Detailed Reviews
We stayed in this lovely camp for one night in one of the luxury dome tents. The tents, which Mohammed the owner tells us we’re newly installed a couple of months ago, Were very spacious, clean, comfortable, and each has a private bathroom including a strong shower. The air conditioning worked well, though the power occasionally tripped out for a few minutes. Dinner was plentiful, though there was a separate 15 JOD, charge per person, and you don’t really have an option of eating elsewhere since you’re in the middle of a desert. The camp has a maximum capacity of 28, which meant it was quite peaceful, in keeping with it’s location.
One of the selling points is that the dome tents should allow you great views of the star filled desert night sky from your bed, but we only saw a couple of stars because it was a full moon when we stayed, which was a little disappointing, but the view from the camp is stunning.

My husband, brother, and I stayed here in May. My husband and I have stayed here multiple times because it is excellent.
From the moment we booked, Mohammed was communicative and answered all of our questions. The atmosphere of the camp is relaxing and safe. I know sometimes for solo female travelers it’s important to know if you’ll feel safe and taken care of. Mohammed and his team will do just that for any of their guests.
We have stayed in the traditional tents before and this time chose to stay in the deluxe tents. These are fantastic! They are beautifully designed down to the smallest details. The beds are very comfortable, there is air conditioning, and a private bathroom with a shower. The best part is the wall of windows that lets you take in the beauty of the desert. We loved these rooms.
Part of why we stay here is that Mohammed is also very helpful in helping set up tours of the desert. We did a day tour as part of our stay and it was perfect.
Highly recommend Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp! Mohammed and his team will take care of you and make your trip memorable.

We were so, so happy with our choice of the Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp! We had to change the day of our booking with short notice because of a flight delay but communicating with Hassan and Mohammed through booking and WhatsApp was easy and they were very accommodating. We stayed in 2 of the dome tents and the experience was everything that I hoped for.
The dome tent windows are kept shaded (drapes outside and curtains inside) during the heat of the afternoon but once the heat broke, staff members came over to undrape the tent and wash the window panes (glass) for an amazing desert view. No scuffed plastic or dusty window panes here! I know that AC is not be part of an authentic experience but we were very grateful for the cool air after a hot drive down from Petra. Overall the whole room was extremely comfortable - great bed and pillows, a big sofa, indoor and outdoor seating areas, a good sized shower and bathroom. The rooms are designed so that you have plenty of privacy and the common areas for meals are well designed and spacious with great views. Relaxing after dinner and watching the stars come out on the patio is one of my favorite memories from our trip. The camp has a great location in Wadi Rum, with a perfect sunset spot is on the rocks right behind the main tent. It's just a 2 minute walk from the Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp while other people had to be driven in and leave early for dinner.
Food was SUCH a highlight of our stay. I wasn't sure if there would be fewer dishes served because of the few tourists in Jordan right now but that was not the case, we were incredibly spoiled with delicious options. Dinner was well worth it, all of the food from the Zarb was so good, perfect chicken skin, roasted veggies, plus all of the side dishes. Breakfast at the camp was probably my favorite meal over 2 weeks in Turkey and Jordan, everything was so delicious but the eggs plus stewed tomato side dish were stars. And again, so many options, we were truly spoiled.

