This location is the embodiment of "good enough". The Wi-Fi, unless you are on one of the lower floors, might as well be non-existent. The rooms need some TLC, especially the floors, which creak very loudly in some places and make moving around and trying not to wake your spouse up a tricky job. However, the staff is very nice and accommodating. This site is also very close to a couple of good restaurants and several pharmacies and small kiosks where you can purchase items for travel. All in all, I would consider staying here again next time I am in Iasi.
We were in Iasi for a conference at Cuza University and chose Pension Ambiance City for its proximity and (supposed) availability of parking. There were balconies without any furniture; the view included construction debris on Oscar’s roof. The most frustrating issue was parking which consists of two or three places on the sidewalk outside the entry. Park there and you risk damage from people hauling luggage into the hotel. Otherwise you park along a narrow street; we got a street location across from the hotel entry, which gave us some confidence with regard to the security for our car with non-Romanian plates. Recommended with some hesitation if you come by car.…
