We booked this hotel because it advertised itself as disabled accessible and one of the travelers was on a wheelchair. Not only the hotel itself cannot bé reached easily o. A wheelchair but the place itself is not at all disabled accessible. A tiny entrance and tiny doorways was the first indication that the place had lied about being wheelchair accessible. We were given 2 rooms and the “ disabled” one was on the ground floor. However it was very difficult to get in with the wheelchair as again the doorway was just big enough. However once inside, we realised that the room was divided into 2 floors, a sitting area and a bathroom downstairs and a bedroom upstairs with about 10 steps to go up. The man insisted that it was disabled friendly despite the obvious....As regards to the other room, it was on top of the building. Going up, we noticed that the carpets and rugs covering the stairs were very dusty as if they had not been vacuumed in a good while. The sheets in our double bed were not big enough, the staff had used single bed sheets put sideways so it would cover the width of the bed but only 2/3 of the length.... there was no bin in the room nor in the bathroom, the curtain pole collapsed when we draw the curtain etc etc. We shortened our stay to the one night as it was impossible for the disabled guest. The owner was not to be seen when we checked out, the staff had to give him a call. He refused to cancel the second night and and ask for us to pay 50% of the night we cancelled.... The place is not cheap for Morocco either especially given the poor quality of everything. We loved Chefchaouen but our bad experience at this hotel tarnished our visit. To be avoided.…
We fell in love with the city of Chefchaouen several years ago and continue to visit annually. Our usual riads were filled, so we had booked Riad Antek via Booking.com -- relying on them to have accurate reviews and ratings. That was my first mistake! The woman at the front desk was friendly enough, but that is the only positive comment I can make about this place. To summarize our experience -- - they advertised that they had nearby parking, this is a lie / very long walk up lots of steps with luggage to get to riad - cracked windows on the entrance was the first bad sign I noticed - dangerous unsecured carpeting on the several dark flights of stairs leading to room - room was a literal cracker box with only one tiny window with single light bulb and electrical wiring hanging loosely in front of it - smallest bathroom I've ever been in / shower flowed directly down onto toilet - feces stains on the small towels in room - dangerous ungrounded electrical outlet completely exposed right next to shower spray - room was advertised as "superior room with three beds" had one actual small bed plus two small maybe 18 - 20 inch "couch cushions" -- complete with awful stains - most dangerous situation was the person trying to break into our room in the middle of the night -- pounding on the flimsy door and repeatedly wriggling the door handle directly next to where I was sleeping. Very unnerving - had NO rest that night whatsoever! Hideous experience -- and NO REFUND when we shared our experience with manager in the morning before we left for another hotel! Complained to Booking.com as well -- received total runaround from them and no satisfaction whatsoever. I will always use Trip Advisor or any other booking agency from now on.…
It's a hotel that has really very little space to move. It's really a small hotel with very small rooms and we were really squeezed. The staff were very friendly and did their best. The breakfast was decent and fresh. Getting to the rooms is also uncomfortable. The top of the hotel has a lovely view and the rooms there are probably the best if one doesn't mind the climb. The hotel is a kind that caters for the Alice in Wonderland visitor. It's just about ok for one night. 2.2/5
Stay far, far away. This Riad has a pleasant staff and a central location. Everything else was bad. Ceiling height in stairways and rooms good for Hobbits only, I couldn't stand erect in my room and I'm not tall. No soap, only one sheet on the bed, window was 6"x18", like staying in a prison cell. WORST PART, I booked for a guaranteed rate in euros. The Riad charged in dirhams and picked their own exchange rate clipping me for 3 %. Then after 2 days of claiming their credit card machine didn't work, on the night before departure, suddenly it did but they claimed that the service cost them 10% which they demanded I pay, an outrageous lie. In order to escape I paid an additional 5% under protest.