This place is top notch, a traditional Bedouin camp that takes care of all your elevated needs of luxury in Wadi Rum.
You arrive at the Wadi Rum Village, so pass through the visitor centre and here you need to try to make contact with your camp and arrange your free pick up. We did try to communicate via WhatsApp and Booking.com but the communication that way isn’t great so just expect to arrive in the village, park at the car park as you enter the village on the right hand side, pay 5jd for unlimited nights stay. There will be a lot of local Bedouin men in the near vicinity and just ask them who to speak to regarding your camp and it quickly becomes apparent who will be doing your check in etc. Very quickly you are whisked away on a 4x4 to the camp and you drive through stunning scenery (wear sun cream!).
Arrival at the camp is just jaw dropping. A beautifully decorated tent which hugs the cliff is set up all in traditional Bedouin style, you wait there whilst check in continues or you can wait on the terrace but it was a bit hot for that to start off with. Tea, water biscuits offered and then led to our tent. Inside is plenty of space with a huge double bed facing the open windows of your own private terrace whilst you are able to admire the views of the Lawrence of Arabia rock/hill directly from your bed as camels pass you by…..it is an indescribable experience. The bathroom is done to a high standard with plenty of hot high pressured water with all the amenities. The tents give you uninterrupted views of the extraordinary scenery where the bubble domes are behind are do have interrupted views if this is important to you. High quality linens adorn the bed with a sitting area inside and outside. It is fine to bring your own alcohol.
Breakfast is traditional local food with a few nods to western breakfasts but you will probably enjoy the local food more. In the evening they will cook a Zarb in the sand, make sure you are sitting in the big open terrace (a great way to meet other people whilst smoking shisha and drinking tea) and just as the sun sets they will come and take you through to where they will extract the zarb from the sand which is a mesmerising experience in itself. Buffet style dinner commenced with many local dishes which were tasty, full of flavour and plentiful to allow you to go back for more! Baklava served for dessert which were amazing.
Book your tours as soon as you arrive, we did the 6 hour jeep tour and the beautiful scenery will be forever etched on your memory not to mention your driver and guide cooking you lunch deep in the canyons serving it you on a red carpet was unforgettable. We also did the camel tour at sunset…..just out of this world.

Mohammad and his family truly cares about his camp and giving a great experience. There are only like 4 properties in Wadi Rum with private bathrooms and this is one. So I would rate it as a luxury camp. We stayed in the bubbles which are only 1 year old, he also just replaced the tent rooms with brand new luxury tents with decks that are only 1 month old. Their main tent is massive and he just added onto it to make a better dedicated serving area for food. Both our bubbles were pristinely clean with functional WIFI and hot water. Mohammad pays a lot for cleaning service, water delivery, etc to make his customers stay super special and comfortable. He grew up in the cave part of the camp so you can tell he has so much love for this place. Food was fantastic at both dinner (pit grilled chicken, veggies, and rice and lamb) and breakfast. There was plenty to eat and we were all stuffed after both meals. We also booked a jeep tour and camel rides. Both were a blast and also handled by the family. By far, way better than staying at one of the camps outside the protected area. These are true Bedouin family run camps and the care they give shows. Only ding is they are cash only and only JOD, so you need to make sure to bring enough to cover room, dinner (not included), and extras like jeep tours or camel rides.

As part of a 9 day self planned itinerary in Jordan we carefully chose this beautiful camp and were extremely pleased that we did.
We’re not “campers” but didn’t want to miss out on experiencing the incredible Wadi Rum, and the genuine Bedouin hospitality. The Wadi Rum Bedouin camp meant we could do this in a fabulous setting with a spacious bubble tent (with air con and a generous bathroom) and our own terrace where we could sit and take it all in (including the sunset).
There are only 12 or so tents so the feeling was of care and luxury (and at a very fair price) rather than being overwhelmed with multiple tents.
Dinner and breakfast were both delicious (hats off to the chef) and the whole experience, including the private 3 hour jeep tour arranged for us, was exactly as we hoped and more. We’d highly recommend.

Camp: The location was great. We chose two martian domes. Couldn't believe how well set up and comfortable they were. Very spacious. Right in the middle of the desert to have a functioning ac, hot water shower and all the other amenities that a nice hotel in an urban area, was a real treat. Each room had a sit out and the curtains could be drawn wide open to given one the feeling of sleeping under the stars. The dining/common area was also very nicely decorated with traditional furnishings and carpets.
Food: Dinner was plentiful (with enough vegetarian and meat dishes); though the zarb was nothing special -- lit was like any other grilled meat and vegetables with not much seasoning. Breakfast could be improved in terms of both variety as well as putting out sufficient quantities of the dishes they offered. We turned up 15 mins late for breakfast and by then, already, two dishes were over and they did not put out any more! All items were cold giving the impression that the food had been cooked elsewhere and brought over a while back.
Staff: We met Mohammed, the camp owner for just a few minutes but could make out how polished, warm and welcoming he was. Other staff members were less so. Perhaps they just need to get more training in customer service . When we arrived, they took a while to figure out which rooms were assigned to us. The driver who took us on the jeep safari was not very communicative; he would just drive us from point to point and then go and sit with his buddies till it was time to drive to the next spot. We had signed up for the camel ride but that also took a while to resolve. This was surprising because I had exchanged many emails with the camp prior to arrival and what we planned to do was discussed in detail in the email. At night, none of the staff told us that there would be a camp fire after dinner so we retired to our room.
Overall, apart from a few of the issues listed above, we had a great time at this camp and would recommend it.

