This little gem oozes authentic Moroccan hospitality and decor. It is full of colour and collectibles at every turn. Set inside the Medina, it is an uphill walk from the drop-off area, however, it is not steep or difficult and the staff is at the ready to take your bags and look after them all the way to your room. You can also expect stairs inside which may be a problem for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and although the rooms were on the smaller size, they had all amenities you would expect. You were greeted with tea and cookies upon arrival and a delicious breakfast was served around the small pool. An indoor dining area is also available should you prefer that. There is also a small rooftop area to enjoy.

Staying at Riad Cherifa in Chefchaouen was an absolute highlight of our trip! The riad is beautifully designed, blending traditional Moroccan charm with modern comfort. The rooms were spacious, clean, and full of character, with stunning details that reflect the unique beauty of the Blue City.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was a treat—fresh, delicious, and served in such a peaceful setting. The riad’s location was perfect, just a short walk from the main attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel serene and relaxing.

I’d highly recommend Riad Cherifa to anyone visiting Chefchaouen. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s an experience that adds so much to the magic of this incredible city.

Beautiful and quirky riad in the medina of Chefchuen. The rooms are very tastefully designed and they have a fridge and kettle! The breakfast isn't amazing. They seem to offer an overcooked fried egg as the one and only hot offering, when other Riads we stayed in offered a boiled egg or omelette, etc. The TV in the room didn't work, and you have to ask reception for hot water in your en-suite if you want a shower in the afternoon.

Khadija is a true professional and has a unique approach also. She did such an outstanding job exfoliating/scrubbing and massaging with all the local oils and herbs that are natural skin remedies/products. I have experienced a couple of hammams and she is the best, by far. She is incredibly kind, courteous and joyful in addition to being the best in the business!!!!! Look no further than to spend your $ on a hammam here instead of a public one, I am telling you that a hammam with Khadija will be one of your highlights of your trip to Chefchaouen! It has certainly been mine :-)

Our arrival at the Riad seemed rather cold to us. We would have appreciated being welcomed by the young woman with as much openness and kindness as characterizes Moroccan hosts.
This was not the case, we regret it. The Riad was not presented to us either, too bad!!
The Andalusian style of the 1930s is, to say the least, authentic for amateurs and “in its own right” for non-fans.
What stands out in all cases is the accumulation of rustic wooden furniture which obscures the Riad.
We felt a deep congestion which did not prompt us to help.
The room was narrow, the air conditioning noisy but the bed very comfortable with very soft sheets.
The best part of the Riad is undoubtedly its pool on the breakfast terrace.
There is no catering service in this Riad but there is no shortage of choice in the medina!
The breakfast served by the swimming pool is very generous, varied and with local products. Well done !
We lacked a hint of cleanliness on the tables, tablecloths and placemats.
We will not come back given the decor which is not at all to our taste but this Riad has some advantages not to be criticized.
Enjoy your stay.

The location of the Riad is centrally located inside the Medina and easy walking distance to explore.

The property has so much character and charm, with all room unique in their own way, and are spread out over the three levels. Although I didn’t use the faculties, there is a pool and a hammam, which both looked lovely.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. And breakfast was a large selection of eggs, pastries and fruit.

Highly recommend this Riad if you’re visiting Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen is famous as the 'Blue Pearl' of Morocco, and it is truly stunning, but just as stunning as the town itself is Riad Cherifa. Wow, how beautiful is this riad?! I think we were all a little slack-jawed with amazement when we arrived to a most welcome cup of mint tea seated in the tranquility of the restaurant area near the small pool. I cannot describe how beautifully decorated the riad is, how crammed full of wonderful pieces of furniture it is, and how friendly, professional and efficient every member of staff is. I also cannot count the number of times I got lost trying to find my room - the riad is a bit of a rabbit warren! Never mind, it was a chance to explore again the lovely public areas. Our rooms were adjacent to each other and while not huge were very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip, but we were troubled extensively by bees attracted to the honey and preserves. Serving these with covers would probably deal with that issue. Bees or no bees I wholeheartedly recommend Riad Cherifa. It is a feast for the eyes and perfectly located within this fascinating town.

This was the most beautiful of all the riads that we stayed in Morocco. Every nook and corner was decorated with woodwork and art and it felt like staying in a museum. The staff was very friendly and polite. Breakfast on the terrace next to the pool was great. We loved our stay and most definitely recommend this place.

Yes, call or email the hotel. They are in an area that is not accessible to cars; we had to park outside the city walls and walk in.

I can't be sure, but it certainly has the air of an old building. It is arranged round inner courtyards and has a lovely roof terrace from which you can see over the roofs of this party of the beautiful blue city and hear the sounds of the alleyways below
