My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on 22nd May and we were the only 2 guests. We were greeted by all the staff when we arrived and they all seemed really happy to see us. We went on a river cruise 3 times and was fortunate to see orangs on 2 separate occasions along with proboscis monkeys... More

We're so glad we ended up choosing to stay at KJC. We did a 3d/2n stay with extra night & elephant cruises added. It's not listed on the website, but you can absolutely book longer stays here too. Communication was fast & easy from the very beginning. Excellent value for the money with good food & reasonable accommodations (you're in... More

KJC has a lot of good things going for it: + small numbers on the river cruise - most of the other boats we saw had double or triple our numbers. The most crowded boat ride we had was 5 guests in total, whereas some of the other resorts pack 12 people in a boat. + Guides good at spotting... More

We really enjoyed our visit here thanks to the friendly staff, good guides and terrific food. The trips along the river were great especially the afternoon/sunset our second evening. Our 4 year old absolutely loved the boats and playing with the staff around dinner time. Really nothing to say except its a camp not a 4 star resort so as... More

We booked via e-mail a 2d1n trip. The driver picked us up from Sepilok and dropped off to Sandakan the next day. The accommodation is basic, but clean. The rooms are fan-only but it's sufficient. We've booked one triple room but received two double rooms, which was nice :) The food is really great (lunch, dinner and breakfast were included... More

We stayed at the Jungle Camp and enjoyed a 2 day 1 night package. Our tour guide Joseph Chong was very good, informative and friendly. The river cruises (1 at 4pm and 1 at 6.30am the next day) were breathtaking and absolutely amazing. The accommodation was basic but very clean, spacious and had everything we needed (no aircon but had... More

This is a nice, well organised tour that we would highly recommend, particularly for more budget conscious travellers. The camp is about 10mins in a boat from the jetty in Kampung Village which is a 45 min drive from the junction off the main road between Semporna and Sandakan. The transfers were well organised. The accommodation is simple if not... More

We had an amazing stay here. We were picked up at the airport and stopped at Sepolik before heading to the camp. All the staff are incredibly friendly and make sure you have the best time. Shah is a great guide and has plenty of knowledge about the animals you see. Comparing to the price you pay at other camps... More

3 day 2 night stay at KJC with grandparents, kids and baby in tow. Radzmil and crew collected us from Sepilok and transported to the camp. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and earnest, especially Iza who wrote out some Malay for my daughter to learn. Monty is a great cook. The boat rides were exhilarating and memorable. On day 2 we... More

My initial email communications with KJC were great. They were quick to respond, gave clear information about their tours and confirmed everything thoroughly. My pickup in Sepilok was prompt and courteous, and the boat trip to camp was without problems. Lunch was good, the afternoon boat trip was just wonderful (lots of wildlife and 7 tourists spread across 2 boats;... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kinabatangan Jungle Camp was established in the year 2004 in the lower Kinatangan Wildlife Sanctuary near the village of Bilit. The whole concept is simply truly jungle. Today, many repeat visitors especially birders still come to KJC to search for the very illusive Bornean Ground Cuckoo and others still try their luck to see the Clouded Leopard. ... more   less
