is such a joke the way they handle their booking and payment.

In plain English do not go there if you dont wat your trip to be messed up.

We have resided at the Royal Baobab since August 18 and end of stay on August 23.
We are really disappointed because when we arrived we got stuck in the bathroom twice!
For all meals there are not enough staff to do the work.
Every morning at breakfast since our arrival we have to take our cups and towels ourselves because despite our requests with the staff they are overwhelmed!!
I stayed 2 times at the Riu Baobab and frankly this is the best Pension we could do in the area.
We wanted to test this one but I know we will not come back and I will not recommend it to anyone.
There is not a good value Award , the quality of the products is not enough in our opinion!!

This is a hotel that we have been frequenting for many years; our last stay was in November 2019.
We just spent two weeks in November at 3908 and like some people we no longer recognize this place
The behavior of certain servers,
The systematic reservation of the best located tables for regulars, tables inaccessible even if unoccupied because RESERVED!!!
The deckchairs taken by storm at dawn, because sarongs are left there at night...
The rudeness of the rich locals arriving en masse at the weekend….
A director impervious to any discussion…
The dilapidated rooms, very tired bedding
The odious behavior of the 2 female receptionists towards our Senegalese goddaughter not from the serial, whom we had invited for €42 per day, shocked her as well as us...
And to say that it is the country of Terranga🇸🇳
A joke ?
Stop putting up signs informing you of the removal of towels on the deckchairs, no one cares!
Fortunately the gardens are magnificent and well maintained by passionate gardeners….
For massages, don't hesitate... the Africa Queen wellness salon... the team is amazing👍
This is our feeling!

The Most Royal Experience in Senegal over and over and over again! It’s not my first visit to Baobap ( yes that’s how we call it) & I am always back with more people along! We had a much needed long weekend with a group of hard working ladies & youngsters. The hotel made sure we had the most spacious and cleanest rooms. We were entertained by different activities every day, all day and night. The show was astonishing as ever; The food was delish; so many choices that you cannot stop refilling your plate but that’s OK because later ,you can take fitness classes with the BEST PT in town aka coach Pierre. The attention to detail when it comes to accommodating our requests is outstanding; the crew made sure they got us a birthday cake & sang to one of the girls with us! Royal Baobap never disappoints. We will always come back!

Great stay at the Royal Horizon baobab hotel. First of all, a hotel with an incredible view. Very clean complex (room, common area, etc.), very well maintained and magnificently planted with trees and flowers.
Extremely kind, caring and helpful employees. A quality buffet, varied and prepared for certain dishes before your eyes. The drinks are all prepared with mineral water, even the ice cubes. Very good entertainment team, notably Issa. For excursions, don't hesitate to go see Jean Claude (little green and blue hut) on the beach next to the hotel's children's club and the water sports area. He can prepare outings for you according to your desires and needs and will help you discover his country that he loves so much.
Magnificent, unforgettable trip. Everything was perfect.

I had a wonderful stay at this Pension. The staff was very attentive, the animators very pleasant, the room was impeccable and very quiet. The meals were varied and delicious. I enjoyed the excursions planned by kappa with exceptional guides I highly recommend this property. Senegal will remain a destination that will remain etched in my memory because the population is welcoming and touching.
