Asilah is a peaceful town with very laidback citizens and so is this charming guesthouse. After a 4-night stay with our family, we are convinced this was a very good choice. All day long we had thee-service and very pleasant people welcoming us. The rooms are all different and romantic with an abundance of wood for the chimneys. Every morning, a stunning breakfast was laid out and the cosy dining room enchanted by books and music made us stay sometimes far too long inside this place. We hope to be back in the summer, this guesthouse must be great to enjoy the terrasses in the hot weather. Thanks to Caroline and Mustapha our family reunion in Asilah was a succes!! Very pleasant hosts with lots of good advises for adventurous travelers.

We stayed here for 6 nights and it was a great experience. We have stayed in a few riads in Morocco and this is probably the most tranquil and homely. The riad is a small beautiful building and feels more like staying in a private home than a hotel. Not only was the riad beautiful and a tranquil haven from the hustle and bustle outside, but all the people working there were very friendly and really seemed to make an effort to make our stay pleasant! The riad is located in a very central and good location for exploring the souks and the main attractions in the medina. Nearby you will also find lots of restaurants suchas "La Perle d'Asilah" which are great options for lunch or dinner. They paid attention to detail, breakfasts were incredible fresh and delicious, and there was even a bookcradle of (good) books to borrow while we were there. Everything seemed very clean and cared for and what's more, very warm and comfortable, it has a nice roof terrace with a great seavieuw, beautifully lit in the evenings. The best thing however, is definately the food! We had our best lunch and dinner at Dar Azaouia, everything homemade, fresh moroccan bread with starters and dips from any meditaranean country, after huge tajines with the most fresh fish I've ever eaten. I still taste the salty sea watering in my mouth. The poched fish with wild mushrooms is recommended. The desserts are original and the love and care in the kitchen drips from the plates. Well-done for the chef! If I go to Asilah again, I would definitely come back to Dar Azaouia.

A traditional riad with a European touch! A stunningly beautiful place to stay, matched with the most generous of hosts, Caroline. A Belgium woman who has called Morocco home for the past eight years. She is a wealth of knowledge and I recommend that anyone arriving into Casablanca head straight to Asilah to visit Caroline. She will help you prepare your itinerary, give you contacts for great riads along the way and give you the lowdown on the local way of life. The riad was pure luxury. Each of the four rooms is uniquely decorated with their own bathrooms. Breakfast is served on the rooftop and in abundance - absolutely delicious. Mud masks tools are supplied in the bathrooms which have hot water and are incredibly clean. It is located just two minutes walk from the kasbah and the heart of Asilah. It truly was a luscious experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough. After just two nights, we were sad to say goodbye to Caroline.

I wish we'd had a bit more time in Asila--I would've loved to settle in at this house. But we had just one night, on our way out via the Tangier airport. I booked here precisely because the full details of breakfast were listed on the website--I figured anyone who put that much care into the food would also run a fine hotel! And that turned out to be true--every aesthetic detail was lovely (local sea salts in the bathroom, for scrubbing!), and Caroline was an excellent hostess. And not only was breakfast a treat, but we also had a stellar dinner--a great blend of Moroccan and French, creative but still home-cooked, and using all fresh produce.
The drive from Asila to Tangier airport is only about five minutes longer than it is from central Tangier out to the airport, so Asila was a great place to leave from--a pretty, calm town where we felt like we could wind down at the end of a long trip.
Many thanks to Caroline for a great last night--and one of the best on our trip!

My friend, my two clients and I stayed in Hotel Dar Azaouia. All I can say it is a perfect accommodation for travelers and all visitors to the charming city of Asilah. DarAzaouia is in a good location, just few minutes walking from the medina (old city). The rooms were very clean, comfortable and well decorated based on the tastes of the owner. The owner and host named Caroline made us feels very welcome and were very friendly. The breakfast in the next morning was really tasty. All in all at affordable prices.
Overall, we honestly enjoyed our stay at Dar Azaouia and I strongly recommend it.
Thanks Caroline and we look forward to see you again.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful home for 2 nights in April of this year at the beginning of our 3 weeks in Morocco. It is centrally located just outside the medina of this charming seaside town and very tastefully decorated throughout. We were very comfortable in our top floor ensuite room opening out onto the roof area. Breakfasts were delicious and our delightful hosts Caroline and Mustapha were very friendly. They were especially helpful when I badly sprained my ankle. Carolyn spent several hours with us visiting the hospital, visiting local workshops to organise the materials and manufacture of a splint which was needed for me to get back on my feet. I doubt we would have been able continue our travels had it not been for their wonderful support and exceptional hospitality.

My three nights at Dar Azaouia were truly a pleasure. Caroline is the warm and accommodating innkeeper of this charming 3-room riad which looks ancient, but was actually built by her - with love and authenticity - just a few years ago. I stayed at the top of the house in a comfortable suite with a huge and wonderful bathtub and a limitless supply of hot water, a most comfortable bed and a private terrace. Her hospitality was in evidence when I arrived, quite late and famished. She carried my heavy bag up 2 flights, then descended to the kitchen to fix me a snack of toast and housemade herbed cheese. So it was no surprise that her breakfasts were opulent and delicious. Asilah is a safe and friendly waterfront town with just a handful of riads, so Dar Azaouia was an especially welcome surprise. Located just outside the gates of an unusually pristine, non- commercial medina, Dar Azaouia offers an intimate, perfectly situated base from which to explore a special small beach town. Caroline is a gem and so is her little guesthouse.

The female owner has the passion for food and decoration, the breakfast was really great and widespread. She is creative in the food she made, and i emphasized that it was real good. She has the cozy dinning area with some history to share. Due to our group of six we were given an apartment unit however it has no heater and was cold for us. The fire place last till about 10pm. Luckily, we still able to take it . The owner put in efforts to please guests. She is a good cook you may want to try her cooking. She gave us unique packing of morocco sugar as souvenir. A lovely lady

We booked directly after reading the long list of positive reviews - and none of them were wrong: Dar Azaouia is truly a great place to spend a few nights. Unfortunately we only had time to spend there one night. We stayed in the rooftop room which was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom here is indeed special, crafted in the same fashion as they build traditional hammams. The view from the rooftop terrace is splendid, and the room was very comfortable. Catherine, the owner and Simon the waiter were both really nice and helpful. We even had dinner in Dar Azaouila which has proven to be a great choice as the food was superb plus it was a very relaxed way to spend the evening with two kids, tired after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was also of a very igh standard. You can even park your car in front of the hotel which is practical. Asilah town by the way is very relaxed and clean whilst still very Moroccan plus you have the Atlantic nearby - it is a great town to stay.

A cheerful welcome on arrival, friendly yet professional staff, wonderful food and a beautiful rooftop bedroom suite- all set in the lovely coastal town of Asilah. We selected the town and the accommodation on the strength of the reviews for this riad, and were very pleasantly surprised by the fabulous beach and coastline, quaint streets and friendly people. It really was a little gem, and walking miles along the clean beach, watching the waves crashing onto the shore, was a real pleasure.Caroline was so helpful with tips of where to eat and even drove us to the ferry port for our return to Algiciras. She works very hard and deserves the praise and success- thank you Caroline!
