We went with my friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them and the food as well as the attention of Kevin, Luz and Johanna was great. thank you. I highly recommend it, the tapas very good and the cake detail for the birthday girl, beautiful. The experience at El Mapi by Inkaterra was very nice. The music, the atmosphere and the staff very friendly and helpful.

We had been staying in beautiful, boutique hotels throughout peru and we arrived in El Mapi after walking the Inka Trail. On first impressions it seemed nice enough, if not a little impersonal but actually fell below par in a number of areas. On the plus side, the bedrooms are spacious and the beds large and comfortable. However, room requests for extra towels etc were not met, the corridors were noisy and the restaurant awful. Our evening meal was poor food served to us in a rush by unfriendly staff. The dessert was worse than something you would buy in Iceland. Our breakfast was actually good but was eaten in the semi dark. They did a good job at making sure our luggage arrived where it should. I think there are probably nicer hotels to stay in for a similar price in Aguas Calientes.

Our hotel stays in Peru were supposed to be 4-star. The tour company gave us wonderful hotels in all the other places, but booked El MaPi in Aguas Calientes, which fell way below our expectations. This hotel does not provide bath soap or shower gel, does not provide tissues (as in Kleenex), is not clean, and the breakfast buffet is not very hygienically presented! The room was set up for one guest instead of two - one bath towel, one hand towel, no wash cloth. And the one thing that was really disgusting was that they had an open trash can by the toilet for the soiled toilet tissue (you do not flush it down when in Peru - their system cannot handle it).

We traveled all over Peru staying in numerous hotels. We enjoyed all but this one. When you first arrive, it appears very nice. The outside decor is lovely and the rooms are nice. But then....very noisy. Nothing blocks out all of the sounds of people in the hallways, in the bar, in the restaurant and just walking by. In addition, we had reservations for our family of 11 and they refused to put out table together. Sometimes I can understand this but they put other tables together for other patrons and in the middle of the floor where there was a table for our number and was available, we were not seated. Service was slow. Food was good. There was much lacking here when this hotel could be one of the best if it tried a little harder to be customer-friendly. A special mention of Ronald who took us on a 1 1/2 hour birding experience---he was knowledgeable and nice and fun. He is a treasure.

the hotel might seems nice as soon as you arrive, but you will soon discover that under the surface it is not. Our frigo bar in the room was dirty with the beers of the previous guests, and when we ask the reception to make clean it while we were at dinner, they took notes but never did this. But the worst part was the breakfast. The only reason people stay in Aguascalientes is the Machu Picchu: so let’s say that 80% of the guests wake up early to cue for the bus to Mapi. This means lots of people will have breakfast same time and possibly with abundance. Ok at breakfast there was one waiter only that was trying her best to respond to guests’ requests but never close to that. We had to wait for cold milk for 10 minutes. There was no coffee left, no ham, no cheese only empty plates and this was only 6.30 am. Really disappointed

Dear guest, We are sorry to know that the experience at our property was not as expected and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Let me assure you that all our rooms are in perfect conditions before being assigned to our guest. Our Head of Housekeeping along with on duty supervisors are responsible for reviewing the rooms one by one and thus guarantee the comfort of our travelers. Regarding our breakfast service - served from 4am – is a schedule with enough demand, which makes the buffet replacement, take a few minutes, but our guests will never find it empty. We have reviewed with our restaurant department and they inform us that during the service of August 12th, were available six waiters, who performed their service normally and without registering any complaint by other guests. Thank you again for contacting us and for your feedback that will help us to keep improving. Regards,
