Stunning lodge, excellent service and delicious food! What else can you ask for? This lodge has ticked all the boxes. The rooms were absolutely amazing and had the most sensational views. The safari cars were super special and made the game drives exceptional, connecting fully with nature. We saw elephants, buffaloes and zebras in large herds, and of course the lion, lioness and surprise surprise, the crocodile, at the edge of the lily-covered dam. Amazing experience! Definitely recommend it! What amazed me the most was the level of culinary extravaganza in the middle of no where! Well done guys
We took the SGR and got picked up by the lodge from Voi station. A quick 1 hour later we were overlooking the great expanse of Lumo conservancy. The one thing you realize right away is the silence. You practically have a whole conservancy to yourself if you’d like the game drives. There’s hardly other tour vans or people. If you choose to stay and rest, the cottages have been revamped in a most elegant and beautifully appointed with local decor and repurposed the old olive wood. I loved the outdoor shower. You’re forced to relax and peel your leave your city stresses away. The food is delicious and the service is sublime. Go before others discover this gem…in Voi.
I recently visited Lions Bluff with some friends. We took the SGR (train) from Nairobi to Voi, which was a safari in itself. Lions Bluff has an absolutely stunning location on top of a ridge, in the middle of the Lumo Conservancy, with sweeping views of the plains and the green hills of Africa beyond. The stylish architecture of the rooms, with their thatched roofs, glass walls and extensive private verandahs built on stilts, blends so well with nature; where else in the world can you lie in your four poster bed with nothing but air between you and Mount Kilimanjaro on the horizon. There is incredible attention to detail in the rooms, yet they have an understated elegance too. The infinity pool and the open dining area are lovely, but what would all this be without the attentive staff under the capable management of Michaela; what a great team, they made us feel so welcome. The game drives (both day and night ones) with Christopher were fantastic. He is so knowledgeable and I managed to get great photographs of birds including bateleur eagles and kori bustards doing their respective courtship displays. The variety of landscapes within the Lumo Conservancy was a surprise especially the riverine forests with elephant and huge herds of buffalo. There are large numbers of kongoni too as well as other plains game including eland, impala and zebra. We did see some lions with cubs. Our picnic breakfast was delicious as was all in fact all the food we were served. A special thank you to the chef for making such delicious gluten free bread. Not everyone wants to spend all their time out on game drives and the great thing at Lions Bluff is that there are now spa treatments available, and yes we did indulge in foot reflexology, body scrub and head and shoulder massages, which were done in the privacy of our own rooms and were all fantastic. We loved the infinity pool which was perfect for cooling off in and the comfortable day beds were perfect for relaxing on and enjoying the sweeping views of this African paradise. We all love African sunrises and sunsets; at Lions Bluff we found we were at the perfect location to capture both.…
My husband and I spent a night at the Lions Bluff camp site. The campsite is well equipped with showers and toilets and a seating area overseeing the beautiful Tscai landscape. We did however enjoy a couple of meals restaurant at the lodge. The newly refurbished lodge is very well decorated and the staff were helpful. The lovely owner was also around, welcoming guests and answering all of our questions! We will definitely return. Sarah’s and Liam
My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Lions Bluff Lodge in March. It's a new lodge and is really nice. The room is beautiful - windows everywhere, a big indoor shower and another shower outside, nice thatched roof, clean/comfortable bed, and cute seating indoors and out. (We did have a guest, a bushbaby, sneak into our room a couple of times and that was fun, other than that he pooped on the desk.) We enjoyed spending time in our room when not on game drives or at the dining area or infinity pool, mostly sitting outside looking over the savanna at the animals or incoming rain storms. From our room we could see elephants, zebras, and a large ostrich family. (Bring binoculars!) The pool was really nice and of course there are amazing views from there, too. The dining area is really extravagant - a huge fire pit where you can have drinks and snacks before dinner, great views from some of the outer tables, even little statues carved into the wood. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were perfect - not too big, but we definitely didn't go hungry! The employees were all really nice and friendly and took the time to make sure we were having the best time possible. The game drives were really nice - the area was green and much more lush than I expected! We saw tons of animals, including several species we didn't see anywhere else during our travels in Kenya (kudu, tortoises, and dik dik). Our guide, Christopher, knew everything about the area, the animals, the plants, and the way everything interacts with each other. His knowledge made the game drives even more enjoyable. The one thing I would mention that I wasn't expecting is that we went on game drives with another couple who we weren't traveling with (it wasn't just me and my husband; they paired us up with another couple). Not a big deal, but this was just unexpected. I would definitely recommend staying here.…
The location in Tsavo Park is perfect, the view from the Lion Bluff Lodge are incredible and all accomodations are good (quality of the lodge, swimming pool, restaurant,..) . All the staff are really nice and can organize quickly your journey in Tsavo (their guide for the car drive are really good and knows so much about the park).
Loved our stay at Lion's Bluff. The cottages are cozy, elegant and amazing. The view from the terrace is unique. Loved the outside shower. Outstanding was also the excellent service and friendliness of staff. Saw lots of different animals during the game drives, which was amazing for my niece who was visiting. The infinity pool is beautiful and a good place to cool down after a hot day. The manager is always around, has a friendly word for everyone and resolves any issues that may arise. I will definitely come back.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst on safari. We were unsure as to what to expect prior to our visit but we were pleasantly shocked at the standard of the whole hotel. The rooms were absolutely stunning with glass wall to enable you to see across Tsavo. The food was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was worth going to Kenya just to stay here
The best Place to be on Earth. The Service is wonderfull, the Food excellent and the accomodation is on a range by itselve. The view over the conservation area of Lumo community Wildlife Conservation till the Kilimanjaro is extra ordinary. I would always come back and could stay here for lifetime. The Team as well as the Management on the top Michaela and Bernhard are giving everybody the feeling of staying at home with your family!
This is gorgeous place with gorgeous stuff! Everything on the 5* level, food is absolutely insane, after game drive it’s the best destination, I was always thinking about lunch or brekky 🤤☺️ Rooms with the view, best place for proposal! And people who working there is so kind and nice! Best place for safari!
