Beautiful hotel right on the river, just up from the train and bus station. Well located in the town and the bus down from Machu Picchu will drop you right at the front door. Excellent food and staff in general. We stayed here as part of a tour and everything was taken care of with ease and efficiency.

From the moment I stepped inside the front door of this hotel and noticed the sculptured vases, tapestries and sepia photographs of Machu Picchu, I knew I was in a very special place. I was given a welcome drink when I registered. My room had a large bathroom with a rain shower head and luxurious toiletries. The beds were very...

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Sumaq, particularly thanks to the outstanding service. Every single member of staff went out of their way to welcome us, and took the trouble to learn our names - most impressive. The room rate of 500 usd seemed on the high side at first, but we later discovered that this included a...

Excellent location and service. No complaints ... whatsoever. I would suggest however, that you request a room on the 2nd floor and over as there is a road right in front the hotel which could be a little noisy as the buses to MP tend to pass right in front he hotel.

We had an overnight stay at Sumaq Hotel during our visit to Machu Pichu. A great things from the hotel is that they pick up your bags at the train station upon arrival, and deliver them there 30 minutes before your train departure. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, and the staff was courteous and attentive. One bad thing...

The hotel is in an excellent location with dramatic views of the river. The decor, hotel staff service, and food also were excellent. Rooms were very comfortable. Our view was unique as the hotel is on a hillside, so a tropical garden was outside our window up to ground level. Afternoon tea was served also. Convenient location for walking in...

We just completed an 8 night, 9 day tour of Peru. The best accommodations were at the Sumaq Hotel. The rooms were spacious, and the staff was superb. The food was excellent. The markets and local restaurants were within walking distance. It was also easy to catch a shuttle to Machu Picchu. The river just outside at the end of...

From the moment you first enter the lobby you are smothered with attention. It starts with a warm towel, a welcome drink and unique snacks while you are being checked in. We had a lovely room with balcony overlooking the river rushing past. The river is loud but we found it to be soothing. Our bed was very comfortable. The...

We loved this hotel! The atmosphere was beautiful while a little understated. The room was very comfortable, with the river rushing by just across the small roadway. It was such a great sound! They treated us like royalty! Fun Pisco Sour and Ceviche cooking class and beautiful, sumptuous breakfasts and lunches! Very clean and a top notch staff that took...

The hotel is well located overlooking the river and was fairly empty when we stayed during the low season. We got a very good deal for a five-star hotel and I was more than happy with the comfort and facilities, with a spacious room with little balcony and a huge comfortable bed. An excellent dinner and breakfast were included in...
