Jara Beach Resort is a very beautiful resort at Eleko beach. Mr. Mark and his team is very good, we have spent 2 days there, but we can easily spend more days because lots of activity there to do, food also good. location is very beautiful and well maintained by mark team also using renewable energy is a remarkable effort by Jara resort team. we recommend it for everybody in Lagos to visit & enjoy a peaceful and enjoyable stay here outside the Lagos traffic & sound.
I had a short stay there with my close family. The staff are honestly the best thing about Jara Beach resort. They are the best out of any hotel/destination in Nigeria that I have visited so far. They were extremely polite, kind, eager to help and very fast with orders and requests. The food was amazing; I personally suggest you try the pancakes, the Jollof rice with shrimps in oyster sauce, BBQ wings, as well as the croaker fish in pepper sauce. Lovely mocktails too. The atmosphere was great and the ocean view was extremely refreshing as the water was clean and had no rubbish in it. There was an area for volleyball, swimming, snooker, outdoor dining and even painting. We got to take our art home. And if you're looking for a place to take great photos this is definitely it. the WiFi was great and functional in most areas. Our room was clean and smelt good. We stayed in the loft; the one that accommodates up to 4-5 people I think. The shower had good pressure and there was adequate shampoo, body wash and hand soap in the bathroom. The only thing that we didn't enjoy if I had to nitpick was the massage. And the vanilla smoothie/ice cream was awful. But again, that's me nitpicking. I'd definitely come back here for another family stay. It's a fantastic spot for families and couples. …
Waste of money, and very little value for money paid. It’s annoying writing out this review because I went to Jara with the best intentions. I specifically wanted to reflect and get ready for the new year. While going in, I knew what the power schedule was going to be like. I adjusted my expectations, hoping part of their reasoning for doing this was because the breeze from the ocean helps keep you cool. WRONG. It was incredibly hot during the day and the fan barely helped. I guess what you’re thinking is, “well why don’t you go outside? After all, you’re at a resort.” Oh, we did prefer spending time outside, but guess what? THE FLIES. An entire army of flies, everywhere you turn. You cannot have a drink, snack or even eat in peace without being attacked by an army of flies. A few flies I can manage because it’s outdoors, but an ARMY of flies is just flat out intolerable. Now on to the food. LOL. The food is a basic 4/10 at best. The day we arrived, I had the amala. Big mistake. It was cold. Every other thing I tried was forgettable. Oh, I also had to share my food with the army of flies because you know, I chose to eat outside and enjoy nature. The juices arrive warm most times. I ignored all this because, well, whatever. But what broke the camel’s back was the ridiculously SLOW SERVICE. Jara is a 12 room resort. I went in January and they were not even at 60% occupancy when I was there. So why is the service so slow. Why do I have to interact with 5 different members of staff in a given day? One person is taking my breakfast order, a different person is bringing the said order, a different person is taking away the plates, a different person is bringing snacks. You would think that for such a premium,, certain things would be given more freely. Like why are the chocolate bars and icecream being rationed in a 225k/night room? It’s so many little things that added together end up becoming big things that make the entire experience terrible. On to the finale. Per usual, 3-4 hrs before dinner, someone came to take our order. On this day, it’s a full on 3-course meal (not even sure if this is the standard because we only experienced this once in the 2 nights we were there). We chose our starter, main and dessert. For dessert, we chose the chocolate cake and ice cream. Dinner time. The starter arrives and the main shortly after. We finish our food and wait for over 30 mins for the dessert. The dessert comes, and it’s a slice of cake (I say just cake because there’s no way in hell that should be considered a chocolate cake) without cutlery—the ice cream. We ask the server where the ice cream is and she goes, “Oh, I didn’t know you ordered ice cream.” Mind you, this person is also different from the one who took our dinner order. She goes to bring the ice cream and “cutlery” (which never came). At this point, it’s over 30 mins and no ice cream. We call front desk. Yet another person who I haven’t seen before, comes in to clear the plates. Still no ice cream. Another person comes in to take our order for breakfast the next day. Still no ice cream. At this point, I’m livid. He then goes to bring the ice cream which is already swimming in its liquid because it’s mostly melted. I look at my friend and we are filled not with anger, but regret and shame because there’s always rice at home. But we chose to give an establishment our coins and regretted it bitterly. All I can say that Jara is not worth much. The only thing I enjoyed was the sound of the ocean at night. You’re much better off taking your money to Lighthouse or even Lagos Continental. I came home less relaxed than when I went there. Even the front desk manager was surprised we were checking out so early. Why wouldn’t we? When my room was a much better alternative than whatever Jara thinks they offer. It was at check out I was seeing the front desk manager for the first time during my stay. For a 12-room resort? LOL. Don’t go to Jara. If you have coconut head and still end up going, anything you see, take it like that.…
Beautiful resort. Outstanding customer care and service culture. Lovely beach. Beautiful and clean cabin - we stayed in the Villa. Food was great - local and continental dishes. Excellent website for booking and picking exotic options of meals, flowers, cake, etc. Checkin and checkout was seamless. We will definitely be back.
