We had a scheduled trip to Israel and decided to add a 3 day extension to Jordan on to the beginning of it. We had scheduled one night in Aman, one in Wadi Musa (Petra Moon hotel, about 2 blocks from the entrance to Petra), and one night at Rainbow Camp. We had no expectations about what we would see. The whole trip was wonderful, as was Rainbow Camp. The camp is a little ways out of any towns so it is a drive, but worth it. The tents are walled tents and very comfortable. The staff was great, cooked great food, and provided wonderful entertainment afterwards. Check out the cliff wall behind the camp and take the desert tour if you can. Our guide, Fahdi, was really good. We were one of the last tour groups to go to either Jordan or Israel before the corona virus shut everything down. At the time we didn't know how bad the virus would be. None of us got sick but having that looming over us made us nervous.

Rainbow Camp is fantastic. Authentic, amazing location and great food & accommodation. The camp is owned and run by an amazingly friendly Bedouin family. They cannot do enough to help 👍 Excellent internet connection

We stayed at the rainbow campsite for one night. It’s brilliant the toilet block and shower incredibly clean. Towel provided. A wonderful experience the staff are so helpful an incredible meal at night. Breakfast very good. The host stays with his staff to make sure that your stay is special. I recommend that you stay here as part of your holiday experience.

For a very reasonable price you get to spend a night in a peaceful place of breathtaking beauty with a number of remarkable perks: - delicious Bedouin style dinner (including optional sheesha) and breakfast - free water and soda as soon as you reach the camp (very much unlike Petra rip-offs) - comfortable tent - first rate shower and bathroom facilities IMPORTANT: - be sure to book your stay at the camp directly with Suleiman (WhatsApp +962 7 7654 6470) rather than through booking.com or other agencies. You will get a better deal. Suleiman speaks English and embodies Bedouin hospitality to the highest degree. - be sure to ask about the additional cost of the jeep ride through the desert. It is a nice experience, but it is not included in the cost. If you are travelling on your own, the price will be somewhat steep and you may want to leave it out. If you split the fare with others, it's affordable.

I had a fantastic experience at Rainbow Camp. Having lived in Jordan, I have been fortunate to visit Wadi Rum several times, but Rainbow Camp provides an unmatched quality of service. Abu Muhammed is a fantastic host and provided us with fantastic suggestions on where to see sunset and sunrise. Definitely recommend the camp site!
