Paradise place a stone's throw from the desert. Cute independent rooms, equipped with bathroom. Spectacular swimming pool. Buffet meals, with a lot of variety (typical but also international foods) and a choice of fruit and desserts. Friendly and helpful staff.

Extensive complex with small mud houses and functional furnishings. Large pool and restaurant that offers a buffet for breakfast and dinner. Despite the large number of tourists (tour groups) that pass through here, the food is good quality. Service is OK.

Rooms that look like huts on the outside and tents on the inside.
The pool never far away even if we couldn't take a dip in February.
A professional welcome offering mint tea and cakes after a long drive.
A quiet place with all the comforts.
Exquisite evening buffets and breakfasts.

Unlike most places in Morocco, there is only one hotel tour operators use in Foum Zguid. This is Hotel bab Rimal. The owner knows it and will make you feel it. Forget the kindness, the excellent service, the delicious food, you have experienced in Morocoo. Prepare for rudeness and meals you would not even have in the worst highway dinner in the US or Europe. Also don't expect to relax with a glass of alcohold, there is none, or to check your email, the wifi barely works.

We had a superb stay at the Bab rimal Foum Zguid hotel on the advice of a friend. The room, the meals, the swimming pool, the location "at the gates of the desert" everything was perfect! A big thank you to Bari who took great care of us! The bivouac at Yaya's in the desert was also great, and will leave us with very good and magnificent memories in the middle of these large dunes. We will come back without hesitation!

If you visit the area around Foum Zguid, this hotel is the best place to stay.
The hotel is 3 km bevore you see Foum Zguid (leave the street by the police-station to east direction). After 1 Kilometer you will find the hotel between the spektakulare hills of the Jebel Bani, close to a little village and the oasiszone near the big qued.
The Bab Rimal was builded in mauretanien style. Nice and traditional architecture you will see on the two Mainbuildings and in the area. Inside the Buildings you have a restaurant, a lounge with a lot of mauretanien arts and WLan-Port, a little store, the bureau of owner nashi and an very comfortable Toilett, you will never find a better WC 200 Kilometers around. And not to forget: The great pool.
For the night you have to choose: The tents are cheap and easy but comfortable (clean Bed, Table and chairs, Light and electric socket). This is a good place, if you like to feel near to the desert.
More expensive but very nice are the suites and rooms scattered in the hotel-garden. Big, clean and decorated suites have furniture, AC and a veranda. The bathroom is excellent. The service in the rooms is very good.
The restaurant offered good quality and the stuff is friendly. Sometimes the conversation in english with the stuff is difficult, but ask for cleaning-service, Internet or using a tee-tent and all the little things, the stuff will help you. For a trip into the dessert or Foum zguid ask Owner nashi. He organised tours with good local guides.
I stay two times in this hotel - everytime the rooms are clean and the service quickly and good. I frankly recommend this special hotel-oasis in the oasis.
PS: Dont miss the sundown - hotel and landscape form a beautyfull scenery.

This was the 2nd night stop of a 6 night tour of Morocco on motorcycles and it didn't disappoint. Everyone was very friendly when we arrived, our rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. To be honest this is pretty basic/standard accommodation but it is absolutely fine and so are the facilities and the meals.
It is a popular stop for those heading south to the desert and a lot of 4x4 tours use it. Absolutely no complaints at all, very good value and the pool was PERFECT!

When travelling in the more southern towns of Morocco accommodation is scarcer to find and facilities not the same quality as in the big cities. Set between rocky escarpments just out of town, Bab Rimal is the largest accommodation available in the desert town of Foum Zguid and is constantly improving.
Arriving after dark recently on a cold night, the first thing that caught my attention was the glowing deep blue water of the swimming pool lit from below. It should have felt incongruous in this desert town, but instead was welcoming despite the cold weather temperatures. The second thing was the cosy warm bar and lounge area which was full of guests and locals.
Detached pairs of rooms are scattered throughout the grounds & desert gardens, which are accessed along meandering pathways from the reception area.
Room are simply furnished and knowing that most of the year, temperatures are high, they would be fresh and inviting. My room had two sets of French doors which would be wonderful open on a hot night; and the best thing of all, the bed and bed linen were bliss. For me the mattress was perfect, not the usual ‘stiff as a board’ slab that seems to exist throughout much of the country. Covered with a beautiful soft duvet I had the most amazing sleep. Another big plus, for Bab Rimal, the showers have fantastic water pressure with very hot water.
Our party of six had rung ahead to order our dinner of chicken tagine and spaghetti with meatball bolognaise; the meal was served with a delicious hot soup and served with an excellent red wine. Dessert was fruit salad. Breakfast the following morning was the fairly standard, bread and melwi with olives and condiments however the melwi was excellent and served piping hot. Good coffee with honey. Hosts and staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, the efficiency of the restaurant staff fantastic.
Note: One thing, I wish restaurants in Morocco would not always serve diced mixed fruit salad topped with yoghurt as dessert, far better just fresh fruit.
