This hotel is very basic and fine if you just need a place to stay before going to Machu Picchu but make sure you book a River Room. The noise of the river is loud but nothing compared to the sound of the trains, which pass the hotel very regularly. The hotel is situated on the train tracks, so there... More

I traveled with my daughter and grandson and the only 3 bed unit faced the railroad track. We were told that the last train was at 9 pm. We were not aware that the trains would re-shift until midnight. Do not accept a room facing the trains. It sounds like a plane is coming in the room. With all of... More

Not sure why people complain about the river noise -- it's the best natural white-noise source imaginable. People pay money for machines that create less effective sleeping aids. Anyway, room was clean, decor was calming, overall experience was quite satisfactory for the money. Very large bathroom with lots of towels, etc. We had just come off 4 days on the... More

If you are looking to get more than 1 hour sleep this place is not for you. The train track is right outside the hotel and it felt like the flying Scotsman was coming through our hotel room. It's a real shame as the hotel was lovely and the staff were extremely kind. Not what you need when you're getting... More

I am personally a very light sleeper, I will wake up to any sort of small movement or noise but to my surprise, I actually like listening to the roaring river sound throughout the night. I find it relaxing and comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping while it was raining heavily outside. We stayed for 2 nights in our... More

While the rooms in this hotel are very nice, and the staff is friendly and accommodating, you are either facing a raging river or a railroad track (the one that runs through the middle of the pueblo). Either side is extremely noisy. We were on the railroad track side, facing the train station, and the noise was deafening. Occasionally, we... More

A hotel with a truly spectacular location just next to the roaring river. You can also ask for a room to the other side of the hotel, but this is right to the train station- so this is also rather noisy, but the last train arrives at 23, so you will get the best of a nights sleep.

We stayed at this hotel and we're very pleased with its location and the overall quality. The one concern we had was that the showers did not have consistent hot water. About 15 seconds of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water... :-( The staff was very helpful and the view of the river amazing. I would stay... More

A clean and simple hotel perfectly suited to an overnight stay. Nothing luxurious about it except the name, a plain basic room that was well used but clean and in good condition. The raging river outside was either somnolent or irritating. For me it was indeed pleasant and a far better option that the train line at the front door... More

we stayed here after finishing the Salkentay Trek, having spent a week in Cusco prior. This was hands down the nicest place we stayed and such a well deserved luxury after hiking through the mountains and jungle. It was quiet, clean and so comfortable. The rooms were well kept and totally clean, and even included some basic amenities, which we... More
