Travelers' Choice
Pangkor Laut is a privately owned island located three miles off the West Coast of Malaysia along the Straits of Malacca. This piece of paradise has been 2 million years in the making, and here you will find one of the world's premier resorts nestling in the shade of forest giants as old as the land. You will find no other resorts - just secluded bays curled around pristine beaches, evening skies woven with colour, and a deep sense of serenity reserved exclusively for our guests. A combination of luxury, natural beauty and age-old wilderness woven together to produce an environment where peace and magically memorable moments are the currency. Of the island's 300 acres, only a fraction has been developed to house the Resort and its eight Estates. Wooden buildings blend seamlessly into the forest as if nature had been the architect dictating how walls curve around foliage, and roofs open up to allow trees to continue on their journey to the sky. Nature is respected here, almost revered, and it rewards visitors in ways that simply need to be experienced.

Pangkor Laut Resort is widely acclaimed for its exceptional service, with staff often commended for their friendliness and efficiency, though some guests suggest there's room for improvement. While Uncle Lim's restaurant is noted for its reasonable prices, opinions on overall value vary, with some finding the resort expensive. The atmosphere is lauded for its serenity and sea views, particularly suited for special celebrations. Amenities like the spa and beaches are highly regarded, despite minor critiques. Room quality is generally celebrated for space and vistas, but maintenance has been flagged by a few. Cleanliness is consistently praised, but not without exceptions. The resort's picturesque location is a highlight, though accessibility may be a concern for some.

My husband George and I have just left this beautiful resort and are really sorry to be leaving. We stayed for 7 nights in a hill side villa with incredible views. I would say that my husband and I have pretty high standards, and we are big foodies, so this is really important to us when staying abroad. Firstly, the accommodation was perfect. You had everything you needed and a coffee machine (which is really important to me). It was clean and comfortable and well maintained. What was very pleasantly surprising was that despite it being quite busy, we never struggled to find a sunbed in a tranquil spot. My husband spent most of his time relaxing in a lovely wooden hut with a bed in it, and there was always one available, even after a late breakfast and arriving after 11 am. All the staff were very polite and helpful. And well, the food.. I am not a lover of buffets as they tend to be of lower quality than ordering at a restaurant, but this was certainly not the case here. .There was always a good variety and choice and the quality was excellent. The Malaysian food especially was incredible. I'm a very fussy eater and would rather go without if nothing takes my fancy. But I can honestly say, I never, ever skipped a meal. Shakil (just one of the many wonderful waiters) was incredibly attentive, and always made sure we were taken care of. He supplied me with copious amounts of decaffeinated coffee in the evenings and black Americanos during the day. Yusra, who is the head manager, of the sweet section was so helpful in explaining all the gorgeous desserts and tempting my husband George to try them all. I didn't need any tempting 🤣. Mirzan supplied us with wonderful, freshly sweezed carrot and ginger juice down by the spa pool area (our favourite spot). He was also very attentive and friendly. I honestly can't fault this resort. Everyone made it a truly restful, enjoyable stay. We hope to come back 🙏

What’s not to love; the vintage yet immaculate balinese architecture sits gorgeously on a lush green island sends immediate relaxing hormones to us city dwellers. Full board food was amazing, Spa Village was on par with it’s reputation and cherry on top, Emerald Bay was perfect for us. There may be prettier coasts around the world but nothing beats lounging under the many shaded trees of a private Emerald Bay with clean facilities after a swim plus a beach restaurant with free water station! Extremely convenient for avid beachgoers. And yet, what actually made our holiday was the great team behind it. I personally felt the high level of care from everyone on the island which reflects onto this well-managed 30 years of age resort. Special shoutout to Segar, Min, Vije and Siska who went the extra mile to make us feel special. My toddler is still mentioning his fish feeding sesh with Uncle Min and lights from Uncle Segar and his free ice cream from Vije. We truly appreciate everybody here that gifted us these great memories and of course, we can’t wait to be back !

We have had the pleasure to visit Pangkor Laut Resort in February 2024. 15-17th – Estate No. 5. We had an amazing stay. The estate was unique and very well equipped. The surroundings were very true to nature. The pool and the area around the pool was beautiful and very relaxing. The staff: Sunil, house keeping and Chef was very kind, professional and caring. From the first minute we arrived they cared for our kids and made us feel at home. They were at our service all time and at the same time we did not even notice them. The chef made us very tasteful breakfast and dinner, very delicious. House keeping made our rooms so nice and welcoming every day and kept all surroundings clean and tidy. Sunil made our stay outstanding. He is the most kind and friendly person and made us feel comfortable. We will for sure return some day.

The only hotel resort on Pangkor Isalnd! Only the resort guests and staff will be here so one will not be distubed by other visitors/tourist, can really have a very relaxed time here. The resort is huge and with many activities to participate in, so one will never get bored here. Loved the villa rooms and many beautiful pools here.

