This was a really incredible place from which to explore Wadi Rum. The accommodation, food and staff are first class and everyone at the camp really goes the extra mile to take care of you and make sure you enjoy your experience. The food and food service are amazing and the cooks, waiters and restaurant staff were professional and attentive.

The rooms were super clean with soft fresh towels good heating and aircon, plenty of tea and coffee and fresh water and drinks in the fridge.

The star gazing trip with the amazing and inspiring Fakhri Al Alami was unforgettable and the amazing telescopes we used at the observatory enabled us to get some amazing views of the moon and the seven sisters.

But perhaps the most wonderful part of all was the amazing trip out into the desert with Musa (Moses). We were told to ask for a different guide but I'm so very glad we didn't, he was full of amazing and interesting information about the Wadi, he answered all our questions, he knew all the best places to take us and he showed us a fabulous sunset away from the crowds. Musa was so interesting to talk to and his humility, approachability and knowledge made this a really special experience.

Absolutely wonderful few days. I didn't want to leave!

We spent just one night here, in one of the “Martian” rooms. The setting for the camp is spectacular. The room was large and comfortable (even in winter, the heat worked just fine). However, the furnishings, and especially the bathroom, are a bit tired and worn. They also lacked any kind of “local” flavor - the furniture was from IKEA, actually. The food was plentiful but only so-so. The camp was also a bit larger than I was expecting - two large tour buses were staying there at the same time we were. It would have been nicer if it were a bit more intimate. I should also say that the music they played at night was a nice touch but extremely loud for no apparent reason. I definitely would have preferred softer, more pleasant music to relax by.

We had the pleasure of meeting Sultan (the owner) at reception. He was so welcoming, i knew i had chosen the right camp for us. We met him several times during our stay and he constantly checked on us to see if we were OK. At dinnertime he'd go around interacting with the guests like a true gent.

We had the opportunity to stay in a Martian tent and it was stunning! It is exactly as advertised. We were all so overwhelmed by our surroundings, the bean bags were perfect for camping out on deck.

Our room was clean, towels were fresh and bedding was comfortable.

We later switched to a 2 bedroom panoramic family suite and I honestly can't figure out which room was better! This suite was perfect for our family Size butvthe Martian tents are something to really experience. The suite has a large shower room with a living room space, one twin room and one double room. The decking is spacious and gives you that extra privacy as its away from main tents and martian domes.

Both rooms have lots of wardrobe space which was handy for our 3 night stay. Sofa is wide and comfy enough to crash out on.

What I would add, is to leave a broom in the room as I found too much sand entered the room from our footwear and then end up on our bed. Also would be great if there were bean bags in the panoramic suite to help elevate the star gazing experience. The suite has patio furniture but it doesn't have the same comfort as a bean bag.

Ok now for dinner! Dinner did not disappoint. The buffet service was exactly as expected, varied, colourful, tasty, mixed with jordanian tradition. My kids are quite fussy eaters but they loved everything esp the underground cooked meal which is something definitely not to miss or taste. We were greeted with a smile by Abu Fares who is the restaurant manager. He was always present and on the frontline to greet customers. His and mohammed (assistant) were attentive and their customer service to gold. It honestly makes a difference when u receive such good customer service and I believe people make a stay more memorable.

Drinks are more expensive here and there isn't any alternative. I think it would be a good idea to offer water as a free beverage and charge for other drinks.

Overall, I genuinely recommend this camp for your wadi rum experience. The food, the staff, the rooms just all come together and make a lovely experience. Rgank you suncity camp.

Stayed here for one night in late December. Booked a Martian dome, which was definitely the only room seemingly worth booking here for views and facilities. The bed is super comfortable and I liked the table and chairs setup so you could relax while looking at the stars. Biggest complaint of the room is how dirty the plastic is on the domes, which made seeing the stars a bit difficult, and the fact that the bathrooms look nice but the towels are thin, old, and slightly stained and there weren’t full amenities like lotion or a hairdryer. For $300/night, those should come standard. Also took a long time to get hot water. Also, this hotel is on a main road/entryway to the dessert so there were cars constantly passing by our Martian dome, even at night, so a good amount of lights and noise distracting us. Dinner buffet was ok - lots of options but too many people with the big tour groups they bring in, and it seems very rushed. Also, they made a big deal of getting us out of the dinner tent for Bedouin dancer entertainment at 830pm, but we waited and waited and no entertainment or announcement, very odd. Note: this hotel doesn’t serve alcohol so you have to bring your own if you want a glass of wine or beer with dinner. Hotel is in a very easy location right off the main road but there seem to be nicer bubble hotels that I would recommend if you want more personalized service, better facilities, and to feel more out in the middle of nowhere.

Unfortunately we arrived after dark from a long day of touring so could not appreciate the location or view until the next morning. Buffet dinner was authentic bedouin and plentiful (next day's lunch was a repeat of most side dishes). We were lucky to stay in one of the Martian Dome tents, which was a highlight of our trip. Not at all luxurious (only dim bedside lamps for light), but comfortable bed, effective heater (needed on that cold night) & surprisingly good shower. Do not expect hair dryer - no plugs in bathroom. It is a tent, after all. Waking up in the desert, rolling up the tent flaps and watching the sunrise over the rocks and dunes was unforgettable!

If you’re looking for a place to rest your head in Wadi Rum, save yourself and book elsewhere. Rundown and budget are the overwhelming themes here. (If you’re a fan of the Under Canvas brand in North America, know that this property is nothing like that.) Glamping this is NOT.

