Perched at the top of a 100 metre high rock face sits Lake Nakuru's newest and smartest addition - The Cliff – a 10 room luxury camp While 'luxury camp' is the simplest description, in reality The Cliff defies conventional labels, being a combination of safari lodge, tented camp and boutique hotel, constructed and furnished in a contemporary European style.

This lodge is a real find: Fabulous! It is relatively new and outright stunning. The Cliff is located in the Lake Nakuru National Park over a 100mt rock overlooking the Nakuru Lake. The place in itself is very quiet and far from the busy areas, with great security and lovely overall vibe. To get to the lodge you need to go all the way up the National Park, so you get a great game drive just by driving back and foth from the lodge, and the park itself has stunning biodiversity. The lodge itself is fenced, so you will not see much fauna in it, but there are plenty of varied birds and you can begin to spot animals as soon as you exit the premises.

The service is great, very polite and attentive. The food is out of this world, many international dishes cooked to the greatest standard. Serving is individual in your own table during the specific timeframes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The rooms are individual tents., all overlooking the Lake, with a beautiful view and so much comfort. The tents in itself are quite luxurious, with a bath tub and shower with view to the lake. Even though the tents are one next to the other, they are quite private and you hear little noise from the common areas. The lodge only has 10 tents.

There is laundry available for a price. The tents were kept spotless at all times.

The complex itself has a gym, an infinity pool, conference room, a bar and a restaurant area. Wifi is avaible in all rooms and you can usually get cell phone signal as well.

This was my favorite lodge in my Kenya trip and would go back in a second. Do not miss out on this gem!

We were met at the entrance to lake Nakuru national park by 2 team members of the Cliff who then proceeded to take us thru the very scenic lake Nakuru game park aboard their exclusive game drive vehicles. Lake Nakuru is a slice of heaven offering a variety of wildlife from exotic birds to rare white rhinos and of course all the other species you would expect to see on safari.

Upon arriving at the Cliff we were greeted by an amazing team offering us a welcome drink. We were then walked to our tent by our assigned butler. Upon walking onto the massive front deck overlooking beautiful lake Nakuru we were mesmerized by the unbelievable view and peacefulness of this pristine location. We then proceeded to enter our luxurious tent to settle in. Accommodations are truly luxurious and every detail carefully thought of.

What makes the Cliff truly memorable is the wonderful staff who will cater to your every need, luxurious accommodations, peaceful environment, exceptional views and sunrises, outstanding food and service.

Thank you to the entire team at Cliff for making our stay a truly memorable one that we will cherish always. Looking forward to our next visit soon.

The Cliff has always been on our bucket list, and it absolutely lived up to our expectations! The drive up to the lodge is quite long, but once you arrive, you are rewarded twice over.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest and most professional welcome by the manager, Justus, and his team. The rooms? Simply heavenly—pure luxury with every comfort one could ask for. Since it was my wife's birthday, they even decorated the room with rose petals, a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more special.

The highlight of it all? The breathtaking views! We ended up spending the rest of the day in our room, simply gazing at the lake as dusk set in. The next morning, we were treated to the most magical sunrise imaginable.

The food here is second to none—the chef truly knows his craft. From housekeeping to the guides, every team member made us feel like royalty.

This is a lodge that deserves a spot on everyone’s bucket list. We will definitely be back!

If you are expecting a luxury camp primarily to listen to nature and go on game drives this is not the place for you! The Cliff is on top of a cliff with a spectacular view of the lake and the sunrise but it takes about 25 minutes of boneshaking driving to get from the Cliff to the game areas on the lake shore. Lake Nakuru park is not very big and does not have a huge variety of game although you are pretty much guaranteed to see Rhino unlike the other parks!

The Cliff is about having a bit of R&R in the African bush. The tents are huge with a large bath set so you can bathe whilst enjoying the view over the lake. The bed was enomous with good quality bedlinen. There's fluffy white towels, robes and slippers. Good quality soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are provided along with a haridryer!! We were provided with complimentary soft drinks in the minibar and our bed was warmed by a hot water bottle every night. There is also a gym, an infinty pool (not heated) and a spa for massage and facials etc.

