Kasbah Tebi is a unique place, a traditional berber kasbah of 400 years old fully renovated respecting the traditionals technics and materials, by the descendants of its builders : my family. Ideally located in the heart of the ksar Aït Benhaddou, our kasbah as all the old ksar was classified as wordheritage site in 1987 by Unesco. We offer 11 rooms (Standard and Deluxe) spread in single, double / twin and family suite. Our accommodation capacity allows us to host groups of travelers. Ideally located between Marrakech and the desert or Canyons of the High Atlas, Aït Benhaddou Ait is a perfect stage point for a southern morocco Tour. Don't hesitate to come enjoy an unique experience, a magical night, out of time, discover the authenticity of the culture and traditions of the berber from High Atlas, in a warm and romantic setting, completly lit with candles.

Just simply amazing. A beautiful place with beautiful people. It is like stepping back in time. I highly recommend anyone thinking about going here to just do it, you will not regret it. The host Mo is multi lingual with a great sense of humour. The food is also incredible. A++++++++

This Kasbah offered a night out of the ordinary. A UNESCO protected site, beautifully restored by the family who have owned the space for 300 years. We were welcomed warmly into a mud palace. Our room was rustic and comfortable with a verandah and ensuite. No electricity meant a lovely candle lit evening, beautiful dinner, great conversation and early to bed. The mud walls create a containment hard to describe but awesome to experience. I would definitely stay again.

A truly unique experience in our 2 week road trip across Morocco. Kasbah Tebi is a family owned 400 year old home and only one of 5 residences remaining in the old city, Owner Mohammed and his mule walked our luggage from the western part of the city over the riverbed to the old village. True, there is no electricity at Kasbah Tebi but there is running water, rooms have toilets and showers and candles were plentiful. A traditional and tasty dInner by candlelight under the stars was perfectly fitting and integral to the experience of this ancient city and authentic Kasbah. The views were spectacular, and while wandering through the narrow streets we were practically alone for a beautiful sunset and sunrise at the top of the hill. For those looking for an off the beaten path experience, I highly recommend Kasbah Tebi.

It's a pleasure to spend the night in such a place. In the heart of Ajt Bin Haddu with a great view of the city and surrounding area. A unique object. Here, the lack of lighting is an advantage. Thanks to the candles, the mood is unique. Super friendly staff, comfortable bed, very tasty food and a warm shower. What more could you want here?

It is an impressive authentic kasbah. The host served hot mint tea and nuts on the terrace which overlooks the dry river bed over which you must walk with your bags from the car park in the village. On one occasion a staff member walked with me to the car park in the western part of the village to help bring my luggage at night. Dinner was served in a candlelit dining room. There is no electricity, but guests are provided with lots of candles for the bedroom. A typical Moroccan breakfast was served on the terrace on ground floor. There is a pleasant roof terrace with views of ksar of Aït Ben Haddou. Kasbah Tebi provided us with a unique experience of old Morocco and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to see the authentic Morocco. I disliked the following: 1) There is no mains electricity. Kasbah relies on solar energy for a limited amount of power — once it’s gone, it’s gone; so ensure you bring a power bank with you. 2) Although there was a wireless internet connection at the beginning, it stopped as soon as electricity stopped after the sunset. 3) The cost of overnight parking is 10 dirhams. 4) Both room and dinner are rather expensive.

Magnificent! There was no electricity within the kasbah, so eating and sleeping there was like experiencing ancient Morocco. The earthen clay structure of the ksar itself felt like we were living in a bygone era. It was a wonderful experience! Like staying in 18th century Morocco, this was truly a unique experience. We had running water in our room, shower, toilet, and sink. Light at night was provided by candlelight, including a wonderful candlelight dinner. Breakfast was provided outside. The service was excellent as well. You must give it a try!

We loved our stay at Kasbah Tebi! It is very beautiful and suits the old village of Aït Ben Haddou. Our room was beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style. There is no electricity in the room, but you can light the room with candles. Which makes it an even more special experience. But don't worry about you phones and cameras, it's possible to charge your electronic devices at the reception. We also chose to have dinner here AND so glad we did that. They served a traditional three-course meal, which was more than perfect and tasted very very well! Also the breakfast was made and served with the same love and tasted very well. But above all: we would like to thank this lovely family for making our stay perfect! If you want to overnight in the beautiful village of Aït Ben Haddou don't look further, cause Kasbah Tebi is the place to be! Kind regards, Anthonius & Kim

A wonderful place and good to have the village pretty much to yourself overnight. We loved staying in the kasbah in our candle lit rooms. Sunset and sunrise are a must, preferably from the top of the hill to watch the village and landscape turn orange. This stay is not high end, but it is absolutely atmospheric and not to be missed, the building is remarkable and Mohamed is working his way through the enormous building to bring it back into life. I imagine the village is heaving with tourists during the day but getting there late and leaving early it was magical.

Maybe we our expectations were to high… but when you book a “deluxe suite” it does give some expectations. So just to be clear, the kasba is very charming and the owners very kind and helpful, but the rooms are very poor. This has not to do with the fact that there is no electricity, but the standard and lack of cleaning was below standard. I recommend you to change how you sell your product.

Response from Mohamed Aït Ougram, Propriétaire at Kasbah Tebi
Responded Nov 23, 2022
Dear guests, thank you for your comment on our guest house. We are glad that you find our kasbah very charming. We have taken your comment into account, which is in line with that of other customers on our twin and single deluxe rooms, which create a feeling of disappointment due to their small size and lack of light. Note that these rooms will be removed from sale from January 2023 and that they will be greatly enlarged to be transformed into a suite for 3/4 people. We would be happy to receive you again in these new rooms which I am sure you will appreciate. Regarding electricity, this is generally what pleases our customers who like to be cut off from the world during their stay with us.

We chose Kasbah Tebi because they are one of few accommodations within the old city of Aït Benhaddou, and we are so happy to have been able to stay here. Exploring the city during the day, and returning to a romantic candlelit dinner is such a memorable and special experience.
