The resort located on a very small island, just beside the bigger Kapas island. However, because it is the only resort on the small island, it is very private. The beach is small but exclusive to resort guess only, so not too crowded. Food is tasty, standard hotel price. Very clean. Water activities such as kayak, snorkeling.

I've been to this resort for few times. The best thing about this resort is that I can have all the peace and quiet that I need. It is not suitable for travellers who are looking for fun and excitement as they do not have many water activities. As for me, this is the best place to hide out from... More

This is not the luxurious island that you will find in Langkawi. The beach is very small and rocky. The turtle sanctuary is actually small and it seems that it is not funded by any organization. I commend the efforts of the resort though in trying to protect the turtles. The rooms and bathrooms are very basic. The bathroom needs... More

Didn't know what to expect at this little offshore place. Rolled the dice and came out on top! Cute, charming accommodations. Very old school / old world dining situation.... assigned seating with hand written place cards. Old Motown records were playing most nights and it added this wonderful summer camp feel to the whole experience. Nice little beach out front... More

We drove 5 hours from Klang, Selangor to get to Marang Jetti. Plenty of parking spaces and managed to leave the car infront of Surai link, the recommended ferry transfer. The people there were expecting us. Parking was RM7 per day. Had lunch and was taken to the resort which took around 10 minutes in a very very fast and... More

We were a largish party who spent 3 nights in Gem in August. The island is relatively easy to get to via Marang, especially via the new East Coast Expressway from KL. The resort has a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere as it is 'private' and it is the only hotel on Gem island. The atmosphere in the dining room was... More

We spent one night at the resort and had an awesome time. We were a group of 50, celebrating a wedding, and the staff was very accomodating. We had a little party in the dining area, which ended up in the pool until midnight. The rooms were comfortable and clean, but the electricity did not work in some of them.... More

I had the pleasure of spending just two nights on Gem island but would have gladly stayed for more. The beautiful beaches and friendly staff will soon make sure you are relaxed and easily make up for the few little touches that are missing. As everything comes from the mainland be prepared to not always be able to get everything... More

We, a family of 5, have spent 3 nights and 4 days at Gem Island. The sea is beautiful and has a lot of aquamarine life near the shore. You need googles and you can enjoy the colorful fish. Or rent a kayak (15 RM / hour) and kayak to the nearby island. The beach is nice and the atmosphere... More