It's been quite a long time since my last visit to island. So finally for school holiday I decided to try something more luxury and convenient for a family of 5, me, wife and 3 teens. We took the hill villa. View from it was beautiful. I get to see sun rise every morning and see boats going in and out of resort. I must also mention there is this pair of beautiful hornbills would land on my unit balcony to greet good morning every now and then and sometimes in evening. I called them Mr and Mrs Bill. During our stay I read in news there was water supply problem due to main pipeline problem from mainland to Pangkor Island. Not a single of my 4 days stay was I running short of fresh water or nor did we all face water issues. And seeing the supply ship docking every day gives you a nice scenery than typical days. It makes the scenery at sea villa even more beautiful like an additional thing from usual days. I just want to say everything went so well for me and family. Everything was wonderful from food to my stay and doing activities like beach day and sun set cruise. The service is tip top, everyone was so nice especially Mr Segar and all his team. Let me just say I felt very valued and appreciated that I chose to stay at this resort. Very organized from making reservation right to my room. I will surely come back, a matter of when and which villa. Thank you all there again for making my stay with my family so memorable. My children will surely remember this wonderful stay experience. See kids will remember when it is extraordinary or different than usual. Keep up the good work guys. I see ya all again soon! Best regards.

We stayed in Malaysia for over 2 weeks and in five different hotels, and though they were all excellent Pangkhor was our stand out favourite. Everything was first class: the food in all locations was fantastic, the accommodation (hillside villa and water villa) was fabulous and the staff were so warm and friendly. Several went the extra mile to provide us with the best holiday experiences ( Sohag, Krishna, Mohammed, Thurein to name but a few). We only wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you to all concerned. Pangkhor will live in our hearts and minds forever.

Amazing place for the perfect holiday! We had the residents package which I definitely recommend as all we had to pay for at the end of our stay was the drinks and the spa. Can not recommend the spa experience enough, it's a must do! The beach is the perfect place to spend the day, the sun loungers can be in the shade or the sun and the calm water is perfect for kids.

This was everything we hoped it would be. We booked through Audley Travel and Izi arranged everything as we wanted. Private transfer from KL to Marina Bay (3.5 hours) where we were checked in my the pleasant and welcoming staff before we took out 15 boat ride to Pangkor Laut Island. We had a spa villa over the sea but all the accommodation was fabulous so you don’t need to upgrade unless you want to use the spa pool. We only used this twice as most of our time we spend on the beach in Emerald Bay and enjoyed this quiet area and the lovely bar/food at Chapmans. Recommend you book all inclusive . Food and service were all excellent We stayed 14 nights but the average stay was 2-5 nights Very quiet and peaceful so if you want lots of entertainment don’t go.

Pangkor Laut is a truly unique experience and this was probably our best vacation ever. The private island makes it feel a world away. We thought we may get bored with a whole week but there is plenty to do and the rainforest and wildlife just make it feel magical. It doesn’t feel like a normal hotel. Some comments about it feeling dated are a little unfair. This is not a new hotel and the excellent staff maintain it well. If anything it makes it feel more genuine. Special thanks to the Restaurant Manager, Mages. And to Shakil and Ram. With a week it would have been nice if Fisherman’s Cove was open more to give more variety but not a major issue. Transfers were well organised and despite traffic we had easy drives to KL. Highly recommended and we will be back.

We’ve been a repeated guests of PLR from when I was pregnant with my eldest son (who is now 15 years old) and have not been here since the COVID 19 pandemic. Returning here post COVID 19 was enlightening and refreshing. This time we stayed at The Estate. Our stay at Estate #7 was nothing short of amazing. It has four luxurious old British bungalow-like villas with a private pool, a pavillion and a common dining hall for our large family of 6 adults and 6 children. The estate offers absolute privacy and an almost complete relaxation surrounded by nature during our four days stay over the CNY break. We were well taken care off by a team of dedicated people right from our arrival to our departure. I must commend the ever smiley Mr Sunil for his dedication, warmth, thoughtfulness, patience and efficiency, acceding to our requests where possible despite his busy work schedule. He is one of a kind and is a valuable asset to the resort. Also, I would like to mention the quiet but affable Chef Farizan who cooked most of our meals during our stay. He took note of our preferences, cooked on request and was very patient too. We enjoyed all his dishes very much. On our last night (around 11pm), my children was hungry and he whipped out a really large plate of fried flat noodles with eggs in a jiffy. My children loved it that they requested it for breakfast the next morning. The team of amazing staff that made out of Mr Sunil, Chef Farizan, Kak Long, the gardener, the security guy and few others made our stay enjoyable. We will definitely return.
