Detailed Reviews
McRoyal has the best location if you are needing to stay closer to the airport. The food is served in large portions and I particularly enjoyed their Caesar Salad and Chips. Although, I suggest they reconsider how they set cutlery on the dining tables of the restaurant.
I would say the rooms are average and in need of modern interior designing. I would also suggest the management consider providing a business centre for its clients because their office scanner was not functional so I had scan my business documents with my phone scanner (that sucked). WiFi is unavailable at McRoyal, but I hope management has plans to include that soon. WiFi is a must for all hotels in urban areas.
McRoyal expanding and soon to open their newly constructed wing, which will bring new life to the hotel. So I'm looking forward to come around in the future to experience the new hotel wing.
The customer service is friendly but should have regular in-house hospitality training to maintain the level of professionalism.
Overall, as a local traveller, based on the current service I experienced, I would give this hotel, 6.8 out of 10..

Clean, spacious hotel rooms located just a 5-minute drive away from the Mount Hagen airport. The staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant was excellent. However, no internet and the hotel could not run my credit card. Moreover, the room was quite noisy - any noise made in the hallway came right through the walls and door. Finally, the hotel is pricey for what you get (though no more so than other properties in the area).

Food was great, Service was reasonable. Environment is clean. however, just a few things that needs to be added to make the guests stay more comfortable. Provide toiletries and sanitary bins in the bathroom. Also no free Wifi access in rooms. Otherwise, overall Service was good. Great place to conduct Business Conference/Meeting

I had heard good things about this place sad but they are not true. Reception had booked me in on tbe wrong day saying they expected me the day before. Put me in a substandard room that smelt of damp and mould. Room walls dirty bathroom same. This room should be taken out of service untill they have repaired the leak from the shower that flows into the Bedroom area. Lighting is just 2 bare flouros no bed lamps. Wardrobe if gou can call it that is broken and reeks of damp and mould. Tje nice looking ponds are nothing more than pools of water full of algae ripe for breeding mosquitos. The staff are pleasant enough about the only saving grace.

How is this hotel recommended by Trip Advisor? The service from the reception to the restaurant is poor. No hot water in the deluxe room (new wing). I had to walk to another room in the old wing to have a hot bath. Food was served quite late. It got to me cold and half cooked (pork). The hot chocolate I ordered as part of my dinner, was instead brought to my room at 10pm just as I was ready to go to sleep. Nothing royal about this hotel.

Had a great time at the gaming lounge and Hunkles bar. Very spacious and luxurious rooms and the staff were very kind. The food was amazing and I suggest the Caesar Salad. The location is convenient and it's surrounded by beautiful mountains. I recommend McRoyal Hotel to all traveller's.

It is the best hotel in Mt. Hagen. Luxurious and spacious brand new rooms, modern facilities, state of the art technology and lots of fun. Also conveniently located. The staff are the friendliest and the food is amazing. I fully recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mt. Hagen.

We had no idea this gem existed until we unexpectedly encountered it one day. The fishponds are a nice touch. The service is friendly, the food good and (for PNG) reasonably priced (K30-40). The hotel grounds and inside are beautifully and recently upgraded. We took a look at the rooms available and they too are good, priced at K400-450 at the time of this review.

Very friendly patient staff. Will stay here again when back in Mt Hagen.
Rooms are big and clean, food is fine for the area.
We felt safe and secure at this property and that certainly helped with resting.

Hi Vicky, I'm not quite certain where the Show is - likely Queens Park, which is about 25-35minutes drive away from the McRoyal, dependent on the traffic. However, would recommend you contact Nellie at the McRoyal Reception via email which is available on the hotel website. Sadly TripAdvisor is not permitting me to send the email address.
All the best.
Yes we do have packages. We also have special family rooms for different trip purposes. Feel free to email us.
Thank you
