Kasbah Tebi is a unique place, a traditional berber kasbah of 400 years old fully renovated respecting the traditionals technics and materials, by the descendants of its builders : my family. Ideally located in the heart of the ksar Aït Benhaddou, our kasbah as all the old ksar was classified as wordheritage site in 1987 by Unesco. We offer 11 rooms (Standard and Deluxe) spread in single, double / twin and family suite. Our accommodation capacity allows us to host groups of travelers. Ideally located between Marrakech and the desert or Canyons of the High Atlas, Aït Benhaddou Ait is a perfect stage point for a southern morocco Tour. Don't hesitate to come enjoy an unique experience, a magical night, out of time, discover the authenticity of the culture and traditions of the berber from High Atlas, in a warm and romantic setting, completly lit with candles.

I spent one night here as the first night in the latest of my many recent trips to explore the amazing country that is Morocco. Ait Benhaddou had been on my list of places to see for some time, so when I found that Kasbah Tebi existed (through a well known hotel "booking" website!), I jumped at the chance to pay a visit. I'd travelled the whole day to get there, starting from home south of London that morning, flying to Marrakech, then catching a bus to Ouarzazate, from where Mohamed had arranged a taxi to meet me to take me the last 20 minutes to Kasbah Tebi. I'm not always that steady on my feet, so was concerned about crossing the stepping stones (or, more accurately, sand bags) across the river, especially as I knew I would be arriving after dark. But Mohamed graciously agreed to alter the route so that we approached across the bridge from the village instead. I was too late for dinner, but they happily rustled up a bowl of soup, an omlette and some pastries, which I was grateful for, especially as I was by that time exhausted and ravenous! There's no doubting the place is atmospheric! I loved the ambiance created by the candles everywhere, although I will say that I found using the candlelit bathroom a challenge! I was also glad of the torch on my phone, as I struggled to see the numbers on the combination lock for my suitcase without it. But, I knew in advance how things would be, so I'm not complaining, just pointing out some easily-rectifiable practicalities. Should your phone not have one (or maybe you don't have a phone!), you might want to think about taking a small torch, especially if you might need to get up in the middle of the night. My only slight complaint was that the water in the shower didn't run away very quickly, and there was nothing to stop it soon covering most of the bathroom. Learn from my mistake, and don't leave any night attire on the bathroom floor! The bed was very comfortable, and I slept soundly. But of course, the icing on the cake came the next morning when, rising bright and early, I had the Ksar pretty much to myself! I happily explored and took photos of the amazing structure as the rising sun lit everything with its golden glow. The place was totally free of day trippers from Marrakech, who didn't arrive until several hours later, and as I sat eating breakfast on the terrace, I gave myself a pat on the back for choosing to stay at Kasbah Tebi. The next night I was staying in Ouarzazate, and Mohamed not only drove me there (at a charge, I wouldn't have expected him to do it for nothing!), but walked me to the door of my accommodation in the Kasbah. Great service all round.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s right inside the ancient part of Ait Benhaddou, making it a fantastic base for exploring the city. Rooftop views are great, and the food provided to guests is delicious. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the lack of power could make longer stays a little tough - there is power in the common areas at least, so you can charge your phone, etc. Still, I’ll definitely want to stay here again if I return to Ait Benhaddou someday.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Kasbah Tebi. It is such a unique place filled with rustic charm and kind hosts. There is no ATM in town (which we hadn’t realized before arriving), but our host insisted we join the rest of the guests for a candlelight dinner saying, “Don’t worry don’t worry. We’ll figure it out tomorrow!” The next day we paid for dinner, our stay, and a beautiful handmade rug via PayPal. The rug was made on site by our hosts mother which was very special.
