We stayed in Nakuru, Naiwasha, Mara and Nairobi in our Kenya trip, and the Sopa Lodge at Nakuru was by far the best located. It has stunning panoramic views of Lake Nakuru and the surrounding hills.

The road is tarmac until the park gate. From there it's murram road to the lodge. 95% of it is good maintained roads but during rainy seasons expect a few rumbles caused by water erosion. The drive is about 21KMs to the lodge from the park gate. The last mile is crucial cause of the outcrop rocks, so slow and sure is the way to up the steep climb. Enjoy!