If you want, they will open the blackout covers of your tent at 6am so you can watch the sunrise from your bed along with an early morning cuppa and biccies!

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who are exrtremely well trained and very friendly and smiley. They looked after us really well. Our driver wanted to do a long morning game drive so they packed us a wonderful picnic breakfast to have in the bush.

Bearing in mind where you are, the food was amazing.

At an additional charge they do a two hour boat ride so you can get really close to the flamigos which, sadly are less plentiful now that the lake is rising and the water not so saline. We didn't know about it which was a shame becasue if you are there, as we were, specifically to see flamigos, it is difficult to get close to them in a car so the boat would have given us a much better view.

If I had a negative comment it was that the dining room and bar were set back so there is no view from them. It is clear management decided it was more important that the tents have the view!

In summary - great for a holiday but not for game drives.

The Cliff is a fairly new luxury tented camp inside Lake Nakuru National Park. Unfortunately due to the lake flooding and cutting off many roads, access to the camp is quite far which in turn results in driving at least half an hour for any decent game. The Camp sent through very clear Google Map directions, and even called to make sure we were not lost.

It has been while I have been wanting to stay here. Was it luxury – they try. The tents are next to each other with limited privacy. Having had a blank canvas to build a camp, why would the tents be so close together that you can hear your neighbours and see your neigbours on their decks? These privacy issues need to be addressed.

The restaurant and bar tent, as well as pool area have no clear lake views – they look into the back of guest tents. Why would you build a camp on a cliff and have your common guest areas with no view?

The tents offer amazing views with bathtubs at the front for a bath with a view. The bed sagged into the middle resulting in poor sleep, and you can hear the generator when it’s on (from 6.00 am). Guests in tent 10 complained they could hear the staff at night.

The wait staff need training in listening and anticipating guest needs. We asked for coffee’s at 7.00 am in the tent on the first morning. Instead we get the wakeup call sans coffee. When asked – “oh forgot”, and then they arrived 15 min later.

Our breakfast order on the 2nd morning was clear – two medium poached eggs, hollandaise on the side, a side of mushrooms and a side of spinach. Instead it all comes together. The food generally was okay – not what I’d expect from a luxury camp. The music in the dining tent was a great touch.

Also meals took forever to be served – it was a set menu with choice, so not a huge amount of prep to be done.

We tried the Cliff Boat which was great – a safari on a boat on Lake Nakuru. We got to see so much birdlife. When we arrived to the jetty area – it feels like a ghetto. Nobody to welcome you, and walking past rubbish (grotty face masks, rags and some strewn rubbish). The boat is well equipped and safety is paramount. The captain doubles up as the guide. According to him, the Little Grebe is an Egyptian Duck. I mean come on – you should have some basic guiding skills.

I’m glad I tried The Cliff out – would not return in a hurry.

A Truly Memorable Honeymoon Experience at The Cliff Nakuru

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at The Cliff Nakuru over the New Year period to celebrate our honeymoon, and I can confidently say that our experience was nothing short of exceptional.

From the very beginning, we were blown away by the service and attention to detail. In particular, Albert, one of the staff members, went above and beyond to make our stay truly unforgettable. His warmth, professionalism, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for our entire visit. Albert not only anticipated our needs before we voiced them, but he also added personal touches that made every meal and interaction feel special.

What stood out most about Albert was his perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism. He took the time to learn about us and ensure that we felt valued and at ease throughout our stay. Whether recommending the best dishes, offering insights on the area, or simply sharing a laugh, he made our experience feel tailored to us in the best possible way.

The Cliff Nakuru itself is an incredible destination, with breathtaking views and exceptional facilities, but it was the staff, particularly Albert, who truly made our time there magical. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had such a warm and memorable start to our married life.

I highly recommend The Cliff Nakuru for anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and personalized experience. I hope Albert’s efforts are recognized, as he is truly an asset to the team. We will certainly be returning!

This was my favourite hotel in Kenya - maybe the world! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable. We were greeted with a welcome beverage and invited to lunch, despite showing up after lunch service had ended.

The food in the restaurant was amazing! Everything was made fresh to order, plated beautifully, and tasted delicious.