From the point of entry to our exit from the resort, we received very impressive service from the staffs. The food was amazing, the environment was clean. Though, we stayed for a night, we had a great time. Would definitely love to go back😁
Awesome service, everyone had a smile on their faces at all times and seemed genuinely happy to serve us. From the communication while we were on our way, to the welcome drinks and snacks, to all the activities packed into the day to entertain us, we had a wonderful time. We will definitely be going back soon.
Jara should actually be given a 3 star rating in my view but I've given a 4 rating here based on the level of effort the staff members put in to ensure our stay was very enjoyable. The resort itself and surrounding scenery are beautiful, very picturesque. There are different room types depending on one's preference, lots of outdoor sit out areas for rest & relaxation, a pool, spa and direct access to the beach. The food portions are large (we very often couldn't finish the entire meal) and mostly tasted fantastic - kudos to the chef(s). During our stay there were outdoor games organised collectively for guests during the weekdays (one session during the day and another at night), I must say the host did a remarkable job in making the activities fun. Daily treats were served randomly (chocolates and ice cream) and there's a snack bar at the reception where guests can pick any item of their choosing at no cost. Customer service was great, the staff were super friendly and always willing to help. On the flip side, the rooms, particularly the bathrooms are somewhat small and can thus feel cramped; there's WiFi throughout the resort but it's sometimes spotty and trips off occasionally; the cocktails are nice (try the desert sunrise rise or blue passion) but could be a bit stronger in terms of alcohol content; the "go cart" is actually more of a buggy than a quad bike and only goes in a straight line back and forth on the hotel front road (not on the beach), I honestly wouldn't recommend this particular activity as the ride was bumpy and gets monotonous really quickly. It'd be preferable if actual quad bikes are available. For traffic management, it's advisable to plan leaving on a weekend as the route back into central lagos get really congested. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay. …
Such a wonderful experience at Jara!😊 My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there and were floored by the hospitality and readiness to serve from the Jara team. The meals and ambiance were top notch ✨✨✨✨
Food, accommodation, ambience and services were great. The only reason I am keeping a star for myself is because you have no Workout/Exercise program or routine or a gym room. Yes, there are dumbbells and skipping ropes in the big screen bar but this isn’t great especially if you have another guest who wants to play the pool or eat in that same bar at the same time another guest is sweating from an exercise. A gym room or an aerobic program every morning would be great for guests.
We booked a 2 night family trip at the villa with our 12ained, we were fobbed off that they had just pumped water and it assured it would quickly be resolved. A whole 16hrs after check-in and first complaint, issue was still not fixed. After numerous times of pointing out the issue still had not be resolved we were offered a move to the neighbouring “villa” which after inspection by my husband turned out to have a similar issue with the water supply. On the second day of our stay the hotel turned up with a plumber who claimed filters were blocked but could only resolve one tap working, poor water pressure still remained and it was pretty much impossible to shower, we were moved to a family room with reasonable water pressure. When asked if they would refund the difference or credit note, they said they have no refund policy despite not delivering what was booked and paid for. Again we were then asked to move back to the villa around midday of the second day under a pretence that the water issue was fixed, again we declined as it was more important to settle our little one and the back and forth wasn’t helpful however glad we didn’t as the issue wasn’t resolved when my husband went to check later. All that said, the villa is an apartment although on two floors is small and probably the size of a bed-sit / small studio flat and not a true representation, it is not value for money for what you get. The only saving grace was the food and the locally hired hotel staff Whilst the staff appeared to care and where attentive, the resort is looking tired and in need of Maintaince/ upgrading. The only thing worth commending is the chef on duty, food was always on point and they had reasonable variety.…
