This is a pretty easy going place that is very cheap but still provides decent facilities. A bunch of toilets and showers with hot water (you really need that in Huaraz), fairly decent wi-fi and even a climbing wall. There is also a place to store your bags if you are going on a hike like I did. I have...

The rooms were clean, but a little cold. There is a useable kitchen and bathrooms. The shower was incredible. The staff are friendly and there is a climbing wall if it takes your fancy. Arturo was also very lovely and hospitable offering us tea when we walked in the door. It is cheap and basic but great for budget travellers.

A relaxed place with cool owners. I came for a few days and ended up staying a week after planning various climbing trips with the people I met. The owners are very friendly and laid back and always hang out with you in the hostal. You can also rent their climbing gear which was new and good quality. And they...

I recently stayed here with my brother and my wife and had a great time. The price is also right. Arturo (staff member) was so good to us. I had altitude sickness and he made me tea. He is so social with his guests that we even shared a meal together. The rooms are nothing fancy but nonetheless you have...

A nice friendly place to stay at. The owner is very nice and the rooms are really good. They have a nice kitchen with good gas burners. I went there by myself and with in one day found great climbing partners.

We made Monkeywasi our home base for our climbs in the Cordillera Blanca for one month. It's close to la Soledad, a nice square. The owner Gustavo speaks good English and is always glad to help out. The people you meet in Monkeywasi are all very laid back and there are barbecues from time to time. Gustavo, who helps out...

Cheap at 20 soles a night, I used this place as my base between treks and mountains. Was great to hang out with other climbers and to hear about their travels. Downside is that hot water only available from 9am until it runs out around 4/5, and the organisation is a bit haphazard. My bed wasn't clean the second visit...

Gustavo the owner is cool, very chill, and helpful. Dorm beds are very affordable. In the span of a week that we were in Huaraz, we able to sleep in 2 different dorm rooms and even the private room right after we came back from our Santa Cruz trek. There's a kitchen to cook food, hot showers all day, and...

The hostel has everything you would need including hot showers / climbing wall. The rooms are quite basic, but the prices are very low and the beds are really comfy! Gustavo, the owner is unbelievably helpful with whatever problem, or if you're trekking / climbing around huaraz; a must!
