I stayed at "El Patio" twice; bookends for an Alpimayo/Cordillera Blanca trek. I was comfortable in the rooms that were provided to me, but the real substance of this hotel is in the "extras"; a great kitchen and reasonable prices, wonderful hosts and a quiet retreat from the hub-bub of nearby Huaraz. Thermal baths are just up the road, as... More

We stayed in this friendly boutique hotel while trekking in the area. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a very pleasant patio to relax in, as well as a charming lounge with open fire. We had dinner here twice, and the food was good. The owners were exceptionally helpful. The hotel is out of town a bit, so... More

If you don't want to stay in Huaraz, this is a wonderful alternative. There isn't much nearby, but there is quick access to town for food, market, shops etc. We spent 3 nights before and 1 night after our Santa Cruz trek with Peruvian Andes Adventures. The hotel is larger and sprawling than it at first appears, and there are... More

This place is about a ten to fifteen minute drive from Huaraz. It sits right of the main road so a quick cheap cab ride back and forth is easy. The place is absolutely beautiful. When we first walked up, the first thing I noticed was that has a huge iron gate. Stepping over that threshold, you find yourself in... More

We enjoyed four nights at Patio as our base to tour the Callejón de Huaylas. Service was excellent, the rooms clean and with excellent heat. Very good showers. Breakfast was good as well. It has a small garden where kids can play, and a relaxing patio with rocking chairs to relax for a bit before going out on tour. It... More

My husband and I spent three nights at the Patio while getting ready for our trek in the Cordillera Huayhuash. The hotel is about a 10 minute drive out of town, in a very tranquil and quiet location. Away from the hustle and bustle of Huaraz. It's definitely easy to get a good night sleep here. The hotel feels like... More

The place is quiet , its like a home away from home. the breakfast is good , the staff is helpful and friendly. The room is clean and the garden is refreshing to the eye with blooming flowers. They have lots of room choices and it is good when you are traveling with a group.

Arrived to El Patio de Monterrey early morning and the staff was eager to help me. Breakfast was ready as well as the room. Cozy hotel, which was originally a colonial style residence. Rooms well equipped. Far from noisy Huaraz. Bus stop just one metre away from the entrance. Good breakfast and dinner. Customer service was second to none. The... More

Last year we fell in love with its charm and its staff. This year four nights reconfirmed El Patio as a perfect base for exploring the Callejon de Huaylas and Chavin. Cars and Quechua speaking drivers were arranged for our trips. Nestled away from the hustle of Huaraz, it's a pleasant oasis. The owners quietly and efficiently attended to the... More
