Returned from tarisa Resort a couple of weeks ago and have to agree with most of the reviews on here,not the most modern and probably in need of updating but we knew that before we travelled but booked this hotel for the location which was perfect for us for evening stroll and close enough for a base to explore the northern coast of the island with car hire through the hotel with seasons car rental,we hired a budget small car which was easy to arrange and drive,delivered to the hotel on time picked up the same would recommend this option if you don't want to waste precious time looking around, food was OK and drinks the same, we were all inclusive but didn't spend much time through the day at hotel but never had a problem after a day out finding a sun bed for our early evening swim to cool down,staff were lovely and clean room which was all we were looking for,probably not everyone's ideal hotel but was ample for our needs …

Fantastic stay at Tarisa hotel we went with Mercury tours their tour rep Rama really was hard working and very good and really looked after us . All the staff at the hotel were all so kind and friendly and helpful , food is good hot alway choices fish chicken vegetarian , breakfast omelette freshly cooked the beach is just stunning so beautiful. We were fortunate to be their for Diwali the hotel helped arranged bus to take us at night to local village which had fantastic lights . And visited the temple. local bus stop just 3 min walk were get buss all over the island Unfortunately I got tonsillitis and the staff were just brilliant making me soup and hot chocolate honestly they were all so kind This is our second time to the island but first in Tarisa , when we come again I would only stay at the tarisa…

The Chef of the Tandoor restaurant makes the best food. I would suggest al carte instead of buffet. The service is awesome. Once again, an honourable mention to chef and his delicious food. The rooms are nice aswell.

We had a fabulous week, mixed weather but hotel, staff, food, amenities and entertainment all fantastic. Hotel has a lovely traditional rustic charm, and staff in all departments keen to please. Sarita did an excellent job of making the room clean and tidy with special little touches that were nice. VJ deserves a mention for his commitment to ensuring all guests took part if they want to and bar staff were welcoming and friendly every day.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I spoke to the manager and they will be getting new pillows ours were a bit lumpy. The hotel is basic but well run with all the things you might need. Staff are friendly and helpful. We are vegetarians and the chef made us veggie curry every evening, which was really tasty. We loved Kadisha our charming waitress, Celomaree our room cleaner, I found her on her knees scrubbing our shower one day and Vinod who led the aqua gym class. We had lovely massages at the spa although the steam room and sauna need upgrading.

We had a very good holiday at Tarisa in mid September. There were a couple of disappointing elements but they were not the fault of the hotel. One was the indifferent weather, too much cloud and not enough sun and the second was the beach. Having said this we made the best of both. We were lucky enough to be there when the Ganesh festival was held on the beach and it was a remarkable, colourful ,peaceful and memorable event. The bed was a bit too firm for our liking but the room was well maintained and cleaned. The restaurant and bar staff looked after us well. No , it isn't five star dining but the food was plentiful and obviously some meals suited us better than others. Breakfast was consistently good and the Tandoori night very tasty and well served . Particular thanks to the charming and friendly efficient restaurant supervisor Shakti who is a definite asset to the hotel. He made sure that there was always something for me, particularly cheese, as I am a picky eater! Also Koshila the super efficient and friendly waitress who did everything possible to look after us. They both deserve a pay rise. Reception staff were helpful and did well to manage all the different languages. All in all a good holiday. Would I come again, yes. Will I ? Probably not, too long a journey for us more mature folk but definitely one to remember .…

I stayed for 5 days at Tarissa Resort, my review is for the staff not the resort, most of the staff were amazing and wonderful, they made my birthday special a special thank to the F&B Manager for his 5 star service and also the Restaurant Manager Shakik, Ravid, Kaushik, Theravi, Kamal, Ji, Vijay, the staff are changing the ambiance The hotel needs improvement I love the activities, there was a wonderful man always dancing with guest & doing with them all the activities he was just amazing very sad that I did not see him on my last day, he was encouraging me to do the activities

Stayed at the Tarisa for two weeks in September, and from start to finish it was absolutely fantastic.Whilst it is not the most upmarket hotel in Mauritius I would much rather stay here due to the excellent staff.Shakti was amazing, and could not do enough for his guests.The three musketeers working behind the bar were also very friendly and always good for a laugh.The only fly in the ointment was one gentleman in the bar who seemed to be part of the management and liked to go out of his way to make life difficult.Food was tasty, but could perhaps do with less repetition, and I suspect that vegetarians will struggle.Other guests were great fun, really friendly and every evening there would be chats and laughter.If you are looking for a good value holiday in Mauritius choose the Tarisa.…