The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated, and well equipped with everything you need. Most impressive is the view! Each room is on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the lake. The sun rises over the lake, so you’ll be spoiled with a gorgeous sunrise view from the comfort of your bed each morning.

I highly recommend treating yourself to a massage while there. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a long safari drive!

This place is pure magic. The tents are huge each with the most beautiful view of Lake Nakuru. You can take a bath in the massive tub while enjoying the view of the lake below. You’re so high up that the fish eagles are soaring below you. We had the silent morning wake up. Your tent steward unzips your front tent flaps so you can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise. They have a large tent which serves as the lounge/bar serving fabulous cocktails. Another large tent for dining. Thank you to Albert our meal steward and the fabulous chef Mombo and his team. Your culinary delights were so flavorful. I especially enjoyed the Cliff speciality mushroom and corn risotto. My husband was blown away at how tender and beautifully cooked his Chateaubriand was. Outstanding!
Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so memorable.
This truly is a very special experience, and you will leave with a full heart.

Our family of four (kids ages 7 and 9) stayed one night at The Cliff during our safari. We traveled up from Lake Naivasha, and had a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park prior to checking in around 2:00 pm. The staff greeted us at our vehicle and took care of all our luggage. Check in was very quick followed by an orientation of the camp. We counted approximately 10 tents in total, and we had two of them. There was only one other tent being used, and we actually never saw those guests. It felt as if we had the entire camp to ourselves.

Food was plated with at least two choices for each course (two meat entrees and two vegetarian entrees). Everything was excellent! Albert took care of us and he was very personable, telling us about his family, his experiences working in different resorts all while providing attentive service. He was also very sweet with the kids, offering them specially prepared foods and interacting with them on a “kid-level.”
After lunch, my wife took advantage of the spa services and enjoyed them. Maybe not a luxurious experience, but INCREDIBLY reasonably priced for what they offered. While mom enjoyed the spa, I took the kids to the pool and we had a lazy afternoon. Albert was available to grab a few drinks and bring them over to the bar.

Dinner was another great experience. Again, we had the whole dining area to ourselves. Albert was great and the chef prepared some amazing meals, coming out to talk with us about everything. Before leaving, Albert took our order for breakfast the next day.

We had two separate tents and didn’t want the kids to sleep alone, but we were able to put them down and enjoy the evening on our porch overlooking Lake Nakuru. The tents are set up perfectly utilizing the view, including a bathtub next to a zipper flap, allowing you to open it up and enjoy the evening skies while enjoying a relaxing bath. We slept with just the mesh flaps closed (the do have canvas coverings to block out any light/provide more privacy), so that we could see everything outside. Even if the resort were full, the tents are setup so that you would have privacy from anyone looking into your tent from theirs.

In the morning, the sunrise was gorgeous – directly in front of us across Lake Nakuru. Albert was again their to take care of breakfast, which was, unfortunately, a bit quick because we were leaving relatively early to travel to our next destination. We were able to enjoy the sunrise, but spent a little more time packing than we would have wanted during breakfast.

Albert, and the rest of the staff, helped with all of the luggage and wished us a safe trip to our next lodge. It was hard leaving The Cliff, especially after just the one night.

During our safari, we stayed at 4 different lodges, and the Cliff was by far the most unique and luxurious experience we had. Lake Nakuru National Park, was not as exciting as some of the other parks we visited, but this camp would certainly pull us right back, just to have the experience of staying here again. We absolutely loved staying here and would not hesitate booking again!

Speechless....

Just returned from our trip to Kenya, this was definitely an amazing place to stay. Wish we were here for more that just the one night.

The 'Tent' is so well furnished and fitted out, you can have a bath looking out on the view, or sit on your own balcony. I sat and watched and listened to the Fish Eagles swooping around in the afternoon - totally fab!

We used the pool which as the weather was a little overcast, it was chilly but refreshing, all areas lovely and clean, staff really helpful.

Morning Sunrise, they do all the usual turn down care, water bottles in beds etc, and then in the morning the will come and un zip the outta tent so you can stay in bed and watch the sunrise - truly wonderful x

Nothing is too much trouble the staff are really helpful and attentive.
