Kasbah Tebi is a unique place, a traditional berber kasbah of 400 years old fully renovated respecting the traditionals technics and materials, by the descendants of its builders : my family. Ideally located in the heart of the ksar Aït Benhaddou, our kasbah as all the old ksar was classified as wordheritage site in 1987 by Unesco. We offer 11 rooms (Standard and Deluxe) spread in single, double / twin and family suite. Our accommodation capacity allows us to host groups of travelers. Ideally located between Marrakech and the desert or Canyons of the High Atlas, Aït Benhaddou Ait is a perfect stage point for a southern morocco Tour. Don't hesitate to come enjoy an unique experience, a magical night, out of time, discover the authenticity of the culture and traditions of the berber from High Atlas, in a warm and romantic setting, completly lit with candles.

Experience to experience at least once, for one night!
The welcome is warm and family-friendly, the Kasbah is superb and the atmosphere there is magical, especially in the evening when it is lit by candles.
The rooms are simple and like the house, comfortable mattresses, authenticity is guaranteed but this should not be an excuse to neglect the cleaning and maintenance of the place
Breathtaking view of the village, a suspended moment.... My only downside is the quality of the meals served, it's a shame in this beautiful place.

It is an impressive authentic kasbah. The host served hot mint tea and nuts on the terrace which overlooks the dry river bed over which you must walk with your bags from the car park in the village. On one occasion a staff member walked with me to the car park in the western part of the village to help bring my luggage at night.

Dinner was served in a candlelit dining room. There is no electricity, but guests are provided with lots of candles for the bedroom.

A typical Moroccan breakfast was served on the terrace on ground floor. There is a pleasant roof terrace with views of ksar of Aït Ben Haddou. Kasbah Tebi provided us with a unique experience of old Morocco and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to see the authentic Morocco.

I disliked the following:

1) There is no mains electricity. Kasbah relies on solar energy for a limited amount of power — once it’s gone, it’s gone; so ensure you bring a power bank with you.

2) Although there was a wireless internet connection at the beginning, it stopped as soon as electricity stopped after the sunset.

3) The cost of overnight parking is 10 dirhams.

4) Both room and dinner are rather expensive.

I stayed with my husband and son in this magical kasbah. Located in a privileged place, in Ait Ben Haddou itself, super cozy, comfortable and quiet, with candle lighting that contributed to the closest thing to a trip back in time. Walking around the surroundings at dusk without the hustle and bustle of tourism and being able to see the sunset in a place like this and at night the starry sky from the balcony were other added experiences. The delicious food. And now I want to highlight and thank with all my heart the treatment received by the people who run the accommodation since we were unlucky enough to be hit by the earthquake on September 8 and both Mohamed and the rest of the people who worked there went out of their way to make us pass the time. night as best as possible in such circumstances despite them being the main party affected by the damage to their accommodation, their livelihood, which they were going to have to spend a good amount of money and a lot of work to be able to fix it. We spent the night by the river all together on rugs and blankets that they found themselves and they made us feel like family, even in the morning they insisted on not letting us leave without breakfast. Without a doubt we will return to this place that, despite the great scare we had, brings back some especially beautiful memories of its people and that beautiful place. We are very happy that at least there was no personal damage in the town, there it was only material and if you read us, from here we send you a big hug with all our love and our greatest wish that everything goes well for you.

The hotel had no electricity, so we had to use candles to see at night. There were no power outlets inside the rooms, only outside, which meant we had to leave our devices outside to charge. There was no internet, and at the end of our stay, they asked for extra money on top of the 120€ we paid per night and counted the money while laughing as we were leaving. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to resolve this issue because we had to leave. Additionally, if you are an animal lover, you won't like what you see. They transport luggage on a donkey that looked very malnourished and mistreated. I would not recommend this place.

Response from Mohamed Aït Ougram, Propriétaire at Kasbah Tebi
Responded Jan 20, 2025
Dear Stella and Swen, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are not surprised to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. Kasbah Tebi offers a unique and authentic experience, entirely off-grid and lit by candlelight. We understand that this concept may not suit everyone, but it is part of what makes our guesthouse special. It is essential for travel agencies to communicate these details clearly when recommending accommodations, and in your case, it seems your agency may not have aligned with your preferences. Regarding your payment, as per our records, it was processed directly through your agency. We hope this clears up any misunderstanding. As for our beloved donkey, Barraka, we assure you he is well-cared for and in excellent health. He has been an invaluable helper for years and receives the best treatment from our team. Barraka sends his regards! We genuinely hope your future travels bring experiences better suited to your tastes. Warm regards,

We loved our stay at Kasbah Tebi! It is very beautiful and suits the old village of Aït Ben Haddou.

Our room was beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style.
There is no electricity in the room, but you can light the room with candles. Which makes it an even more special experience. But don't worry about you phones and cameras, it's possible to charge your electronic devices at the reception.

We also chose to have dinner here AND so glad we did that. They served a traditional three-course meal, which was more than perfect and tasted very very well! Also the breakfast was made and served with the same love and tasted very well.

But above all: we would like to thank this lovely family for making our stay perfect!

If you want to overnight in the beautiful village of Aït Ben Haddou don't look further, cause Kasbah Tebi is the place to be!

Kind regards,
Anthonius & Kim

Leave all urban preconceptions behind and treat yourself to a night in a raw earth Kasbah in perfect Berber style, Mohammed (there are 3, you choose who to interact with) will guide you in this unique experience. A way of staying based on candlelight certainly tickles the imagination of the most romantic, but be careful when booking because you can also choose to sleep in the part of the renovated Kasbah where there will be no shortage of electricity. Frugal candlelit dinner based on tajine (not the best I've tasted in the area), very relaxing breakfast of Moroccan sweets and jams on the enchanting patio overlooking the palm grove. The location is what you will not forget.

Unbelievable, Kasba Tebi allows you to live “the past”. We have received all the instructions to be able to reach it. Where you leave the car, secure parking, (we donated 20diran for one day) Route then on foot to enter the ksar. I can assure you that choosing Kasba Tebi is entering the Berber community of Ait Ben Haddou. They helped us all, from those who carried the suitcase on our shoulders as we crossed the river to reach the structure, to those who brought our luggage back to our return to the parking lot without asking anything. They assisted us throughout .Quality Moroccan dinner. The simple breakfast. The rooms are a bit 'spartan, they refer you to a life of the past, after all you live by candlelight. If you need to recharge your mobile phones you can . Unique, magical experience.

Great stay in the Kasbah Tebi in December 2024. The evening spent by candlelight out of time was a unique and unforgettable moment. Dinner in the dining room to the sound of tam-tams and candlelight was a great friendly time!
As a bonus, the village is also out of time and the location of the Kasbah allows you to visit it at the time when tourists have not yet arrived, it is top!

Je voudrai savoir si nous devons marcher beaucoup du parking pour arriver a l´hotel ?
Answer from KasbahTebi
Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco
