I came for a few days and ended up staying for nearly two weeks. In French-speaking Madagascar this place is unashamedly anglophone and consequently popular as a result. Meals are around a communal table and it is one of those places where everyone (don't like the phrase but it works here) hags out together: another reason for its popularity. Evenings...

Ocky's house of knowledge, whales on the horizon, vanilla rum, snorkeling, bounty paradise, pizza, lemurs all around, great accommodation, man... I was there with a friend in July 2014 and it was by far the best experience I've had in my life. The sheer beauty of this place is indescribable, the hospitality unforgettable.

Me and my dad broke away to Ile Aux Nattes for New Years and had a very pleasant stay at La Petite Traversee. The food was great and the beers were cold. I especially enjoyed the pap & wors and meeting other South Africans.

Beautiful location with excellent staff always willing to help you. The chefs were great with family style dining. Clean and comfortable and attend to all questions. Trustworthy peopleand did not worry about keeping things locked up all the time. Slept with windows wide open! Hired staff for a pirogue island cruise. They are always willing to get you to Ste....

We spent 10 days here. Absolute bliss. Total relaxation. Beds are comfy (very good matresses, very good pillows). Two black and white ruffed lemurs stop by every day. If you missed out on taking good pictures of these lovely animals in Ranomafana (where they stay high up in the trees) this is your chance. Staff is great. Ockie can keep...

The Afrikaans language is rich in feelings if a bit short on vocabulary, and 'lekker' describes one of the best feelings of all. It means tasty, content, happy, joyful, appreciative and that new English word, 'cool.' La Petite (as everyone calls it, is lekker. All around the tiny island of Ile aux Nattes are various hostelries, but at only one...

We stayed 2 nights in La petite. We felt very welcome by Ockie and his staff. If you happen to run into a guilty pleasure music competition: be ready to name your giulty pleasure song and don't vote for Celine Dion ;-) Atmosphere in the restaurant is great. You eat together at a set time. Food is very good! Choice...

This was our second stay at La Petite Traversee after a family trip there in December 2013. This time was with my 12 year old son on our own and during August which was cooler than December (Hot!) but still beautifully warm. Here's the short version: Hospitality : Great, Ockie and his team really looked after us Food: Great, Oliver...

It is just so nice I don't know where to start.... We got here after we spent one (sleepless) night at another place on the other side of the island and luckily for us Ockie had a vacant bungalow for us. The bungalow itself was: clean, spacious, pragmatically furnished, with daylight tiles in the roof for light, functioning bathroom and...
