This hotel has deserved more than 5 stars for the way the staff makes you feel welcome. They treated us so wonderfully and went out of their way for us for whatever request we had. Every day, we had a large buffet by the pool. It might be chilly in the mornings, but we enjoyed sitting out by the pool area a lot and spent afternoons there too after our trips to relax. Ica is a crazy, loud and bustling city and the hotel, separated from the main streets, feels like an oasis. The hotel is in a residential area with access control and you can walk to the restaurants even at night safely. There are several good ones in the neighborhood. Ica is central point for many sights: Nasca and Huacachina desert are among the most popular. When going to Ica, I can only recommend to stay at Balistra. …
The staff are lovely and welcoming. They put out a buffet breakfast (even though we were the only guests). We didn't use the pool cos the weather wasn't great (winter) but it was a good size to swim lengths. The hotel is located in a very safe neighbourhood. It was, however, very cold in the hotel because of its design. Of course, once the sun comes out it would be fine, but as we were there in winter the mornings and evenings were very chilly. Also, the double bed was very small.
The hotel looks like is under construction, but that is not the case. I think they left unfinished parts in case they need to expand in the future, but not construction is being done at the moment so do not worry about noises. The hotel is inside a "gated community" and the are was safe. We walked around to restaurants and a mini-mart and it was fine. The hotel has underground free garage, a big pool that looks inviting in the hot sun of Ica, and the rooms were very modern and comfortable with everything we needed (expect for cloths iron, but that was the case in all our hotels in Peru). It is very close to the duns (dunas) and oasis, only a 15 minute drive to there with the crazy traffic in the city. I suggest not to hire tours from the hotel front desk since they are fine but limited in options and higher price that hiring them at the oasis itself for sand-boarding and buggies or quad-motors or to call to Pisco destilerias and arrange the visits. One more important thing, the hotel has AC units that work wonderful. Wifi is a litle slow, but is has a router on each floor…
I arrived at 8pm and needed to book quickly, near my job. its still in construction but also y always clean. - Great location - Good breakfast - Very nice bed - Good people at service. Very well for that price.
This hotel is a very nice hotel, we stayed for just one night but it was enough for us to love it. The man at the reception was very kind and polite, he made everything to make sure our stay was perfect. The hotel is located in a safe area with access strictly controlled by private security guards, so our car was safe even if it was parked in an open area. The room was large, with new furniture, air conditioning and was clean as it was the bathroom. Breakfast was acceptable.
