The location with ocean view, easy beach acces and a small mangrove tree-forest on walking distance was a lovely place to relax. The service of the owner and other employees was very good. When our 'air maybe' flight was delayed our longer attendance was no problem. I also loved the view of all the fisher boats lying on the beach next to the hotel.

Very friendly staff and good location at the beach. Bungalows are in poor condition, especially the bathrooms. They need definitively an overhaul. The place lacks also of a certain cosy atmosphere. Ugly glass windows in the restaurant. There is the Hotel Poseidon just five minutes north of the Hotel Bellevue. Very nice bungalows with aircon. Romantic restaurant with good food. Scuba diving shop inside the hotel. It is worth to pay a bit more to get a decent rest!

The service, food and staff at the beautifully located hotel is outstanding! Nothing is a bother and the clean bungalows are spacious and right on the beach. Beautiful gardens, and we even had local dancers and musicians perform for us one evening. Highly recommend

We loved this place and didn’t want to leave. Jimmy and Olivia were great hosts and excellent service was also provided by Christian and Piccolo in the restaurant/bar. We had a delightful bungalow right on the beach. Soap and towels were provided, but no beach towels. We had a couple of issues with light bulbs, but both were changed immediately this was reported. Nice comfortable bed and the breeze blows through the bungalow with screened windows that can safely be left open. There is not a lot of privacy for the shower and toilet, both behind walls, with doors, but no closed in ceiling. Rooms were cleaned and towels changed every day. Sun loungers are provided, and they will bring you a mattress. The beach is cleaned every day and they do have security present day and night. However, we never felt threatened in any way. This is a beach hotel like no other we have ever stayed at. There is a fishing village right next door, housing probably a couple of thousand people. The men go out in their fishing boats, made on the beach out of local trees, at 5.30am. If you get up to watch, it is a stunning sight. Pink sky, sea like a mill pond and hundreds of boats heading out to sea. Later in the day, they all come back in and there is a constant stream of mainly women and children walking up and down the beach, carrying fish in buckets and baskets on their heads. People watching takes on a whole new meaning at this place. If you say Salama (hello), they are all very friendly and the children, in particular, love to have their photos taken and see what they look like. Jimmy organised for us to go on a snorkelling trip in one of the traditional boats, that was an experience in itself, not your normal catamaran! The snorkelling was good, and fish were abundant. They provide snorkel, mask, and fins, if you want them. And the 2 lads that took us rigged up a pole attached to the outrigger to help you to get back into the boat! Simple, but very effective. We also did a trip to the spiny forest. Interesting if you want to see baobab trees, but nothing much else to see. On our last morning, Jimmy arranged for Piccolo to take us for a walk through the fishing village; something we wouldn’t have done on our own, but so worth doing, such an eye opener, and we visited the local school, where they sang Frere Jacques for us. Breakfast changed every day and eggs are always available if you ask. They have a fairly extensive a la carte menu for lunch and dinner and all food was very good. Fish comes in fresh from the village next door every day. The restaurant is elevated above the beach, so offers beautiful views, although that does mean you have a bit of a climb up and down, if you have a bungalow on the beach! Sunset every night was stunning, whether on the beach, or up in the bar/restaurant. This place is very special and unique. Thank you Jimmy and Olivia. This finished off our tour of Madagascar perfectly. We didn’t want to leave. This place is quite outstanding, but do not expect 5 star facilities, or waiter service on the beach (!) or you may be disappointed. Just remember this is Madagascar.

Think about 5* hotels that you have stayed in and Michelin starred restaurants where you have dined. And then forget all of that. This place is unique and better than all of that. If you are not happy here then there’s probably nowhere on earth that you will be. Olivia and Jimmy are exceptional people who do everything possible to achieve the best all round experience for their guests. Stay here and enjoy 😊

First stop at our Madagascar trip. Transfer by hotel, followed by a warm welcome of Jimmy and the crew. The bar looks out over the nearby fishing village, great to see all fishingman return around lunch. Plenty of activities and a great beach. The hotel is very committed to social responsibility. We highly recommend this place!

Belle Vue Hotel is an excellent Hotel at the beach, in Ifaty. You can walk at the beach, see the fishermen arrive, and there are several activities you can choose. Massage is excellent. The food is also very good and staff is very kind and professional. And you can have a transfer to the airport.

We arrived at the Belle Vue and the Indian Ocean at the end of our 14 days of cycling through Madagascar. First things first: we were welcomed in the most personal and friendly way. The Boss was super nice - explained us the dos and don'ts in this part of Madagascar and we felt immediately at the right place. The Bungalows are super clean and spacious (ok, i was one of the lucky ones who got the newest ones). I wanted lobster for dinner and the guys made it possible. At the last day the boss took the time to bring us to the airport, told us some great stories about the life as a hotelier in this part of the world. I have great memories of the 2.5 days we stayed in Belle Vue and can only recommend it. thanks for the great time and especially for bringing me back my phone that I forgot in the car :-)

We (4 adults) spent 3 night in this beautiful place at the end of March 2018. There were not much other guests there at the same time, so we practically got the whole place for ourselves. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful - special thanks for Mima and Mioha, who both seem to be present 24/7. We used the hotel services to arrange scuba diving, snorkelling, baobab park visit, massage, and special dinner arrangements. Food and rum were from good to excellent. The beach bungalow was a bit hot unless the sea breeze did not come directly to an open window. Beach was okay, and swimming also when the tide was high. On low tide you needed to walk a little bit further to the sea. There is a fishing village near by, and a cheerful horde of children was guaranteed if you spent more time on the waterfront. Also watching the fishing boats go and come was greatly entertaining.

The Belle Vue Hotel outside of Ifaty is lovely, with a restaurant/bar overlooking the sea, and rooms both in the main building and also down by the beach. I stayed in a beach-front room, and it was very large and nicely decorated and finished. The food is good, and the staff are friendly. The beach is lovely, and the view at sunset is just perfect.
