This feels like our second home in Morocco. It is a clean, friendly and very relaxed guesthouse. Terry, Suzanne and Liam are outstanding hosts, they went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasurable. If you would like a chilled holiday with mountain views (and the added bonus of family pets), head to Dar Scotlandee!

This was my first guesthouse in Morocco so it will become the yardstick for all those following. Location is awkward to arrive at, highly recommend paying a taxi to take you there. It is on a steep hill with dirt and gravel driveway behind the medina which has the advantage of catching the cooling breezes on the rooftop patio. Room... More

I don't usually leave reviews but felt like I wanted to on this occasion as I had such a great experience. I was welcomed by Terry and his family as soon as I arrived, and the hospitality continued until the day I left. Great views from the rooftop and on the walk down to the centre of town. Personally, I... More

After a hectic few weeks travelling round Morocco this was the perfect place to chill out and finish our adventure. Terry, his wife and son made us feel totally welcome in their clean and comfortable guest house. We had lovely breakfasts, spicy tomato soup for dinner, and pots of tea (good old British stuff) on tap! We had a big... More

We initially had booked to stay at Dar Scotlandee for 2 nights but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to stay another night. Terry, Suzanne and Liam were very welcoming and gave us lots of advice on where to go, the best places to eat and even booked us a taxi as we had to leave very early... More

OK, you might ask why I am rating this a 5 out of 5, in comparison to some of the more fancy or pricier places we have stayed. The answer is: It is all relative. I booked a room at Dar Scotlandee knowing full well it was a lower priced, "budget" hostel sort of a place, as opposed to a... More

Terrys place is a very cosy palce to stay. The whole family is very helpful in every way they can. Meeting people here and making plans in a relaxed and safe place (also for your vehicle), is enjoyable!! There is high speed Internet, the laundry is done, and the breakfast is a perfect start in the day, They can arrange... More

As a non english speaker I didnt get what the name stand. But the place is clean and has a great view from the valley. They were very Nice to show us our way around the village. The walk to the village is nice and you get to know more than if you stay only in the medina.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! We are situated just 2 minutes from the camping, and a 15 minute walk from Chaouen Medina. The national park of Talessamtane is only 200m behind our guesthouse. The Dar Scotlandee guest house in Chefchaouen is a surefire winner with travellers who would like to be somewhere a bit different!! This lovely Guesthouse makes a wonderful change from a hotel in the Medina, and offers all the same attention to detail along with warm and personal hospitality. We are just a 15 minute walk or 2 minute taxi ride to the ancient Medina of Chefchaouen and ideal for discovering the hidden villages of the majestic Rif Mountains. The guesthouse is a superb base for exploring the area, and linking up with fellow travellers on our shaded terrace. We also arrange day trips to local beauty spots, and guided tours to local villages to see traditional farming techniques. Local honey and olive oil are specialities of the region. A real chance to experience Berber hospitality. Free high speed wi-fi, so bring your devices. Book early to avoid disappointment, it does get busy in summer. We hope to see you soon... Please note- as with all of Morocco, there is a lot of new building work going on all around Chefchaouen. Recently, it has reached our neighbourhood, meaning the gentle sound of moroccans building houses. Although quite interesting to watch the basic building methods, and the lack of any machinery being used, the sound of bricks being cemented together may bother some people. Please consider this when booking as we don't want you to be unhappy in any way while you are here. ... more   less
