This hotel's real star attraction is on its roof - telescopes and other equipment for stargazers and astrophotography. The resident astronomer is enthusiastic, and brilliant and helping people, whatever their level of experience, see the stars. The rooms were a bit different - they are a bit tired and the hotel decor overall could do with an update, and the... More

This is a great place to view the night sky. The house astronomer sets up three telescopes at night, including one trained on Jupiter so that you can see the Galilean moons change position over the course of a couple of hours. He gives you a tour through the most interesting phenomena in the sky and has solar telescopes set... More

Patrick the resident astronomer is so passionate and knowledgeable it is hard not to enjoy stargazing with him and his very energetic ginger cat, it was love at first site with the cat and the sky at night in this wonderful part of Morocco. This hotel is a must if you want to view the sky through state of the... More

Wonderful experience made even more enjoyable and stimulating through sessions with the monumentally enthusiastic and patient Patrick on on a clear moonless night (the best for star in gazing) , and the wide ranging discussions from cosmology to Moroccan Culture with the hotel xowner, Fritz Korning. Also saw the sun through a specially designed telescope and amazed at being able... More

I re-visited Morocco with my astronomer friend and had another unique experience at the SaharaSky hotel and observatory. Hot and dry temperatures during the day and pleasant nights under the black Sahara sky. We met Patrick the new professional astronomer at SaharaSky who showed us galaxies millions of light years away as well as Saturn with its mystical rings. The... More

I visited SaharaSky together with friends the second time. The owner and amateur astronomer Fritz and Patrick, a fully employed professionnel astronomer showed us the black Saharan sky and its stars and galaxies after dinner til midnight. It was the highlight of our trip. We had booked comfort rooms which are spacious and with views over the sand-dunes of Tinfou.... More

Definitely come to this hotel for the astronomy. The astronomer is very knowledgeable, dedicated, and helpful. The owner is much less so. We were counting on the advertised wifi but when we got to the hotel the owner said it was all used up for the month and told us to get our own (and wondered we didn't have internet... More

We welcome our guests especially if they come all the way from Honolulu Hawaii. But we also appreciate comments based on facts. In this case I wish to state the following: 1) The Wifi connection was not available due to a surcharge of the Internet Server of Maroc Telecom. It was blamed on the owner !? 2) The US client... It's close to the dunes of tinfu, which lie directly behind the Hotel. Dinner is fine, breakfast is alright. Rooms are clean and have a nice balcony. We couldn't attend the star watching at night, since it was full moon. The staff was kind enough to tell us, that it doesn't make that much sense.

I have visited this hotel in 2012 (http://www.tripadvisor.fi/ShowUserReviews-g304023-d1048382-r152041396-Kasbah_Hotel_Sahara_Sky-Zagora_Souss_Massa_Draa_Region.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT) Let me start by saying, this hotel/Observatory is the best if your are looking to stargaze and use professionally telescopes. Also the quietness of the surroundings are so relaxing that when you get back to "civillisation" it is hard. Many side adventures are also organized and are pretty easy to do and... More

So, I am mildy interested in astronomy. I stayed at a different hotel in Zagora but I went to this hotel for dinner and star gazing.
