I have stayed here on 3 trips to Batad over the last 5 years.
All accommodation in Batad is basic with no fan, private bathroom, wardrobes etc.
I paid 250 pesos for my room. Note, it can get very hot in the night time in the room without the window open so bring insect spray. The toilets and showers are on the ground floor but are kept clean.
The view on the balcony is the best of all the hotels being the iconic, postcard view but one wonders why the renovations remain incomplete providing and ugly surrounding to the hotel. The rooms don't take advantage of the views as the setting suggests they should due to the incomplete renovations.
The red local rice for 25 pesos and the thermo of tea for 40 pesos are my pick to accompany a meal. The staff seemed pleasant and helpful.
All hotels are very close to each other but this one has the best view and is close to all the paths down to the village and around the amphitheatre.

Simple room. Clean, great view. 200pp. Shared shower/toilet - hot water.
Food is great and they serve a solid pizza! Portion sizes are very good.
Spacious lodge and quite airy - the rooms although small, are light.
Great staff.

It's the most inexpensive "hotel" you will ever stay in. Yes, it is basic, however the people are very nice and the views unparalled by other places in Batad, which is VERY small. It's a family run operation and they do a great job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. If you can manage to get yourself all the way to Batad, that is an accomplishment in and of itself. Simon's has been around forever and delivers a basic room with killer views.

We , a family of four, stayed here for a night. In the morning someone stole quite a bit of money and my husbands credit cards. After filing a complaint with the banaue police station, they found some of our money. Turns out it was the son of Simon, the owner, who stole the money!! And it wasn't the first time. Some locals told us it had happened a few times. Anyway the inn is ok but I certainly can't recommend it.

The worst kind service i have experienced in my whole life.Discorteous arrogant waitress(,the daughter in law of the owner)..I ordered food, she delivered the wrong one but since she's busy attending the others she made a scene by debating with me as costumer insisting to accept what she had served or else she'll take it back but will require me to pay the same. She's very rough and discroteus in dealing with guest..I won't ever recommend the place to tourist

I spent one night in Simon view in Batad. We were the only travelers. In the morning staff or relatives to staff have stole money in our both purses in our room when we were at bathroom. We only realized it in the evening when we were back in banaue because they had left enough money in purse to pay. They have stolen 12000 pesos. So checking tripadvisor reviews, I realized its not the first time it happened. We went to police station to declare it and when we said "we had been stolen at simon" the chief of.police said "simon...again". So this is not an accident..I have nothing to say about the place but please go to somewhere else nearby its the same view . I felt so bad. This is the first time this situation happens to me. Its a shame because it seems to be an habit. I m even sure many travelers realized later like us because the.thieves are perfectly organized. I remember them. They were talking with the staff drinking beers at 9am. So the staff let this happened.

Simon's Viewpoint Inn can have very different evaluations depending on your own point of view. We stayed there for one night during our Banaue-Batad-Sagada trip. The accommodation was chosen by the travel agency. The first impression after short walk from jeepney terminal was stunning: the view from inn's terrace is as beautiful as you can imagine.
We chose to sleep in a native hut outside the main building, which you enter by a ladder. This was good choice, because it was cool, clean, spacious and quiet. We were lulled to sleep by the hum of distant Tappiya waterfall that was audible even over distance and mountain ridge. Of course, there was no furniture except beds and we did not expect any.
The real problem are common toilets and bathrooms. There are only two of each for the whole inn, and because some twenty other tourists were staying here the same time, there were queues in the morning. The facilities became soon wet and dirty and there was no visible effort by the staff to clean them.
The dining area is spacious and pleasant, being the shaded extension of the viewing terrace. The menu is typical Filipino plus several kinds of pizza. We fell for that and ate disappointing creations: it seems that the same commercially made corpus serves as pizza base and pitta bread.
The staff was pleasant and forthcoming and my wife enjoyed excellent one hour massage for mere 300 pesos. In summary, the inn is acceptable accommodation for one night only, and you probably can not expect anything better in Batad due to remoteness and difficult accessibility. If you are squeamish about comfort and hygiene, better stay in Banaue and make Batad just a day trip.

The rooms are clear and super simple. We stayed there for 2nights. You have to pay for hot shower and charge your phone/camera etc.
It looks like some construction work was stopped some time ago and the amphitheater view is slightly "damaged" by concrete pillars when looking from the room's window. The view is still nice though. The food is tasty and the portions big enough for a big man. The cooking is done with too much oil which makes it too greasy to weak stomachs.
Nonetheless it has a great vibe and smily staff.

Spent 3 days, 2 nights in Batad. Didn't stay here but ate here more than in other restaurants. All restaurants there basically serve the same food; they just vary in price and quanity. Simon's offers the best value for money for the same kind of food found in other restaurants (Rita's and Hillside Inn, among others). I recommend Simon's rice. At Php 150.00, it serves you generous portion of red unpolished rice, vegetables, fried chicken and egg. Nothing too fancy with the food there, but you will appreciate it and understand why it's a bit pricey (for example, fried egg costs up to 30.00/pc) because it's harder to transport goods up in their place. They literally carry kilos of food up.

Coffee is diluted in all of the restaurants we tried. "Hot choco" is basically a sachet of milo and hot water. Everything is very basic. The staff are accommodating and warm.

Nothing great about this inn, but the same could be said about other hillside inns as well.

Given the nature of this destination (rural and isolated)--don't expect any 5-star hotel ambiance and service. Everything is basic from the rooms to the food. Food may be priced higher than expected because of obvious logistics concerns. Rooms are small, just good enough for you to sleep in. No private bathroom. But for a different indigenous experience, get the traditional Ifugao hut instead of a normal room.
