We really enjoyed the hospitality and the friendly ambience in the Lodge. The place has amazing energy. The view over the valley and Cordiliera Negra on one side and the Cordiliera Blanca with glaciers on the other is just stunning! The food was great. It is a perfect base for higher mountains trips. We went for a one day hike... More

Unfortunately this review is long overdue - I visited Charlie and his lodge in November 2014 when I came out to Lima for business. I'm an avid hiker and was keen to check out Huaraz - although I only had a couple of days to explore. Stumbling across the Llanganuco Mountain Lodge on Tripadvisor, I was immediately captivated by Laguna... More

Hi Ray, It is great to hear from you! You must be the crazy Californian Ultra runner that did just one night here and then ran up to Lake 69 from the trailhead in just 1:30hr, with no acclimatisation, you are an example to us all. I still haven't beaten that, embarrassingly, but did manage it in 2 hours with... More

When traveling with my mom and brother in Peru, we were looking for a place that was "IN" the mountains so they could have the real experience without having to travel in and out in one day. The Llanganuco Mountain Lodge provided just that! The room was super comfy with amazing views of the sunset and a delightful shower. We... More

Well, where should I begin? Even more than a month after we left this place, I am struggeling to find accurate words for the level of awesomeness that we faced at Llanganuco Mountain Lodge. At the very beginning we wanted to get accomodation in a top-level Lodge in Huaraz, but "unfortunately" this place was fully booked. So, after a little... More

My husband and I stayed here for five days and had the best time of our lives. Charlie and his team at Llanganuco have created an amazing way to experience Huascaran National Park. The rooms were super comfortable, there's a gas stove to keep you warm on chilly nights, and the shower is wonderfully hot (which is great after a... More

For anyone that knows the area, even the best hotels in Huaraz are a drab 3 stars at best, however, Charlie from Llaganuco Lodge took a remote environment surrounded by indigenous villages, right outside of Huascaran National Park and not only made it better than any hotel in the area, did it in an environmentally friendly way. For anyone that... More

The local staff and the owner are the nicest people ever, the treking guides are excellent. The meals are delicious, they pack your lunch and snacks for the day, i loved breakfast, it's all healthy and delicious. There was an indian family which was vegetarian and the staff cooked the plates different for them, so there's no problem with that.... More

Dear Christiane, Many thanks for reviewing us so promptly after your visit and for opening a Tripadvisor account. All of us, the Alpacas and dogs included, loved having you and your family at the lodge for 4 nights over New Year´s for the 8pm NY celebrations so that everyone could wake up bright and early on NY´s day for their... Charlie, the owner and his staff were incredibly kind, professional and considerate to help make this experience amazing! Meals, prime location, cute sleeping area and resources definitely make this worth every cent! The guides are local so they work hard giving back to the community, plus you get the local touch to the hikes. Sunrise at porchelo pass the immediately... More

I recently stayed here and there are many great things to say about the hotel: The location outside Huascaran National Park is brilliant, and the beds and showers were really nice. The breakfast and packed lunches are simple but the dinners were really spectacular. The volunteer staff (Chris and Steph) who oversaw our stay were also really lovely, but they... More

Staying at Llanganuco Mountain Lodge is truly unique experience. The location is great for hiking Llanganuco lakes, the quality of food is something you wouldn't expect, and the staffs there (Charlie and Chris) are excellent at sharing their intimate knowledge around the area. The best thing is that after enjoying beautiful nature, you can share your experience with the small... More
