I think this may be the most relaxing place we visited on our tour of Central America. It’s quite a remote, quiet place but they were very accommodating by letting us play music over their speaker in the restaurant at night. The pool area is really nice during the afternoon.
A poem… Ometepe by the lake The perfect place to have a break A lake so big it’s like the sea You’ll like this place, I guarantee Ometepe by the lake The food’s delicious, try the steak Find the menu, take a look You will enjoy the meals they cook Ometepe by the take There’s swims and strolls and naps to take See volcanoes, check them out Learn what this place is all about Enjoy Finca Venecia!
One of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Views to die for in every direction. Yes the rooms are a bit basic but this is an economical hotel and you get what you pay for. The beach front rooms are best. Restaurant OK. You are quite a long way from anywhere here but we felt so rested we hardly moved.
Our second floor bungalow was a perfect location overlooking Lake NIcaragua. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on our balcony. The room was spotless. Did not need AC with the beautiful breeze coming off the lake. Bugs were not a problem. The new pool was well located and the water was crystal clear, we found it very refreshing. Charco Verde Reserve was right next door, spent about two hours at butterfly exhibit and circling the entire property, even saw a group of howler monkeys. We also spent an afternoon at Ojo de Agua natural spring for a relaxing swim. Visited the petroglyphs in a neighboring town and the professor that created the museum gave us a personal tour. We found it to be a wonderful adventure as part of our trip through Nicaragua. The staff is ready to help in any way they can. The restaurant provided very good meals, always hot with a nice presentation. The grounds are well-kept and the hammocks and seating areas throughout the property provide privacy if needed. I would highly recommend this resort.…
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel during an Intrepid tour through Central America. Complex of 2 levels bungalow located directly on the beach Simple rooms. Great pool to relax and be cut a part from the world The wifi is only at the bar/restaurant area, or near the reception. The restaurant serves tasty food, but there are not much choice. The price are just a little bit expensive than other venues in Nicaragua. Very cheap the laundry service!
It is an amazing place, rooms with a lot of space. Pool with a wonderful view of Concepcion volcano, also Cocibolca's lake. Breakfast was good. Easy to reach the hotel. Stephanie was really kind and nice when we arrived, she took the time to show us the room and indicate us where was the restaurant and how to reach Charco Verde reserve. As a note for your trip. We found an amazing place to eat at Moyogalpa, we don't know the exactly address but it is located in front of the Alcaldia de Moyogalpa. About 3 houses away from the supermarket Pali. The "comedor" is in the house corner, infront of a park. You will see a blackboard with the menu. The taste it's spectacular :) we had dinner there all the days and our last lunch while we were at Ometepe. The prices are really low compared to other places we visited.…
We got the recommendation from the owner of a hotel in Granada and what should we say? Finca Venecia is a quiet place located directly on Lago NIcaragua. Estefania is a good and flexible host. Although we were the only guests they offered from the second night on dinner. The pool area is a dream with a stunning view to volcano Concepcion. The room with aircondition had enough space and the balcony with view to the lake invites to relax. Breakfast was included, but the waitress who served breakfast needs some additional motivation. Anyway, we felt very comfortable there and hope that the tourists will come back and enjoy the Finca too.
Had been on the road for a while when we got to this hotel. Was apprehensive having read a few reviews but genuinely had a lovely, restful time here. Our room was a lake facing top floor bungalow. Great views. Enjoyed a night time beer listening to the lake lapping. Yes, there are insects, but this is central America! Leave your lights off, keep doors and bags shut, don't have food in the room and turn shoes upside down: problems solved! We spent our full day relaxing by next doors pool, so had all our meals and drinks at hotel. Could not fault it. Staff friendly and helpful. An all round enjoyable experience.
Stayed here for three nights with my daughter. The villas either look out onto the lake or the volcano and are large (at least two double beds in each) but dated. Our rooms were not cleaned and serviced every day which was disappointing and basic stuff like hangers in the wardrobes were missing. The pool and pool area with seats and sun loungers was a welcome relief after a day out on the island. The restaurant was the biggest disappointment- the menu was limited and they often didn’t have what was on the menu. The quality of the food was poor and expensive relative to other restaurants on the island. When it comes to paying for the bill the staff add ‘tax’ which is not mentioned on the menu and not charged by other restaurants unless you pay in cash. Our advise is only to eat here if you really have to. A short walk along the beach to the next hotel offers significantly better food.…
Rooms were good, decent size, etc Wifi was reasonably good, large grounds, sunset view. Local dance group did a show in the evening which was good. We had a slightly problematic scooter rental thru the hotel, scooters arrived over an hour late in the morning, then getting our $100 deposit back was a pain.
