All reviews so far describe perfectly the excellent conditions of the dessert camp, the delicious food and the lovely music by the campfire. The camel ride and the dessert itself are really impressive, the night sky full of stars - even more. BUT the gentle kind people who were taking care of us - that's the best about this trip! Delicate sense of humour, kindness and care - everyone involved in the arrangement of the camel ride were simply awesome. If you can stay more than 1 night in the dessert - you'd enjoy it even more. 2-3 nights would be optimal. Strongly recommend this trip for it's worth every minute of it.

If you’re reading these reviews you’re obviously considering taking one of these trips. My advice is stop looking and book this one immediately. We took the 3 day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga. I booked prior to leaving home and paid a deposit via Western Union with the balance due on arrival in the desert. Communication with Aziz was excellent and he was happy to answer my many questions. Our guide for the trip was Mohammed who was amazing. There’s no getting around the fact that this trip involves a lot of driving but Mohammed was an incredible guide. He had a lot of knowledge about the areas we drove through and stopped frequently for fantastic photo opportunities, breaks and lunch. He was a genuinely kind and caring man who showed a lot of concern for our comfort. The Riad Dades was our hotel for our first night and the views were spectacular. On arrival at the company base we were offered tea and shower/changing facilities before being taken to our camels. The ride to the camp was unbelievably beautiful - it lasted around an hour and our camel guide took loads of photos for us (AFRICAAAA!). And then we arrived at the camp. WOW. Words cannot describe the beauty and peace of this place. It was beautifully laid out and the tents themselves traditionally decorated and just gorgeous. A separate, private bathroom for each tent was provided a short distance away. We were given sand boards and spent an incredible hour up and down the dunes. Dinner was served in a dining tent and was just delicious and plentiful. Our hosts then entertained us around the camp fire with music and singing and they got us up to dance around the fire before teaching us how to play the drums. Chatting with Aziz afterwards and learning more about Nomads and their way of life was a highlight for me. It was a perfect evening in a surreal and beautiful setting and really couldn’t have been any better. We were very well looked after by our hosts who couldn’t do enough for us. We awoke at 6.00 am to watch the sunrise from the top of a dune and then enjoyed a large buffet style breakfast. We opted for a 4x4 ride back to base which we really enjoyed. It’s an experience we will never forget and genuinely couldn’t have been more perfect. Mohammed was waiting for us for the return journey to Marrakech and again entertained us with his local knowledge and his wonderful sense of humour. We took a slightly different route back and saw many differing landscapes. To the camel guide and the guys who looked after us in camp - thank you. You made everything perfect and the food was delicious. To Aziz and Mohammed - you were amazing and gave us the best trip ever. We leave Morocco with the most incredible memories and two new wonderful friends. To those reading this review - you won’t regret a second of this trip. Enjoy!

I highly highly recommend doing the trip to the Merzouga desert to them take the camel ride through the dunes to the camp. The hour long camel ride was mesmerizing and didn’t get tiresome. Our kids loved it too. The camp quarters were nicer than we expected and we had a wonderful time there. From sandboarding in the desert to singing songs by the campfire to watching the full moon and the grazing camels to watching the sunrise to drinking Tea in the Sahara - wow! A bucket list experience that is not to be missed. Our kids loved it too.

We stayed at Mouhou Desert Camp during our trip to the desert, the tents were large with clean and confortable beds, the camp has 6 tents and each tent has its own private bathroom outside the tent, the food we had at camp was delicious. After the dinner we had a drum party around fire, singin, dancing....it was one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had.
