I stayed in redang beach resort for 4 nights 5 days first lets state the positives : Smooth check in although the crowds were a lot The hotel is right in-front of the jetty checkout Cons : As a family of 4 we were given a superior room which fits barely 2 ppl like 12m not more the room was in the old wing totally run down the bathroom is rusted and a disaster i went down to them requested another room was given a typical 1 same like the first with no rust on the faucets which i spent the 1 disaster night next day i requested to see all their room types on which they led me to the new renovated wing ! Which i paid more for an upgrade which saved my whole trip i dont know why they did not suggest an upgrade and me paying from the first place , i had no idea they had better type of rooms . The food was so so all malay food yet its fine but wished to have any a la carte service .

I stayed here three nights as a first-time visitor on a dive trip to Pulau Redang. First the positives. 1. The resort is efficient. I was picked up at Kuala Terengganu airport and driven to ferry terminal, given directions to board ferry (about 90 minutes) and unloaded with ~100 other passengers on beach in front of resort. Despite the crowds the check-in was smooth. No complaints about processes. 2. The resort's dive shop (run independently) is good. I liked the instructors, the facility was well run (you are given a #'d space to hang up your wet suit, booties, fins etc.) plus a small locker to put other stuff. The lock on the locker wouldn't stop a child from opening so u don't want to keep valuables in it. The shop's boss, Robert, runs a good center and leads the dive groups well. 3. The food was ok. Nothing to rave about but there was plenty and the serving process efficient -- everything is brought to your table . 4. Great beach and location. 5. Good Covid protocols, from what I could see. The Bad and the Ugly. 1. The rooms and overall facility is run down. My room was "clean" in the sense that there was no sand, dirt, etc. My room was billed as a "deluxe" twin but there was nothingk9 deluxe about it. Chipped paint, shower stall glass opaque with dried soapy water, floor around stall encrusted with dried gunk, first safe wouldnt work so second delivered, stain on the sofa at foot of bed, dust coating tips of ceiling fan blades, etc. You get the picture. The exterior of the buildings were in the same worn condition. No view whatsoever from my room -- just a sidewalk and more units (two story) on the other side. I wont be staying there again. The resort's web site badly oversold the rooms in terms of what you get.

The booking process was very pleasant and smooth. Ice (my booking agent) answered my questions and enquiries very prompt and is really helpful. Facilities: Great Stayed there for 3 days 2 nights for 3 rooms. The room was a bit small for 4 people considering only standard room was available at the time of booking. Since we’re still in the midst of covid, there’s no buffet style. They have many staffs there and will deliver the food to your table. Can also request for more food if not enough. Activities: Disappointed Since i book the snorkelling package, we should have a great snorkelling experience of our lives. Instead, here’s what happen. We get 3 times snorkelling. The first one is the evening of our first day. We were told during chack-in it was cancelled due to poor weather. Ok that is acceptable since we see it for ourselves that the wind and waves are really strong. So we decided to snorkel at the beach instead. Because it was cancelled, the beach was crowded with people. The second snorkelling was in the morning of the second day. I was legit surprised that we only went to one checkpoint only. ONE CHECKPOINT! And that is to see fish only. Since i booked the snorkelling package i thought that at least we will have like 4-5 snorkelling point (like other islands). But NO. I know this because i am from Terengganu and have been to other islands in Terengganu. My brother asked the staff at the snorkelling centre if our third snorkelling point would be at turtle or shark point. TO MY SURPRISE he said we need to PAY EXTRA TO SEE THE TURTLE! Which is RM40/pax. Plus he said that after this we still don’t know which point we will go. WHAT KIND OF AN ANSWER IS THAT? And plus we also paid for the Marine Park (closed), but cannot refund coz they said that this whole island is the Marine Park. You expect people to believe that? Because my family and i were so disappointed and so mad, we did not put our hopes high for the evening snorkelling. Hence we find other boat services (Aurora boat service guided by Azmi) coz we really wanted to see the turtles and go to the famous sandbar. That evening came and LO AND BEHOLD the resort staff informed us LAST MINUTE that the snorkelling IS CANCELLED ONCE AGAIN!!! He said that the weather is bad and all the other resort also cancelled. Since we have to board the Aurora Boat at the long beach (the other side) and GUESS WHAT HAPPEN? We saw many people from Sari Pacifica came down and board the boat ready for snorkelling. WHAT THE H*** is this? When we talked to the other boat man who was at the same snorkelling point as us, he said that they cannot simply cancel the snorkelling trip. If one resort is cancelled then, every resort on that island should be cancelled as well due to bad weather. After we got back, we saw people from our resort ready to go snorkelling (because they paid the RM40 for the turtle point). What happen to that guy’s word about snorkelling is cancelled coz the weather is bad??? So if you pay extra, then the snorkelling trip is not cancelled? That is the shitiest story you guys have come up. I know the resort is trying to recover from the covid thing coz you guys can’t operate but ripping people’s money off? I actually feel sorry for people who travelled so far just to experience the beauty of the sea and was greatly disappointed by this resort. In conclusion, stay here if you don’t mind getting disappointed.

My family 8A2C went for a quick vacation at Redang Beach Resort amidst the Covid19 pandemic control period. Overall Malaysia is keeping the pandemic under control so it is not so much worry to us on our exposure. The resort (like other hotels in Malaysia) is implementing some controls to dampen the risks of Covid19, like social distancing, temp check, crowd control etc. Saw some visitors acted unreasonable when they were offended by the controls, but fortunately the staff acted professionally. Overall the control measures are acceptable and did not spoil too much our joyful moments. The rooms are well maintained and clean - 90% Food and beverage - no more buffet style during controls period, but quality still ok - 80% Amenities- nice souvenir shop, mini mart, unique batik making shop, great kopitiam and eateries - 90% Beach - at the white sand long beach -95% Staff - friendly and mostly young staff- 90% Activities - snorkeling, jungle tracking, see turtle... no more marine park during control period :( - 80% Ambience - nice beach ambience throughout the resort as your room is practically sit on beach, no typical hotel lobby, carpet alley, elevator etc. I walked barefoot from room to sea and back to room - 100%

At dinner time, we came here to have our dinner at the ala carte bar. They typically serves chinese dishes and it is just amazing! When the sun goes down, more and more people will gather by the beach and they will start the beach clubbing!
