It's really great alternative to Redang. It's really nice and quiet. Great place to read a book, tan under the sun without much people. Stayed there for 4 days and i really lived out the beach bum type of lifestyle. The place is really run in a family business manner, don't expect fancy high class hotel service but the service...

This place is for a relaxing holiday with no stress and peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed very much the warm atmosphere from the staff and the food was in our opinion very nice. Good snorkling condition and helpful guiding... We went with our youngest daughter (aged 16) and since we liked it so much, in a couple of weeks my houseband...

Having lived in KL for 14 years now we've had the opportunity to explore much of the sensational East Coast and have stayed in a wide range of accommodation. After reading a few negative comments here I felt compelled to write one of my own. We've stayed at Gem island numerous times now and continue to return as it is...

We went in a group of 17 pax to celebrate a close friend's birthday - everything was arranged smoothly from booking to checking in. The staff were very friendly and accomodating , especially Irene who was always available for help and advice . The food was excellent with lots of variation during our 3 days' stay -unlike some resort where...

We stayed at the Gem resort for a long weekend. Not sure that it even classifies as a resort. As for the Spa part, well there should be some rule about adding Spa to your name if you don’t even know what it means. Gem Island is really tiny and the resort covers almost every inch of it. The photos...

Love the beach, location, water sports, friendly staff. Great weekend escape, good valu for money. I would go back...

The rooms are beautiful - amazing balconys over the sea with great swings and the staff are simply wonderful, all so friendly and helpful and genuinely love the tiny island they're on and that shows. We wanted to experience some luxury during our trip and stayed for 4 days. It was wonderful! Everything was good about the resort. The balcony was a relaxing place to read a book and watch the colourful fish, reef sharks and fighting crabs in the water and on the rocks beneath the balcony. I liked the Spa so much that...

The beach is really a pristine place - excellent for a "do nothing holiday" during non peak season. When we first arrive, there was only 3 other rooms occupied in the entire island. Although it can be fairly quiet at times, this can be a great place for couples who are looking forward to doing nothing but to relax (point...