Wadi rum is surely one of the unique places i have visited in my life. Right from the visitor centre, the topography is just out of this world. After the visitor centre, you need to drive for 6 kms to reach wadi rum village where there is a big parking lot. We were wondering how would we find our camp as it was in the middle of the desert and apart from our expected time of arrival, we did not have any further contact with the property. To our surprise, when we reached the parking lot, the first person we met was Hassan from our camp. It was quite remarkable given that there are hundreds of such camps in wadi rum and it can be a process to find the concerned person who would pick you up from the parking lot. I advise everyone to have advance contact with the camp to ensure you do not need to wait at the parking lot. In case you need to wait, the parking lot has quite a few shops nearby. Once Hassan picked us up, we entered a different world. From the parking lot, the camp is about 15 minutes drive and that itself is a great introduction to wadi rum. We checked into the camp and had lunch. Lunch was offered at 10 JD person. It was 10 JD per person. After lunch we went on a desert safari with Hassan's brother. We were taken to 5-6 sites and the safari lasted for about 3.5 hours. Most of the sites had little bit of trekking/walking involved and those with mobility issues may prefer to be in the jeep only. The experience of travelling through the desert would itself be a lifetime memory, never mind the actual sites. We finally saw sunset from our last site which was again a remarkable experience. As regards the camp, the room which we chose was very nice, clean and kept in a tidy condition. Though they have martian tents, the same does not give you any better vibes than the normal tents. The normal tents have a porch infront of them where you can sit and look at the vast desert in front of you. I can assure you it would be truly an awe inspiring experience. The dinner was again a buffet affair, which was provided at the costs of 15 JD per person. We went on a full moon night, which kind of impeded the true star gazing opportunity but the full moon reflecting on the vast desert landscape had its own beauty. Overall, its a must do in Jordan and the wadi rum bedouin camp is highly recommended for their hospitality, professionalism.

There are lots of camps dotted around, but choose carefully. Some we saw during our jeep ride looked very basic, with tiny tents.
This camp really has all you need. Large, clean tents with strong air-conditioning (you will be surprised how stuffy and hot these can get without it) and well working showers (again, you get so dusty and sandy...) There is a large communal tent with a nice outside terrace for eating. Breakfast is included (best labneh I had in Jordan) and for an additional charge you get to eat dinner cooked in a traditional way - underground with a fire built on top. We were able to organise a camel ride and jeep ride directly from the camp.
And of course.... the stars! Best experienced sitting on the deck area outside the tent....
If I could add two luxuries, it would be an ice machine in the communal tent and some coffee other than instant for breakfast.

Contact with Mohammed on WhatsApp after booking was very efficient. We originally had planned to arrive around 4/5pm but as we left Petra late, we didn’t arrive until about 7pm. Regardless, Hassan (his brother) was waiting for us at the rest house. We got our luggage and jumped on the back of his pickup truck. We drove to the camp across the desert. On arrival we were stunned by both the camp and the view. Our chosen accommodation was the deluxe tent with the balcony. This is by far the most unique place we’ve ever stayed! The tent/room was in a clean and very well decorated condition with a very homely feel to it. The room has amazing AC and power sockets, accepting British and EU plugs (maybe more). The en-suite bathroom was very nice too. Shortly after arrival we had dinner, which was cooked in the ground. My wife is an extremely fussy eater but she enjoyed the chicken and roasted potatoes. After this we sat outside and drank tea with another couple who were staying. There were only three groups of two staying when we were there, which was very nice for us. We were given a few bottles of cold water for during the night, some to drink and some to take back to the room with us. The service from Mohammed and his brothers was fantastic! I spent (literally) a week agonising over which camp to stay at in Wadi Rum. I can truthfully say I was still nervous about my choice before we stayed. However after arriving there was no need to be nervous at all. Everything about this place was amazing. The hospitality was outstanding and I felt very comfortable and homely! I’d highly recommend this camp to anyone else and I would love to return for longer. The price I paid was 95JOD for one night. Yes this is a little high compared to other camps, but the level of accommodation here seems difficult to match elsewhere.
