This is my second time staying here! I absolutely LOVE the environment! The staff have always been wonderful and it is such a cozy and unique place to stay. I love their focus on the environment as well, such a bonus! Their breakfast was amazing too, and starts at 4:30 am so if you want to get an early hike to Machu Picchu, you can go after having a great breakfast! I FOR SURE recommend this place!
The lady from Rupa Wasi picked us up from the train station and was very nice. It's located very well, like 1 block away from the main square and you do have to walk some stairs but it's totally worth it. The room we got was the honeymoon and it was perfectly packed! nice and big, beautiful bath, the shower was awesome, hot water! quite a nic experience of being safe combinaed with nature, big windows that help you see everything and if you wanna have a nice sleep, they als have black out curtains, bed was also very comfortable. We had to go early to machu picchu, so we went down to hav breakfast around 5 am and it was delicious. Great service!
We recently stayed in two rooms for two nights at the Rupa Wasi Lodge. The first and most important thing to note is that the staff are very friendly and try to be helpful. The gal in the afternoon even came and found me after I'd dropped 50 soles in the lobby! Super impressive. The kids stayed in the tree house room and loved it. We had the double room on top and it was nice, too. We'd just hiked 4 days to Machu Pichu so the climb up to the hotel and our rooms was tough, but worth it. The Treehouse Restaurant has delicious food, but small portions for us starving hikers. One star off because the breakfast is not vegan friendly. Strangely, the restaurant has several delicious vegan options, but the breakfast is eggs and yogurt and cereal. I asked if I could just have a big bowl of the delicious potatoes instead of eggs and bread, but was told "no". No soy milk for coffee either. Given that animal agriculture is a leading cause of our climate emergency and millions of people around the world are choosing the vegan lifestyle to help and/or for their health, having vegan options at breakfast should be available. …
Getting to the rupa wasi lodge and from the reception to the honeymoon lodge was definitely worth it (Aguas Calientes is on a steep hill side). As it is at the edge of Aguas Calientes, it is nice and quiet and the honeymoon suite gives a lot of privacy. Staff is friendly and takes good care of the luggage while you're visiting Machu Pichu.
Stayed in honey moon suite. Had an amazing stay. Really nice bath tub and view on Machu Picchu. Super friendly staff and hotel restaurant delicious too. Really enjoyed the tree house! Super super comfortable bed as well. Will definitely stay again!
