Went to the auberge for dinner while staying in Chefchaouen, the place was recommended and worth the 15min drive from our place of stay. To be honest one of the best tajines I've had in Morocco after trying the dish in various different cities! Still thinking about it !

The restaurants around the central square of Chefchaouen are not that highly rated, so I made a reservation at Auberge Dardara, a French-like hotel, restaurant and farm about fifteen minutes by car outside of Chefchaouen. The dining room was very charming and comfortable on the cool night we were there. The four of us enjoyed all the appetizers, entrees and desserts that we ordered. The one negative comment is about the owner, who didn't seem as if he had trained the new young server at all. Also, it seemed odd that he didn't take on the role of the proud host by stopping by our table to ask how we were doing, especially since we were the only ones there after one other couple had left earlier.

A rustic house with lots of character! Very clean rooms! Staff are absolutely lovely and do their very best for you.... breakfast was a choice of all the usual breads eaten in Morocco plus jam, honey, cheese etc, you can also have an omelette or fresh fruits! It’s a tranquil place where you can switch off. My only disappointment was the swimming pool wasn’t clean enough to use, I didn’t challenge the staff as we where only there two nights. I would stay again though as it was a nice place!

The rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly. The meals there were excellent! I had the Rabbit Tagine for dinner with a salad. The breakfast with fresh juices was remarkable. I would recommend that anyone visiting Chefchaouen should stay here.

We were a party of 18 birdwatchers on an organised trip and came to stay here. There was plenty of room for us all in various houses on the site and our room was spacious and very comfortable. The gardens are delightful with lots of nesting birds to delight us and a swimming pool for those that way inclined! All food is either produced by themselves or locally sourced and the sheep/goat cheese and butter and the fresh baked bread were delicious. Scrambled eggs for breakfast included cloves of garlic and bay leaves producing a wonderful taste I will attempt to replicate at home. They also provided us with packed lunches which were substantial and delicious. Only soft drinks are available here so don't go expecting beer or wine with your meal. The coffee was exceptionally good.

We didn't stay at the guest house --- just had a fantastic lunch. We had spent much of the day hiking in the mountains above Chefchaouen and we were tired and looking for a place to relax. Our guide recommended Auberge Dardara. It's very pleasant, but not fancy. We spent the afternoon relaxing on the terrace by the garden. I had the rabbit tagine and my wife the grilled chicken, with whole wheat couscous, roasted potatoes, and vegetables. Presentation was a bonus. Each of our meals was topped by a sprig of flowering rosemary.

This is a really nice property about 15 minutes outside Chefchaouen medina. It is a country house with around 20 rooms. Try to get one of the 6 with a fireplace. It got quite cold so we appreciated the fireplace! Great restaurant in the hotel, probably the best in the area. Had the best Rabbit Tagine ever! Very pretty in the surrounding area and you can go for some nice walks. They used to have 4 walking trails starting and finishing at the hotel but this is no longer available, but you can still go for a nice walk.

Visited the restaurant only. Food was good but some of the worst service we have encountered. Every course (entree, main and desert) had to be chased up with the waiter because someone was forgotten. One desert arrived after the bill and was sent back. A shocker!