After checking into the dark and dingy reception area with furniture covered in plastic, you’ll make your way to your unit in the stunning desert, backdrop to many a Hollywood production. We stayed in “Martian Dome 1,” with the best view of the entire property. Sadly, the dirty and ripped plastic covering the facade of the dome defeated its intended purpose. Inside the room, broken shelving, broken door knobs, and ripped linens were abound. Think IKEA clearance, but damaged.

There is no wi-fi in any room (only in the common area next to reception) and no phones in any room. To contact any staff for anything one must make a trek to flag down an employee.

Included dining is buffet style in what can only be described as the school cafeteria of Wadi Rum. Food is not presented in an appetizing way, conjuring images of inmates waiting for mealtime in prison. Expect upcharges for basic soft drinks. (This resort is completely dry and does not serve alcohol.)

Walking around the property at sunset, we passed a huge trash pit (this property is certainly not eco-friendly) with a dead dog in full view. If you want to make your kids cry after your Jeep tour, this is the place to do it.

The dinner “show” consists of the unveiling of chicken and rice cooked underground in clay pots by the chef and, after dinner, a single Bedouin male dancer performing to an iPhone track on a Bluetooth speaker. The one highlight of our night (which was originally planned for two nights, but cut short to one to stay elsewhere) was the delicious watermelon lime shisha after a day at a property we’d all love to soon forget.

We stayed here as part of a tour. If I knew ahead of time we could have upgraded to a Martian Dome, I would have. We had a basic room, which was fine for 1 night. I was most surprised with the shower pressure and how hot the water was. The rooms are in need of maintenance with regards to the outlets and our room did not look from inside. The dining area is somewhat chaotic. If they offer a mango drink there is a 3JD charge. It's not worth it.
You cannot bring alcohol inside the restaurant, but you can bring some to drink outside the restaurant. They do not serve any.
Lots to see and do in Wadi Rum. Very enjoyable and I highly recommend! Was definitely a highlight of our trip.

I came with my family, wife and three kids.As soon as I arrived ,we were greeted by the owner of the camp,Mr Sultan. They welcomed us with drinks and cold towels, a much needed touch after a long travel to wadi rum, so thank you for this thoughtful gesture. Once we got the kids settled and freshened, Mr Sultan offered us a free upgrade to the Martian domes. He genuinely wanted us to have a full experience of wadi rum and whole heartedly offered us a unique experience. My wife and I had our own dome and the kids had their own right next to us. The kids were so excited and were over the moon. The Martian domes were amazing. Half of the family fell asleep outside on the bean bags under the stars while I stayed up taking in the moment and snapping away.

The Martian Domes are something different, they have clean and fresh bedding, fully working AC, electrical outlets, rainwater shower rooms. Just how they look in the pictures.

We also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager of the camp, Abu fairs. Abo Faris is a warm and welcoming man and makes so much effort to meet and greet guests everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He would always approach our family and interact with my kids and would always be smiling. We had no issues on our stay, but he would always make sure to ask if we needed anything. Abo faris even on one I assign organised a private dinner for my family.

Overall, the feeling this camp left us was brilliant. They made us feel so welcomed and special. My whole experience from staying with Suncity camp to the excursions and all the staff was exceptional. The staff, the Bedouin community feel real and authentic. People like this really help make your holiday memorable. Food at camp was really good as it had a big buffet selection and they make a traditional Jordanian meal cooked under the ground for dinner.

A magical experience under the desert sky with comfortable amenities and outstanding salads and lamb cooked in desert ovens in the sand.
Take extra dinar for camel rides and Toyota evening excursions deep into the desert to view sunsets like no other and majestic grandeur of ancient mountains and echos of Lawrence of Arabia. The stars at night are like no other location and seem to have gathered there just to look at the puny humans who are gazing back, awe struck!
3 days and four nights are enough and be mindful that children don’t have much to do.
I would think that it would be a honeymoon venue of note!

One draw back is that plug points and mirrors don’t go together and the lighting in the sleeping quarters is really woefully dim.
A small little torch and a vanity mirror propped up against the head board is not ideal..
BUT. Time to join in centuries of adventure!
Highly recommended as an experience of bygone days.
Staff are so accommodating All in all a 9 out of 10

As part of a travel package, we stayed one night at Sun City camp in Wadi Rum. I was hesitant as camping, glamping, etc. is not my thing. This, however was an experience not to miss! We had one night in a "Martian Dome" where all of our needs were met. It was air conditioned, had a fridge with drinks and a nice bathroom.

The staff, especially Haythm, was very attentive and looked after our every need. The buffet for lunch, dinner and breakfast were quite good. They had many options, so if you were tired of traditional local cuisine, you could eat pasta or salads and there was always wonderful fresh fruit. There is no alcohol, so you need to bring your own if you want wine or beer with dinner.

There is Wi-fi in the main dome, but not in the rooms. There is also no TV in the rooms, so we enjoyed a relaxing night playing cards and listening to music from our laptops.

It was fun to sit in bed while the camels walked past into the desert. I was glad to have stayed. It's not to be missed.

How do we get to and from the camp as we have been told Sun City don't arrange transfers?

That's a good question! We had a driver for our 10-day trip in Jordan; so, we were dropped off and picked up. Our driver and arrangements were through Karma House, with Goway Travel as the overarching organizer. Having the same driver for our whole trip was a huge benefit (efficient, personalized, organized, stress-free, flexible) that I highly recommend.
