Our one night at Rainbow Camp was excellent. The staff picked us up in Rum village and took us on a tour of the desert surrounding the camp. We had a number of short but increasingly beautiful side hikes and a delicious lunch they cooked from scratch on the spot over a wood fire. The camp has large, comfortable tents with porches that effectively keep the sand out, and very comfortable beds with ample comforters that kept us warm during our November stay. Dinner was delicious and the staff were friendly, helpful and fun!

Arriving by 4x4 through the desert to this place was an amazing experience in itself. We made it just in time for sunset and the views from the rock above camp were incredible.
The camp was better than expected with very clean tidy showers/ toilet block and the tents were clean and comfortable. Each bed had a sheet and super thick blanket on top as well as spare blankets in case you’re cold in the night (it does get much cooler).
Dinner was great, chicken and (I think lamb) cooked in an underground oven were tasty along with rice, pasta salad etc. Not a bad spread for the middle of the desert.
Drinks were included in the form of water bottles and cans of pop although I found these went quite quickly and I never asked for more so get in early for more choice.
We walked a little out of camp after dinner to get away from the light and enjoy the stars. Not the best I have seen but amazing all the same. Someone had the stargazing app and we could see Jupiter was super shiny which was very cool. After that we went by the fire to have tea and there were marshmallows and sticks to toast on the fire. We were so lucky with a great group to stay up chatting and having a great time, the other 2 groups had gone to bed after dinner!
I slept quite well but would suggest bringing ear plugs as walking back to the tent there were quite a lot of people snoring loudly!
Breakfast left a lot to be desired, that’s where it loses a star for me. I felt that easier to provide than dinner yet there was so little choice. Not even bananas when they had these for dessert after dinner, so I ended up not eating.
Overall a great experience and the staff were all very friendly, a much more authentic experience than those awful domes that are by the side of the road. This place was very secluded in the real wadi rum desert!
Practical notes:
Bring a torch as it’s dark at night and not everywhere is lit up.
Bring a battery pack as there is charging points in the common area but not in your room.
Pack a coat as it does get cooler at night and especially in the morning when you’re driving back through the desert the wind is cold.
If you’re going to wadi mujib the next day then pack a waterproof phone case and water shoes.

A pretty much faultless review from me for a change. Fabulous location means the team who run this place wouldn’t need to try too hard but you get full strength Jordanian hospitality at all times. Even though you’ve paid for your own tent (more like a quaint little cabin) consider moving your mattress and bedding up onto the ledge above the camp to sleep under the stars. Also consider an early morning camel ride for the full desert experience. In the sometimes searing heat of the desert this is an oasis of chilled.

I stayed at Rainbow Camp for a night, after hiking Jabal Um Ad Dami with MuchBetterAdventures tour group.
The camp was fantastic, such a beautiful setting, and all the facilities you could ask for. We had a delicious Chicken Maqluba dinner cooked in traditional style, and sat out around the camp fire drinking tea and chatting to the great hosts at the camp. Deep into Wadi Rum, so a more authentic experience than just driving a few minutes into Wadi Rum like some other camps. Very easy to walk 20mins from the camp into the wilderness if you desire.
Accommodation was very comfortable, and had mod cons like showers, wifi, power outlets in bedrooms, drinkable water on tap, and the hosts were very accommodating to any request. Would 100% recommend.

This site was excellent, the rooms are clean and comfy.
Toilets and shower are 5 star.
The food...OMG...this was cooked traditionally and had so much flavour...the surprise is how they cook it.
All the guys friendly and the sunset from the lookout point is excellent.
Skies were so clear it felt like you could touch the Milky Way

We were picked up by the camp staff and given a 4 hour tour of the fantastically beautiful Wadi Rum. We got to the camp just before sunset and were showed to our comfortable accommodation. A twin room with no heating but plenty of warm blankets to keep the cold away at night. After watching the magical sunset, the camp team cooked us a delicious meal in a hot pot buried in the stand.
There was also warm showers, a big fire to gather around, and a very convivial atmosphere. The staff was incredibly nice and hospitable.
Altogether we had an unforgettable stay at Rainbow camp. I would highly recommend!

Excellent 2 nights stay at Rainbow camp with our kid and our friends. This looked by far like the loveliest camp. It's well sheltered between two rocks with trees and flowers and a large communal tent and resting area. The result is a cozy, and welcoming setting. I was impressed by the clean bathrooms. Suleiman and Ali are wonderful hosts. We ate like kings: delicious home-cooked meals cooked in the typical Bedouin way. His son, Ali, took us on full day tour of the desert and cooked us a very tasty lunch. We also did a serene sunrise camel ride. Definitely recommend.

It was such an amazing experience visiting Wadi Rum and staying at the Rainbow Camp. I enjoyed drinking tons of cups of chai offered there, and the scenery of the area was just magnificent! The bathrooms were also very clean. I enjoyed the food (both dinner and breakfast), and to be honest, it was way better than how I expected it to be. There were many vegetarian-friendly options in the buffet, and the hospitality of the Bedouins were also great. I also loved sitting by the camp fire and talking to different people from all over the world. So thanks for this unforgettable experience! Do mind though that it is very cold at night so make sure you bring enough warm clothes to get through the night :)

This is a wonderful camp in the Wadi Rum Protected Area near Aqaba in Jordan. First you absolutely must see Wadi Rum, it is beautiful. This camp is in a perfect location nestled between some rocks that are perfect to climb up to watch the sunset. The traditional food is served buffet style and is very good, and as a Western visitor I loved seeing them pull it up out of the desert oven. You will hear coyotes during the night so bring ear plugs if you need to. The camp is very clean, and has a new bathroom / shower facility. I unfortunately got very sick the first night there (not because of the camp), and had a chance to really use these facilities. They had a driver take me into town to get treatment at the clinic, and when I returned they gave me a special tea for my stomach to help. Ali took the group I was traveling with on a hike to the Jebel Burdah Rock Bridge which I also highly recommend as it was a great experience for them. I whole heartedly recommend staying here if you get the opportunity to visit this area.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay here. Suilaman picked us up from Wadi Rum in time to see the sunset from the rocks above Rainbow Camp. Food cooked in the desert oven was great. Suilaman arranged for his brother Mubarak to take us on a jeep safari visiting the top spots. Bathrooms were nice and clean and even had power in the tents to charge our phones. Suilaman and his family are very friendly and accommodating. Loved it.

There is no power in the separate tents. They have some cabins as well. Very clean. New washrooms with running water and showers that are shared across the guests - but many stalls and showers. Indoor communal dining area. Would be one of the nicer camps in Wadi Rum.
The two brothers who run it are called Mubarak - +962 0779622360 and Suleiman - +962 0776546470. Both speak english really well and respond to text and voice calls.
