Front desk service is terrible, on checkout I they tried to charge for my prepaid room, after some discussion I was told this was fixed. I booked and payed by Wotif and find that despite having the bill corrected at checkout my credit card has been charged for the room. Not happy and no response from the Hotel. DO NOT...

Food was fresh and plentiful. A variety of dishes to choose from which were all flavourful and tasty. The dessert buffet was a pretty sight. Lovely staff were very helpful and ready to answer any request. Buying soft drinks was quite expensive, a still is the case with many restaurants around the world, so be aware of that. All in...

Coral Sea though had internet services it was not working. When enquired it was informed that it was down for a few days but the paid internet version was working clearly. The rooms were ok and had pleasant stay. Also, one more annoying system is that we have make upfront payment for rooms and food.

Stayed over the Mt Hagen Show weekend. Staff placed under duress due to WaterPNG isolating water to the town so rationing of hotel reserves was required. Although we received memos of when the water would be available, it rarely was on during those periods or had been on some time before that promulgated and isolated early. Informed by staff that...

Stayed at the Highlander during the recent Sing Sing weekend. Paid high prices for average room. Very poor water supply - we were led to believe a new problem was happening in Mt Hagen and we would have water for 9hrs a day, 4.5hrs in the morning and 4.5hrs in the evening. In reality it was more like 4hrs in...

We stayed at the Highlander over the Sing Sing festival weekend. It was booked solid. I can imagine that thirty years or so ago or whenever it was booked it would have been a grand place. But it's aging. The hotel struggled with water supply issues when the main supply to the town was shut off. However the room we...

If I had a choice, I would have picked an alternate hotel. Don't go by the flashy airport, this poor business hotel is the best (to my knowledge) in Mt. Hagen. The saving grace for this hotel would be the staff, super welcoming, warm and always smiling. The restaurant is average. Thanks to the super fresh veggies in Mt. Hagen,...

Had booked online using the Coral Sea Hotel website but called the hotel a few days earlier to find they didn't have my reservation despite an international telephone conversation to the main booking line confirming my booking. Repeated follow ups and telephone calls resulted in a 1 night accomodation for a 3 night booking. Arrived at the hotel to an...

What more can I say? Typical of Mt. Hagen places: gouge the customer and kill all future interest in tourism. Short-term gain for long-term loss. We don't mind paying a reasonable rate for good service, but here (and in many PNG establishments) one pays a high price for mediocre service. K600+ for a room, are you kidding??

This okay is fine for the purpose it serves, mainly as a business hotel. The 'new' rooms in the hotel are nicely furnished, although are poorly sound proof, you can hear everything thats happening in the restaurant below. They also get very hot. The staff are great! they really go out of their way to help and ensure your needs...
